Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
admiral_typhoon replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Unlike HP/SW (not sure if Disney wanted to associate it with George Lucas), Marvel has the chance to give us a Stan Lee fig for the anniversary. Unless they put him in the CMF, that is. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

After looking at the purple armored fig, honestly it could be anything. I checked the newest MK sets and the smallest one comes with the purple shoulderpads, while I'm sure the helmet is MCU Rescue's but unprinted. As for Korg, I think the only thing that we can do now is wait and see, since after all this speculation I have a slight feeling people might end up disappointed by whatever the D2C turns out to be as there's not many options. But I did think of something: UCS Quinjet perhaps? -

Thinking about the D2C and the 6 avengers sets, it's possible that lego may do anniversary sets based on each movie, perhaps especially the pre-2012 ones they missed, those being Cap TFA and Thor 1 which both are making their 10th anniversaries this year, and could fit more with the theory of the 6 sets being "MCU legacy" Only large models I could see from those are Asgard and the Hydra Flying Wing. I could also see D2C Asgard being a "all-in-one" set having figs and builds/moments from the 3 movies (assuming Korg is in the D2C and not the normal sets). -
Turns out this was correct!

Honestly I didn't even think of that - my mind just automatically went to Plankton. Shame there are no robots in this (1st?) blind bag series.

LEGO Ideas Discussion

At first sight I bet on Sonic and Community passing, but then I thought about the imperial fortress - it's not licensed, and it would be a set that would go very well with Barracuda Bay. -

MCU or not, we do have to remember that Marvel did recently come out with an Avengers comic where they all suit up in mechs to fight Kaiju: https://www.marvel.com/articles/comics/the-avengers-gear-up-in-all-new-armor-in-avengers-mech-strike I'll be surprised if we don't see a single mech in this wave. -

I also thought it was going to be a D2C UCS Adam West batmobile, but it seems the current leak is a 4+ $30 set of West Bats vs Joker. Curious to see what the builds are! -

So it is the minifig head + a new hat/head mould....the piece in itself looks weird but I have good hopes that the whole figure will look good. Everyone's talking about Endgame or New Asgard... but what if the set is the statesman? -

If it's not a bigfig then there's no way they'd make him with a standard minifig head...right? That would be ugly. A moulded head would also be neat for generic aliens or perhaps even make that kronan titan Thor fought in TDW. -
(Spoiler tagged only because it looked quite big) Marcos Bessa confirmed in a comment on NE's IG that all the tiles are printed, and with the new moulds for each minifigure I'm thinking they really invested a lot into this, which I'm sure will be popular but not for its main purpose (the app). I'm predicting a rise in record shop MOCs this year

I'm speechless - this is incredible! I'm pretty sure they're not official parts so the purist in me hates to say that my favourite part is the front with the rubber (?) bands. The angles all over the vehicle are spectacular as well!- 10 replies

Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
admiral_typhoon replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Went for Bionicle/Adventurers/Paradisa. This seems like the perfect opportunity to get that anniversary set, but also for the demand for other non-space/castle themes to get noticed by TLG. -
Not really a leak but more of an interesting tidbit of info, but a friend in a Discord server was trying to find more info about the sets in Polish shops, and I think a found the preliminary/codename for Vidyio - Harlem. Unfortunately none of the listings had pictures, but we're just 1.5 months away from March so I'm expecting leaks/reveals to show up in the next few weeks.

I have to say that really looks amazing, and it's almost tempting to sell off my technic mack truck to make space for it, even though at the same time I still want the Fiat. Argh limited shelf space! The new curved mudguard piece is also very neat - I wonder what other sets it'll show up in, and the only thing that comes in mind is a separatist AAT. -

I have a feeling there might be something more going on with Arishem (but still wouldn't justify the crazy price/piece ratio) - there's 2 opalescent clear-looking disks at his feet, not sure if they're dish pieces or thin plastic vinyl. -

They took a considerable risk doing 4 sets out of a relatively obscure marvel property but IMO it paid off - they look amazing! Now to see if they do sell well... I can't be the only one who immediately thought of a pizza slice for the spaceship set, right? -
Another entry for dan.ko56 ‘s speederbike challenge on Instagram - a more urban/tuner version of the TT speederbike I posted a few days ago. LEGO Ninjago 2021
admiral_typhoon replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Last post about this to not go too off-topic (and if the argument continues I guess a separate topic should be made) - a LUG member pointed out to me around 1:48 you can see again the palette where some transparent colours (Tr. red, orange and bright green) and transparent opalescent colours also have that yellow sticker, as well as coral having that sticker in 0:34 (353 is the colour code for coral). Now, unless things are really, really bad at Billund (which sounds ironic as part of their early 2000's almost-downfall was partially due to too many colours/parts) I doubt they'd retire these relatively new colours/effects - therefore I don't think trans. neon orange is retiring. EDIT: I noticed the stickers have dates on them - the 360 opalescent colour says 2023 while Coral says 2022. So it is possible they do actually retire, just not immediate from next year. -

Kinda surprised to see trans. neon orange go, but with the ninjago videogame season over, the only builds/characters that keep using this colour are MK bulls - I wonder what's gonna happen to them or if they're gonna be phased out completely. -

Unless there's something at the back that we're not seeing, I feel this will be a similar discussion as the modular bookstore - for a set with "Gardens" in its name, 2 trees doesn't really seem convincing. I do like the other details and especially the tower, it's very cyberpunk-ish. Also this seems to be a corner city set, not a straight one like the Docks. -

Thank you! I was originally going to use the speed champions rims in white but I opted for the cores since they give it a more "high corp tech" look.
