Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
admiral_typhoon replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Looney Tunes CMF just leaked - and it's 12 minifigs. I suppose this all but confirms that the Marvel series will also be 12? -
Idk how to describe it - the good ones are good, but the bad ones are bad. Tweety and RR should've been accessories and should've come with Granny and Wil E Coyote (his cheeks are a bit exaggerated) respectively. I kinda expected Porky/Petunia to use the faun legs. Aside from that, they look good! I'll probably get Daffy & Marvin.

Doc's mech's colourscheme is normal (not bright) green + keetorange, right? Just so I know what parts I can start looking for... -

I like what I'm seeing! I think I'll definitely pick it up to improve Doc's mech. -

Perhaps not the best way to measure it, but it was roughly a 10 day gap between the latest D2C (Discovery shuttle)'s reveal and release, so if we're looking towards a May VIP release for the Bugle then I guess we could expect the reveal towards the latter half of April. Also if it matches with the reveal/release of the IS sets then at this point we could also be expecting some GWP to go with either the Bugle or the MCU sets? -

yes, with reveal/release sometime between now and May. -
So wait, Tweety is a full-on minifig? I kinda wanted a Granny minifig.
-
new rubber hairpiece perhaps or a pin solution like the donald duck head mould? It's hard to speculate anything when not a single headpiece has leaked - really the only leaks we've had were shop listings and a single pic of porky's torso. They really are improving their security!

Usually the blurry leaks tend to be immediately noticeable as fake, but someone in the usual place just posted a blurry pic of daredevil and punisher minifigs, and they seem believable enough. But what do others think? -
Petunia makes sense just as Lola does - reusing head moulds.

$20 And honestly I agree with you there - I'd love if they really take the chance to give us variant spidermen mech suits, even more so if they give us the few mechs that are actually comic canon like SP//DR, Leopardon, and VEN#m. -

IIRC the Mysterio/FFH set is 4+. -

I'll admit, I'm actually interested in the concept of a Doc Ock mech, especially if it takes design cues from the 2016 set (not the 4 legs, but things like the colourscheme and the tanks on the side). I imagine the reason it got put alongside a spidey mech is because it has many more parts than spidey, which by itself would've probably been $15 and break up the consistency of the mech subline. And if I'm not mistaken, this means there's only one $20 spiderman set left to know about. If it means having more accurate sets, I'm honestly fine waiting until next year for NWH sets. -

It would also be an extra incentive to get the sanctuary 2 set if they do end up doing 2 Mk85 versions - otherwise the main selling point of the set would end up being cap marvel, assuming it's her endgame design and not a reuse of the 2019 fig. Minifig MCU Thanos isn't really something of high demand aside from those who hate bigfigs, and I'm not expecting some creator expert-level of detail in the ship - at most we get a stand for it like the just-revealed 66' batmobile set. -

On the topic of Mk85, what are the chances we get 2 variants: 1 battle/gauntlet damaged one in the final battle set, and one new normal one in the Sanctuary 2 set? -

I suppose the lack of extra detailing and reused faces could be an indication that a lot of the budget for Marvel went towards the bugle/IS sets (not sure how it works with CMFs, I think those have their own budget), so they might not have been able to give them those last touches. Morris is weird and adorable at the same time. does it really have no face? -

You joke but I'd love to see a printed tile that references this WANTED poster: -

I really appreciate the accuracy with the chitauri and it's giving me more good feelings about this wave, but man does it look unsettling. It reminds me of the Chima spiders. -

I'm curious about the dates as well, since I'm guessing Lego must be losing some money with changing contracts/release dates with stores so I winder if at some point they're just going to go like "F--k this" and release them regardless of how far they are from the movie. Also considering things like perhaps avoiding the release of the sets to overlap the infinity saga ones. -

Didn't think of that - it would be indeed a good model to see done in UCS scale, and would most likely come with DeVito Penguin (I don't think they'll do that catwoman design, but who knows). -

Impressive remake! I like all the detailing you've put in it and that you've still used the original Bionicle sphere piece. -

I feel like they would prefer doing a Tumbler remake either for next year to match the 10th anniversary of TDKR (imagine we get the camo version or a UCS The Bat) or 2025/2028. 66' Batmobile could be possible but, as it was stated before, there's no way they're having 2 UCS Batmobiles on shelves at the same time (which is not the same as having 2 or more normal retail batmobiles on shelves). My guess is a location-based set just like Marvel, but I'm open to whatever falconfan ends up saying about it. -

It could still work if you add a pair of apollo studs on its back, which helps give it that "ribbed" look that it has. The ideal piece for it would be one of those bugs from the Galaxy Squad sets, but it's been 8 years so I very much doubt they still have those. -

My earlier (pre-leaks) guess is that they would've made it for the CMF to redeem themselves by giving us detailed endgame figures in it, but now considering the amount of stuff and new moulds we're getting, I doubt it. -

I mean now that you mentioned it, that would work really well with the NA set watch as the secondhand value of it rises because of this. Making a purist fishing coat Valkyrie shouldn't be too hard.
