  1. Maybe Kopaka shares a set with the supposed Ice Creature a la MMvSG? It would be kind of strange, especially if the creatures are friendly (like I hope), but...
  2. Oh, good. I was worried headlining in a movie would mean we wouldn't get regular Batman sets too.... But hey, 60s Catwoman and pigtail Harley, right? Right?
  3. I think that the new mold doesn't cover the back, so it allows the figure to use a tail piece.
  4. Yeah, maybe they'll want Frozen out in time for Christmas this year.
  5. Uh, potential spoilers there. Anyway, from WSJ:
  6. The one that she's wearing in the movie. Clearly we can't see it in the mosaic, but unless they did something totally messed up, it beats "trunks" or pants in my book just by the nature of the thing.
  7. Yeah, I'm hoping that's what happens. Even if it doesn't though, I'm still really satisfied with the figure. I'm liking the hair, the tiara, and the bracelets. The skirt is a win too, just because it is a skirt.
  8. I'm kind of surprised that the torso doesn't seem to have all of those lines, but I'm not disappointed. I'm excited to get a better look at her, hopefully soon....
  9. Eh, I don't know about the flagship. That probably wouldn't necessarily be capitalizing as much as possible, since not a lot of kids can buy those sets, so they might just turn around and buy something else, or they could just get two smaller sets for Batman and Superman, making the set that is about their fight less about them and more about what it includes that makes it stand out, something like the Batwing maybe, but then that isn't really spreading content around evenly (not that that's a bad thing for us). It could happen, but a set around the Hulkbuster's price range (~$35?) or even smaller would be more likely, I think. If the AoU sets are anything to go by, the flagship might not be the best way to get the main characters, but provides at least a few of them, maybe with a variation, and gives some desirable secondary characters (like Vision) for people who are collecting more seriously. Considering that, it wouldn't surprise me if the flagship is Batman or Superman (or both) teaming up with Wonder Woman (or even Aquaman, though I'm not convinced we'll see him in a set) to fight...something. That's heavy speculation on my end, and I'm wrong all of the time, so don't quote me (unless I got something right). It'll be interesting to see what price points we are getting and how many sets there are, since there isn't a lot to go by right now....
  10. I interpreted them as being sort of like Egyptian death masks.
  11. Ooh, I hope that those arms are compatible with regular minifigure torsos! If not (and the shoulders look like they are probably too big) then I'm not interested.
  12. As someone who isn't such a big fan of the new Batmobile design, I really like the look of this set. It's nice to have a Batmobile in scale for once. Batman himself is okay. I might like him more than the New 52 version. It's nice that he has boots, but I would have liked a more grunged face, or one with black eyes (though they missed that chance when they remolded the cowl and kept the eyes too high...). Maybe the flesh printing will at least be decent this time. I was only planning on getting whatever set Wonder Woman is in, but I might get this too....
  13. Kind of. Convergence ended already and was used as an excuse for a soft reboot. These costumes are part of that. Most of them probably won't last though, since a lot of them (Batman, Superman, Green Lantern) are designed to reflect the new status quo. Once those story arcs are over, their Divergence costumes will disappear. Others are pretty much just for the sake of change and have no story importance, like Wonder Woman's, so those could stick around (I really don't think a lot of them have anything more than a gimmicky appeal though), but that doesn't mean we will get minifigures for them. I think that you are right that LEGO is more likely to include classic or even New 52 suits rather than the Divergence ones.
  14. That's neat. Now I'm thinking about making sets for Batman and Wonder Woman's first debuts.... On another note, I've been holding off on buying the Grodd set because of the tanned Batman that has been showing up. Has anyone gotten a copy of that set (or the Batboat/Jokerland too, I guess) which is any lighter?
  15. Ha! I'm in love with this. So much personality, and a great design.
  16. The GA exclusive was not based on the show. The bare arms, fancy arrow belt, and the mesh tunic with neon lines are all giveaways. It's New 52, just like the one in the Darkseid set.
  17. They did. Personally, I don't get all of the hate. The figure doesn't look that good and the character himself isn't technically exclusive. I'm more upset that I'm missing a better way to get the red boots than that Sandman set, but I can get over that.
  18. Keep in mind that the sets won't necessarily be movie accurate. Yes, Batmobiles and Wings seem inevitable, but they might not be based on a specific moment in the movie (of which we know, only like four from the trailer), or they might combine several scenes together to make a set more interesting than a generic truck exploding. There will probably be more interesting things in the movie than that, and if not, they'll make up a scenario because WB certainly won't want the movie to look boring. (But then again, the MoS sets were reasonably accurate and they kind of did that....)
  19. The "silver" is manipulated into dark blue in the LEGO poster, as can be seen around the cape and the collar. The blue margin between the symbol is the silver, the reddish line around it will be a black outline, something that they did around the silver piping on the MOS suit. At least that's my interpretation. Edit: I think I got it backwards. It's a black line between the symbol and a silver outline.
  20. I don't know if it is actually in any set photos, maybe it is edited in afterwards, but I can make it out pretty clearly here.
  21. Okay, the new hair should definitely help, though I'm a bit worried that it'll look too big. I still hope Superman gets boots, too. Those two things should make the figure different enough from the last one to make it worthwhile. Not much to say about Batman, I guess, though I'm a little disappointed that his eyes will probably be white. It was expected, but kind of unfortunate. No stubble either. I like what I can see of the torso, but it's looking to be really similar to The New 52 version we have now. This is a good teaser though. I usually like LEGO-ized posters. I kind of hope we get one mimicking Wonder Woman's reveal soon....
  22. Yes! I love Wonder Woman's armored costume. Can't wait to see that figure. Tomorrow would be great.
  23. It's true that there isn't any hard evidence, but I think assuming LEGO's tie-in will be mini-doll based is a pretty logical conclusion, since the common brand intentions of attracting girls to classically male dominated interests and teaching them to discover their "true potential" with identifiable and relatable characters is the reason that the mini-dolls and themes like Elves and Friends were made in the first place. To quote the Warner licensing expo press release, "The LEGO Group will also be key to building the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, leveraging their experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play to bolster this universe through an array of LEGO building sets designed to inspire girls’ imaginations." However, the people who are assuming that this means that Wonder Woman or Harley Quinn will never come in another set really need to calm down and take your advice. Female minifigures didn't stop appearing in City when Friends was released. If any thing, I think that there are more there now. Also, on the topic of the licensing expo, it actually hasn't happened yet, only the press release has been sent out. I think that the expo is on Monday, so we should find out for sure then, but I wouldn't get hopes too hi up. The PR implies that the movie's merchandise will be targeted at adult collectors. "WBCP will also offer a targeted licensing and merchandising program focusing on collectors and adult fans in support of Suicide Squad" That doesn't mean it won't happen, and comic-based sets are always a possibility. Hopefully we can find out for sure on Monday (and maybe Harry Potter spin-off sets too?)
  24. I think it's obvious that Lewa is going to be corrupted by Lord of the Skull Spiders and betray the other Toa.
  25. What exactly did the Bizarro movie do to Wonder Woman? It'll probably be more like Elves than Princesses or Friends, where the characters are going on adventures rather than getting manicures. I imagine that with the presence of villains like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, it will be even more of an "action" theme than Elves (whose only physical villain so far is an annoyed squirrel :P ). Edit: Harley does have sort of a mean schoolgirl look to her though, so maybe not. I'd still bet on something more like Elves, but that might just be my bias.
