LEGOcon - 26th June announcement
admiral_typhoon replied to Legochaek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It seems the announcement was for none other than their own convention - LEGOCon: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/lego-con Having seen other online cons from toy companies, the bar is so low it's almost set to the floor, but I'm sure the main draw for most people will just be the set reveals. -
A bigfig mech! That's a first. I really like how Pigsy's tank body looks like a noodle bowl, complete with giant chopsticks (those would've made great shoulder cannons, but I guess would've taken more parts).

the town hall has...3.5 floors? the roof of the belltower is removable but it's a semi-open space, so I don't really see it as a full-fledged floor. Technically yes, this should be the first 4-story modular. -

Who knew the best xmas present one could receive is the infinity gauntlet with all stones...This might be the first advent calendar I buy in 10 years! pretty sure there's only 2 pics of that, and it looks like a hulkbuster with sections replaced with colourful mech parts. and tbh -

After having seen again the leaked conccept art of Sakaar iron man, I honestly could see it happening: 1. it's Iron Man, and hulkbusters are easy to make & sell 2. as someone already said here earlier, the Steve Rogers IM armor is very militaristic and might have to introduce quite a few repaints of parts in sand/olive/dark green + maybe produce a ww2 Hydra Nazi figure 3. it would be easy for the designers to replace a lot of sections of this hulkbuster with random coloured parts (because that's honestly what it looks like to me) The only thing we don't know is who he would be faced against. I consider it a miracle if it does happen and they bring out again the Ragnarok Hulk figure just for this set. -

huh, I was expecting something the size of the GB firehouse, but it does nail the skyscraper look. -

oooo a giant screen like the last bugle set! ...it's gonna be a sticker, isn't it? -

I get your point, but there's also the factor that the first 3 sets you listed are buildings with small rooms, which would make them hard to access if they were fully enclosed and modular style. The Firehouse does open up, but if it was modular style with separate floors one could easily access inside. -

a bunch of different newspaper tile prints, JJJ's office having a resemblance to the Raimi version along with some of the newspapers hanging from the wall. Other than that I'm happy to learn about more comic easter eggs. Maybe Avengers/F4/Oscorp easter eggs? -

idk why people doubt about the back of the building. it has 3000+ pieces, and it's a set aimed at older fans/builders, of course it's going to be fully enclosed. -

Well at least it shows they're not messing up the reveals of D2C sets compared to their normal retail line... -

Yes, in August, along with the D+ CMF and the rumored New Asgard set. -

After seeing these sets in detail, I personally have high hopes for all that's coming next, especially the CMF, New Asgard and Sanctuary 2 sets. I expect the SM3 sets to once again be inaccurate considering how hard they're trying to hide the fact that Garfield and Macguire are showing up. EDIT: goddamnit I can never remember their names properly. -

A new poster for Loki has been shown...man I wish we could've gotten one of those TVA armored guards in the CMF. It also gives me the feeling that the Loki in the series will be the normal suit & tie one, not the Vote Loki costume. -

At the same time it seems like a good opportunity for a shop to be the first one to post the pics/listings to try and get a boost in sales. -

Did they say anything about the bigfig gauntlet showing up? Or does the set have only the mini gauntlet? -

Genuinely forgot the Gauntlet set was happening. If this is the quality we can expect from future MCU sets, future & past movies, I'm all for it. -

Retailers will probably put them up some weeks earlier. On the other hand - hopefully this means we get to see ALL sets, including new asgard and sanctuary, except the advent calender, which I think will show up in September. -

I genuinely did not mean that reference when I wrote it! Just to add to the reveal speculation fuel - 2 pics of 3 marvel legends figures leaked from Hasbro Pulse, a 2-pack of endgame tony and thanos and a figure of Odin, both with the same Infinity Saga boxart that were in the Quicksilver & Endgame Thor figures, which I assume will be revealed tomorrow. Seems like a good chance for lego to one-up Hasbro and reveal their IS set lineup.
