The right side of Johnny Thunder's hat.

Maybe Johnny has TWO hats, one buttoned on each side? As a kid I always put it to the left. -

I've been less annoyed about con exclusives as the years have gone on. Back when GL was exclusive that was pretty much unforgivable. Shazam was nearly as bad and I'm still waiting on a regular release Bizarro (Mighty Micros doesn't count). But as they've moved onto CW based exclusives for DC I really don't care. Sure, Vixen, Roy, and Black Lightning should be released in comic book versions but I don't care that much about these specific figures. Now after 10 years of these things though the only figure I can say that I *really* wish I had a chance to get was the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh! I'd agree that the Marvel ones have historically been worse: Symbiote Spidey, Phoenix, Spider-Woman, and the Collector were all terrible choices. But even then they have moved into niche Captain America, Deadpool, and Spider-Man variants so I care even less than I do about the DC. (But I have a 2012 Deadpool so maybe that helps. :P ) I think that the WW set is probably cheaper because it was available on S@H in the US during FanDome, rather than being limited to a convention center for a few days? -

Never thought of it that way. Can we get a scene of him meeting Han and Chewie at a bar? -

l like the minifigure Tumbler. The UCS one feels off to me somehow. It might be all the gold or the exposed studs after the really sleek Burton vehicles. Both should really should have had another figure though: Ra's, Joker in his full coat, Gordon, or even Harvey between the two. A D2C model is one thing, but two figures for a $40 playset in a year with so few DC sets is getting stingy. It also doesn't seem to have a display stand like the 60s Mobile did? Weird. But I am excited to see Scarecrow, and Batman's alt head is a neat inclusion. Also I think Joker's hair is apple green because it looks brighter than his waistcoat. That means it is technically a new color. Maybe even less accurate though for people bothered by that. -

I'm going to guess we see it the next time S@H updates. Usually that's the start of the month right? -

Hm, I don't know of a list but it would be a good idea to have one. To get started I remember people suggesting Belle's hair (23955) for Yule Ball Hermione. Not sure if I ever saw a picture of what it looked like though. I have also been using Superman's hair (98726) for Tom Riddle and Olivia's braided hair (35620) for Lavender. I've also seen Spooky Boy's hair on Tom, but I don't know if that has appeared outside of the CMF series. Flashback Garmadon's hair would be good for older Draco, but you probably won't find that piece on BnP because it is from an older CMF. If you want something a little more blonde for Colin the Selfie Stunt Bike has his hairpiece in cool yellow. That set hasn't been released yet but I bet it will appear on BnP eventually. Chicken Stunt Bike also has a useful hairpiece in medium nougat but I don't know if that would fit a particular character. I'm hoping we get Hermione's hair in dark orange sooner than later too for Molly. Generally I think that the HP line chooses good hairpieces though. Wormtail, Tom Riddle, Lavender, and Molly are the only four that I don't really care for. Oh, and Krum but that one's kind of tough to figure out. -
Ooh, now we are getting to the part everyone was waiting for. Great pulls. It is nice to see more than the usual T-Rex and Penny. I love that flytrap build, and I'm choosing to see the Horus mask as a King Tut reference.

Bricks and Pieces has the mullet piece (Design ID 24072) available in dark orange. It hasn't been released in any sets yet, but it would be perfect for Wormtail if you want a better hairpiece that matches his eyebrows. -

Good going with the Marvel references! I didn't know about either of those. I wonder if the artist who worked on those comics did any work at DC for their BIONICLE book? As far as DC itself, Green Lantern background character Stel has been around since the 1960s (first image), but in the mid 2000s he was redesigned with a green head and a peculiar grin... edit: one of the comments on that YouTube video reminded me that Whisper the Wolf from the Sonic the Hedgehog comics was partially inspired by Kopaka according to her designer. Her personality is quite different from his, but you can see it in her mask for sure. -

The display is on the back of the Icons box. It's not a GWP, but maybe it is packaged inside as a bonus like the Silencio! display in DA. -

I could see Mysterio's entire body being useful for Lex with the right armor hiding part of the torso. He has had golden warsuits before. Good idea there! There isn't much in that set which is valuable aside from the minifigures though. I can see them going for a lot, but fingers crossed. I love getting bright red hair. I think Mia's hair also looks pretty good on minifigures personally. I'm using it for Mera right now with a tiara piece. Vicky's would also be nice though. Legend says it was originally designed for the cancelled Starfire minidoll. I think that there is a decent selection of red hair for female characters (Firestar's is on BnP!) but I think the only option for males are the sleepyhead hair from Everyone is Awesome, the afro, and a couple of mohawks. Yellow has the opposite problem. The skater, Mutt, Emmet, and Cav-El hair all come in yellow but I don't think that there are any good options for female characters out there unless they have dreads or a bowl cut. I'd even take the overused Elsa Schneider hair in this color, just to see how it looks on Supergirl and Black Canary (or maybe a custom Jesse Quick). -

"What do you mean you don't like this food? You said it was flavorless before, so I poured a jar of salt over it. You can't say it has no taste!" I don't think that anyone has been saying that side printing shouldn't be a thing, more that there is a lot of linework and sharp edges which pull the eye to places where it probably shouldn't go and make some of the figures unappealing. Silver Centurion was a pretty good figure IMO because the color blocking is consistent (FalCap has gray and white splashed on wherever color isn't needed), it doesn't layer colors to add "texture" (Wanda's bright red lines on a dark red torso gives them more emphasis than they really need, and Spidey is just a mess IMO), and all of the detail doesn't distract from the character's center which is usually the head/face. Granted the huge Iron Man helmet might help with that, but unlike other IM figures where that usually feels oversized that is at least balanced out somewhat by the armor piece. When I look at Wanda though my eye is drawn immediately to her belt buckle. She has a lot of downward motion on her top half, the bright red coloring is brightest to the sides of the buckle and end up framing it, and then her boots point upwards. That's just...I don't know. I can see how someone who is a bigger fan of the character would appreciate LEGO going all out to render them with so much detail, but as someone who likes Wanda okay but isn't out there looking for merch of her I don't find this appealing. I'm not sure that this is all really the designers' fault as much as it's a combination of a minifigure's bizarre proportions with the MCU's complicated costume design. For what it's worth I think Sylvie is okay. Probably she could use a little detailing on her legs just to make her worth the $5 price (if her accessory doesn't do that!) but her design is really clean. FalCap is actually growing on me a little too. Even though I still think there is a little too much detail, he looks better when half of the figure isn't being covered by a shield. -

2006-2008 Batman prices did become really crazy. I haven't looked at them in a while, but I do remember that when LEGO first announced that they had the DC license in 2011 there was a lot of excitement because of how expensive the sets and minifigures had become. I think that the original theme probably hit at the wrong time. Batman really blew up again after The Dark Knight, which came out the year that the original line ended. So if your demand suddenly goes up when you are winding down a line which never sold much before, which means that you didn't produce much those aftermarket prices are going to be ridiculous.... Probably why the first thing LEGO did in 2012 was just remake a bunch of the 2006 sets. A new Penguin sub would be good. I have been pretty Batman'd out after the last couple of waves, but I'd splurge on a Penguin sub day one. I have too many memories of it in the Adam West movie not to. :P I'd be open to another Arkham too. But please, if they are celebrating the 10 anniversary, let there be some love for Superman and the Justice League.... -
Super Mario 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Ah, okay. I'm not a big fan of the 2D games or spinoffs so I mostly know Peach's castle from the 3D stuff where it either has a small role or is calling back to the N64 version. I'd be surprised if they don't go with something based on the N64/Odyssey design but who knows? I'm sure they have something more interesting in mind than just a facade of Peach's castle. The Hogwarts set had plenty of interior space. It was a lot larger than this will be, but if this is in a similar style (and they are both micro castles...) I could totally see different "rooms" being classic Mario level themes. Bowser's Airship and a few Toad houses would be great too...probably shouldn't get my hopes up too much though. :P This is 16-bit Mario by the way for those who are unaware of what I meant when I suggested more sprite figures. This was a graphical update from the 8-bit one that came in the NES set. I'm going to expect statue figures until we hear otherwise but that would be a worst case scenario for me personally. I'm impressed by how well LEGO is able to paint them, but something always feels wrong about all of them having heads without wigs or hats, and that just won't do for Mario. (Not to mention scaling with Luigi and Toad, Peach's dress, etc., and what do you do with more animal characters like Bowser and Yoshi?) But maybe everyone is brick-built out of small pieces, kind of like tiny versions of what are in the sets now? IDK, but that seems possible too. -

Is that what passes for small now? I was thinking 80 USD. Maybe we'll get some nice landscaping and the moat. I'd love the courtyard filled with Boos too.
