  1. I think it would have to leak at least a few days early if it were to be in stores by Jan. If this were the case, I am thinking that the "second" modular will perhaps be a crossover from another theme? Perhaps CNY x Modular?
  2. When they say "Chinese style building"...it is just so vague!!! Are they referring to a pagoda or temple-like architecture??? As much as I would very muck like for it to be a modular, I somehow doubt Lego would make one just like that Chinese restaurant MOC on Rebrickable. Hopefully I'm wrong - they have a CNY x Disney crossover this year. So perhaps CNY x modular might not be too far off. And to think about it more, the actual modular released early. So perhaps there is 'competition' in January? Speculating, just speculating.
  3. A year or two ago, one of the minifig customs companies online had a minifig body wear (I think made of rubber). It was basically a light brown trench coat to slip over the minifig and make him look like the detective. It would have been great if Lego had made this option so the inspector could either be black and white or multicolor.
  4. Seems the CGI Seven Dwarves are here? https://www.ign.com/articles/live-action-snow-white-reveals-first-look-at-its-cgi-seven-dwarfs
  5. You are right! The lighter window frames break up the darker colored walls.
  6. Thanks! I am trying to 'classify' the minifigs by theme, and display them as such. These were just some that I could not quite classify. The Flying Warrior reminded me of Icarus when I first saw it, but he looks like he has too much armor and clothes on on to represent him. He would have been too heavy to fly! LOL But perhaps one of the two Boreads, as you mentioned. Could the Ice King (BAM) and Snow Warrior (Series 22) be related to the Ice Queen?
  7. Been thinking about the Detective Noir minifig... there was the Mime, then the 'horror' boy and girl. The latter two are more of perhaps horror figures (reference to Addams family?). Basically, there is no black-and-white Lego set that this Detective will be quite useful. Perhaps they should have just released a colored one, or at least have the option of a yellow head. Just my opinion.
  8. Is Harpy really supposed to be purple???
  9. I think you nailed it in the head!!! The olive green theme is not bad and can be good if "broken up" with some accent colors. I googled "olive green building" and this came about: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fthumbs.dreamstime.com%2Fz%2Fimposing-olive-green-building-across-intersection-munich-germany-september-busy-people-waiting-crossing-blurred-vehicles-113022624.jpg&tbnid=juQMdQCKxApHEM&vet=12ahUKEwi_9arI4J6CAxWUHTQIHYIfBZsQMygLegQIARB1..i&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dreamstime.com%2Fimposing-olive-green-building-across-intersection-munich-germany-september-busy-people-waiting-crossing-blurred-vehicles-image113022624&docid=Os62QWM88rQcBM&w=1300&h=957&q=olive green building&client=safari&ved=2ahUKEwi_9arI4J6CAxWUHTQIHYIfBZsQMygLegQIARB1 ...and you can see how the different colors make it look so much better than just the monotonous olive green in almost the entirety of the Lego build. I am hoping some Lego MOCer out there will take some ideas here.
  10. I meant that the Lego Community/ AFOLs ("Village") needs to hold a feast in honor of the goat's return... not to make a feast out of him! You were way too medieval! LOL
  11. A thought just occurred to me. It would be cool if Lego continues these dino-costume minifigs and eventually they make a Pterodactyl, Stegosaurus, and Brachiosaurus. That way, the whole Transformers Dinobots theme is complete! LOL! Perhaps the moulds were too bespoke. Case in point, that brachiosaur had the sunglasses on. I'm pretty sure they will find alternate uses for those eventually. Just like some Vidiyo pieces eventually getting recolored. The Rock Viking sounds amazing.
  12. The goat is baaaacckk!!! LOL The village needs to hold a feast!!!
  13. OMG, that was the first thing that I thought of when I saw that CMF, and couldn't stop thinking about it!!! LOL
  14. Which historic or mythical characters were referenced by these previous Lego CMFs? Flying Warrior, Series 15 ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=col233#T=S&O={"iconly":0} ) - is he a god from Roman mythology??? Ice Queen, Series 16 ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=col244&name=Ice Queen, Series 16 (Minifigure Only without Stand and Accessories)&category=[Collectible Minifigures][Series 16 Minifigures]#T=S&O={"iconly":0} )- from a Disney movie??? Night Protector, Series 22 ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=col392#T=S&O={"iconly":0} ) - which mythology???
  15. If that food truck is the actual GWP, I think I will make a food truck park on one side, and then a MOC'ed botanical garden on the other side, followed by the Town Hall. I completely agree, this does not look well flushed side by side with other modulars. The only problem is, the sides are bare. The only decors that would work are more billboards. Crawling plants would not "pop up" because of the olive green walls! This could have been an opportunity to feature new animal moulds... goat perhaps, which we are getting in the CMF and Medieval Village.
  16. Very insightful. (I find it amusing how the influencer pronounces "history" LOL) I wish they had included perhaps Space, with a light bluish gray oxygen tank, or a different color altogether! The designer said that all of the team had a unanimous decision about the color. The main deciding factor, it seems, is how it would look with the other modulars in the street. I wish they had somehow specified which ones they were thinking (perhaps it is just the JC and BH?). Modulars are supposed to be positioned however you would want to design 'your' street. And in real life, many building colors may be decided based on the architecture itself, or the main theme of the establishment. I feel like a museum, if designed properly could give us a wow factor even with some muted colors because of the build. What instead stands out in this building is the olive green.
  17. Are there enough characters to perhaps feature in a CMF series? It might probably end up being a combo of actual minifigs and some brick-builts?
  18. Where is that flamingo battle pack we were just talking about some weeks ago??? LOL ROTFL!!! Perhaps they would make one in dark orange or in tan. It would be great to have some solid color variations. Also, black with white spots! Flamingo battle pack. Goatherd Full grown duck, or at least a swan in different poses. I was hoping mainly for a baby llama, so they have an excuse to make a parent llama. Why the choice of the Afghan hound??? Maybe they picked it just because it looked so distinctive and it suited the dog groomer vignette that they just so wanted to feature???
  19. Wouldn’t that be too similar to T-Rex? Perhaps brachiosaurus- they’ll just have to make an extended headpiece just like for the llama and giraffe. Pterodactyl or ankylosaur would be fun!
  20. Crossfitter! Some of them like working out without shoes. lol Almost reminds me of the Griffin from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
  21. #2 - I'm getting tired of all this e-personalities, but I suppose they do have a certain appeal to a particular group of Lego enthusiasts #4 - is he supposed to be the young version of that South African? #5 - hoping he is medieval #6 - will go well with Acorn boy... perhaps would look good for customs to make Tinkerbelle's friends. LOL #9 - really? like the one from mythology??? Not bad, overall. But not wow, except for the goat.
  22. Or perhaps they could have made the dome more substantial with a glass dome, and the brachiosaur towering through it. That was what I had in mind when descriptions were leaked. Corner Garage was plain-looking. But it was functional and it was NOT an eyesore. LOL Jazz Club is its own abomination. LOL
  23. I think that's exactly it! As good as this is, it does not amaze. I think if Lego had gone for a not-so-grand but detail-packed Post Office, more of us would be raving about it. Boutique Hotel was really a tough act to follow - concept, architecture, technique and color scheme. It did not help that the Jazz Club was big let-down for many (and ironically the same designer!) This building is not half as bad (I would argue, not a quarter as bad) as the Jazz Club. (Online, I feel Lego could continue selling AS and just discontinue Jazz Club.)
  24. Not bad overall for the brachiosaur although I think it looks a bit anemic. I guess it would not have fit though if it were a bit more substantial. oooh, might that sabre tooth skull be a reference to something upcoming? LOL I would really like to see more big cats.
