Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I think it had to do with the fact that the official twitter account for the movie got recently updated with a new banner & info. -

I wonder if the Luigi figure gives us the possibility of Luigi's mansion sets with a similar play pattern/feature...? -
[MOC] Overwatch - Talon Team & Dropship
admiral_typhoon replied to admiral_typhoon's topic in LEGO Licensed
From the reference pics that I took (hours and hours of playing pharah in storm rising), I'd say it's roughly an accurate size - in fact in-game the troopers are actually smaller inside the craft. Then again, Lego is not a perfect scale building tool - I'm more keen on replicating details than scale unless absolutely necessary, as I did with the heavy assault unit. I know! The earlier rumors of a dropship set kinda annoyed me but at the same time made me feel happy the theme hasn't died. I just hope they do have something planned for OW2... -

The real question is whether or not they have big enough roles/screentime in MOM to grant their appearance in whatever set/s they make. Granted, they'll most definitely show up whenever we get Young Avengers, but that's also another question - if people want figs of WV/MOM Billy & Tommy or whatever new designs they'll get by YA. -
This is something I have been working on for pretty much the past year or so (half of it was getting the bricks) In the Overwatch canon, Talon is pretty much the main enemy organization and opposite of OW, with its own scientists, medics and all, as well having a mercenary army of paratroopers and having multiple vehicles of their own, including a troop dropship. These enemies can be fought in the Retribution & Storm Rising missions in the Archives event in-game. I thought that these designs deserved more recognition than just being remembered once a year, which is why I decided to make them in brick form: Talon Paratrooper Team Talon Team by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr a Team is formed of the following: Troopers - the basic unit Enforcers - those who lead the troops Snipers - long range support Assassins - genetically modified for agility and swiftness Heavy Assault Units - heavy weapon support An extra (OC if you will) minifig that I made was the dropship pilot: Talon Pilot by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Talon Dropship Talon troopers and enforcers arrive to the battlefield via dropships, which contain a carrier module in the middle to fit around 8-10 units and are swiftly maneuverable thanks to their 4 rotating engines, which in here I was able to connect and be able to turn with a HOG mechanism: [MOC] Talon Dropship by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr [MOC] Talon Dropship by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr [MOC] Talon Dropship by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The interior of the cockpit is never seen in-game, but for the fun of it I wanted to add my own design, which is also why I ended up making the pilot fig. What if we get the WandaVision family in the CMF? I'd consider them as main characters as well, and would fit with the hint of some shows having less/more characters than just an equal distribution. I mean....We just had a 66' minifig scale batmobile set with a UCS-style stand and plaque at that price. it's not impossible. -
Impressive building! There's plenty of small details that really make it, like the various shaped windows and the arch decorations using handcuffs + boat plates. As much as I enjoy the round tower breaking up the square/rectangular footprint of the building, it does stick out with the way you did the wall, although I can't think of any other method at that size that would've made it smoother. The way you fulled the gaps on the tower roof is great though!

A D2C Sanctum filled with comic easter eggs and maybe even some special play/display features (floating figures, hidden or upside down rooms) sounds an amazing idea! Unless the comic and film versions are identical, I feel like lego would choose to do the MCU building since it's the most recognizable one, while including callbacks to the comics. Probably the cheapest price you'll ever see them go for! -
New LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Rumors, Speculation
admiral_typhoon replied to Bartlomiej's topic in LEGO Town
Glad that we are getting the usual SC parts in new colours. The corvette looks great, instantly recognizable and hopefully it's in dark red. The next 2 that were also recognizable at first sight were the Elva & Supra - they look good, and I'm interested to see in detail the Supra's front section, and unless it's just the blurry picture quality, I'm also very interested in whatever is going on in the rear section of the Koenigsegg. The C8r was the one I forgot about and had to google it - I think it suffers from looking too round at the front, but I hope I'm proven wrong.- 755 replies

It's most likely the Endgame battle set, unless Lego pulls for the third time a movie inaccurate Cap motorcycle set But then again they say third time's the charm. -

Theory - The D+ set confirms the 4+ Cap set will be based on TFA. Firstly we know that cap carter and steve are all but confirmed for the set, and they'll need someone to fight against, which will most likely be Hydra goons based on their WW2/TFA designs since the episode it's based on is an alternate to the TFA movie. While they could make a new goon minifig for the 4+ set, remember that last year they pretty much had 1 goon minifig reused throughout all of the SE avengers sets so they'll want to reuse it and keep the heroes the exclusive ones. Since we know lego likes to keep certain minifigs exclusive to get people to buy expensive set, Cap in the final battle set will probably be exclusive with Mjolnir, and the one in the 4+ set could be based on any of his TFA outfits, since all they have to do is a new torso design. They'd probably reuse the helmet & head, and the legs would just be unprinted blue/dark blue. I'll be surprised if it turns out to be a mix of things and they give us the same minifig from the endgame set. -

Unless it's a case of Disney once again paying its way to break Lego's rules/guidelines, I doubt we'll see a D+ CMF again so soon as next year - there's always been at least a 1 year break between licensed series (in the case of the disney one), and by the time we get a second one in 2023, I doubt they'll be able to cover all major characters of the upcoming 2021/2022 shows, but it also means they'll have to catch up with the 2022/2023/2024 shows if they do make a third one in 2025, and so on and on. Even worse so if they decide to make it general D+ and include characters from SW or any other shows/movies. I think this is a one-time special case, which probably got "fast-tracked" due to COVID pushing back the shows' releases, and from next year we should probably get more D+ sets and perhaps the next marvel CMF could be general MCU or comic-based. -

semi-off topic, but Hasbro revealed today a ML figure of bro thor in his final battle armor, in a new unique packaging with the Infinity Saga logo. It makes me wonder if Lego making IS-branded sets was also an idea pushed by Marvel/Disney and not just them going "oh let's make up for the lackluster 2019 sets". -

You joke but back when we didn't know what the D+ set was gonna be I was low-key hoping it'd be a TFAWS Madripoor set - it would've been a good set with transparent neon parts. Watching the Hasbro pre-Fan Friday stream and they're showing off their Haslab Sentinel. What are your thoughts if Lego did a D2C Sentinel in a similar style to the Hulkbuster? -

well, it looks as it should be - no complaints about that! I enjoy that they kept doing the bright red accents, although because of that it might end up looking a bit out of place with the earlier armors. -

After the failed tease of daredevil leaking I'm not 100% sure about what he's saying on the bugle reveal being on Friday. Also I wonder if it would impact them in any way that on Friday Hasbro has an online event going on, which includes a Marvel Legends panel. -

I mean, I don't think this set is particularly tied to any comic run that we know of, so it might be still possible for them to include a Ben (or Aunt May) figure since: 1. he looks like a normal civilian but has some importance 2. adds an extra minifig incentive for people to buy the set -

Yeah at a quick glance the 2 mechs look different from each other so there'll probably be very few similarities between them, and there would probably be a backlash if people see that they basically just released the same design but in olive green. And now that I think about it, it could end up being a very good parts pack for military builders, maybe even more fictional-like such as ironpunk/dieselpunk if we get parts like an olive green ironman helmet Yeah I think that's the case especially if they already had started designing the infinity saga sets. I think from next year we'll start seeing more D+ sets. -

Just saw the torso - if it is indeed a fake, then whoever made it was clever enough to make the arm black to confuse people. Unless lego cheapens out on the CMF, the most appropriate colour for Bucky's arm is titanium metallic + printing, and if the budget didn't really allow for it (which could happen for a normal retail set) then black, as we see here since metallic pieces in the brick renders have a pattern/texture on them. If it is real, then this probably confirms that we are getting a Bucky in some way in retail. -

Considering the amount of alternate scenarios that are happening in what if...? I'm not surprised if the D+ set ends up being based on that, but at the same time I am going to be surprised that they chose that over the other 3 shows based on more well-known characters. If it does end up being based on what if, I still think that it'll be a set based on Cap Carter + Steve Rogers army mech, which fits the $35-40 pricepoint: ...although now that I look at it, it could end up being a olive green recolor of the iron monger with some different parts. -

It could still be possible as most marvel £35-45 sets have 4 figures, but I suppose the build would have to be compromised/nerfed to allow a 5th figure. -

I'm not entirely fussed about BP not having a new helmet - honestly it never worked for him and I don't understand why would people want it other than being able to remove it to reveal T'Challa's face - his helmet is more skintight than IM or ant man's mechanical helmets. Although it'd be bad if he really doesn't have leg printing - not sure if Zod's legs can save it this time if the purple is very noticeable.
