  1. Dunno why people wouldn't I thought that cartoony Clone Wars figures had gone out of style (unless it was a gimmick like Mighty Micros), but I guess not.
  2. Are you not going to get in trouble with your fount of holy knowledge if you tell people what the SDCC exclusives are?
  3. Thanks! I'm a bit disappointed that the collar eats up the neck, but oh well. I'm still really excited for Blue Beetle.
  4. Wow, that head sock is a surprise. Thanks! When you get around to Blue Beetle, would you mind (assuming that the connection works) taking an extra picture of him with the collar but no wings please? I'd really appreciate that.
  5. Maybe if this hairpiece wasn't the way it was it would fall apart? Or actually burst into flame? Or trick kids into making a deal with the devil? The pants are the exact same situation, even if the reasoning behind them was different. "Lord Business won't meet our quality demands unless we glue it together? I guess we'll have to do that." "This Ghost Rider minifigure is really cool. Like too cool. Let's glue fire to his head just to make people angry. See if fire comes out of any of their ears instead." It's totally fine to be disappointed (I don't know why anyone wouldn't be) but apparently there was a reason. We can't comment on the validity of the choice without knowing what they were thinking, so maybe it doesn't even make a whole lot of sense, but all I was saying is that there is a precedent. Edit: I do agree that it should be interchangeable, of course, but for whatever reason a different mold doesn't seem to have been an option.
  6. Maybe not with hair, but Lord Business' big boy pants had bricks glued to the legs.
  7. I think that there has only been one character each from DC and Marvel the last couple of years. You only have to worry about missing one hypothetical SDCC figure.
  8. He's based on Flashpoint not The New 52, as far as I know at least.
  9. Yep! Something like this: Red Nightwing Batgirl Polybag Martian Manhunter Batman and Wonder Woman from the Grodd set Green Arrow (both SDCC and Darkseid versions are New 52) Cyborg Hawkman Darkseid Batboat Robin Harley Quinn from Jokerland and the new Batcycle Chase Katana, Red Hood, and Captain Boomerang in the new Killer Croc set Flash is too, but he is close enough to his classic version that people don't usually count him. Some characters like Green Lantern, Aquaman, Damian Wayne, and Blue Beetle also wear pretty much the same thing pre and post 52. Even counting those, I may have missed one or two.
  10. Soupperson made a pretty good observation that Harley and Ivy seem to have hairpieces designed for those versions of the characters in The LEGO Batman Movie. It looks like they are coming, but I have no idea when.
  11. Clayface...Catwoman with goggles...Riddler with a suit and actual cane...new Poison Ivy... !!!! I'm having a hard time telling what is going on with Harley though, and who is that between her and Scarecrow?
  12. That polybag follows Mr. Freeze, Cosmic Boy, and Stormtrooper Finn in numbering. It is probably something a bit more special than a mini Batwing. Edit: Though, if Cosmic Boy is getting a polybag, maybe that is how they are packaging Pirate Batman?
  13. Not really. He just has headgear similar to the show's.
  14. I don't like that Batcopter. Croc's vehicle looks like it was rejected from Chima, too. Boomerang's platform is ridiculous. However, what was can see of the figures is great. Blue Beetle excites me, and I am glad to see that Killer Moth's helmet looks like the comics and not the video games (the missing beak has bugged me for some time). Scarecrow's harvester looks good, and the Bat-tank is okay. The Croc set might depend on the price for me, but Scarecrow is a sure buy.
  15. Blue Beetle makes me excited for a figure in a way I haven't been since Batgirl, but this set also includes Killer Moth and actually sounds good? The Croc set sounds pretty good too. I actually like Katana's New 52 look (though I could do without the gray skin, it wouldn't be a big deal) and throwing in Red Hood, Captain Boomerang, and a Croc big fig makes it a great source for figures (though I would have liked a black and white Two-Face too, I won't complain). And now I do have to wonder whether Ra's and Talia will be in an exclusive set. It seems pretty far fetched that someone would guess Blue Beetle, Red Hood, and Killer Moth and be right on all accounts....
  16. That isn't what happened with Marvel.
  17. Probably about as likely as Friends taking away from City sets, or Elves Ninjago.
  18. Someone on Brickipedia bought the Hulkbuster Smash and Iron Man's helmet came out looking kind of funny. Any idea what is going on here?
  19. Oh, are we back to pale skin on black heads again? I do prefer that to Batman and Captain America's golden tans.... I do like this face. The torso is kind of eh, but I do have the old one. I wonder what other changes we might get....
  20. Not really. In the way that Elves has no bearing on what Ninjago releases (both seem like they will be pretty big on dragons next year), Super Princess Girls probably won't have much of an effect on the regular line while they are aimed at different target audiences because most of these characters are appearing in male-targeted and gender neutral brands too. DC Super Hero Princesses doesn't have the exclusive rights to use any of the characters that they are featuring, whereas WB wants the Will Smith and Margot Robbie versions of Deadshot and Harley Quinn to be the only versions in live action for now. Pretty much every character featured in this franchse (including the ones here) aside from maybe Bumblebee, Cheetah, and Star Sapphire are being pushed over a breadth of mediums; whether it be Teen Titans Go!, the CW's Arrow and Flash universe, other TV shows like Supergirl and Gotham, the DCEU, or that upcoming Justice League cartoon, with many of them being depicted in multiple incarnations. Paired with interviews where the Princess Girls' developers express hope that their toys and characters will appeal to boys too, that makes these characters more likely to appear, not less.
  21. I think there is going to be some crimefighting. An article in USA Today mentioned a book where Lex Luthor captures the girls before their exams so...er? Sort of both?
  22. I don't think that Wonder Woman being gripped by Lex Luthor's Kryptonite mech or playing third banana to Batman and Flash is "designed to inspire young girls' imaginations" in the way that Friends and Elves are (which is what the press release was clearly referencing), so, paired with how it uses the future tense, I'm going to harbor a guess and say that it means mini-doll sets are on the horizon....
  23. There is something really disturbing about Amanda Waller running a high school. These are going to be a separate line of sets in the same way that City and Friends are, and City has actually started incorporating more female minifigures since Friends was released. Maybe there is an(other) ethical debate to be had about gendered marketing, but I don't see what is so bad about DC Hero Princess Girls from a collector's perspective.... At the very least, those of us who want a shield for Wonder Woman, better hairpieces for Supergirl and Poison Ivy, or Harley Quinn with dipped blonde pigtails may have a way of getting them.
  24. The purple seems to be uneven in some spots. I'm pretty sure it's just a (good) custom.
