  1. It is clear that they think many adult sets don't need them as much as their regular sets. I think here we can at least feel relieved that we already have the main versions of Doc and Marty in minifig form.
  2. I think the main issue here is that (in my opinion) WB has not been handling DC movies as well as Marvel, which leads to our sad reality of having a meager DC Lego selection that is addicted to Batman. DC has so much high-quality content and potential for the big screen (one only needs to see their animated films), so I naively hope this will change in the future.
  3. Interesting to hear your perspective. I personally find the foal girl to be no different than what I would find in a city set. The examples you pointed our (space miner, Venus fly trap guy) strike me as things that are extremely different from what we would get in a set. In comparison, this feels like a boring figure to me, whose main selling point is her accessory. Since I am not big on accessories, that is why I don't find her appealing. But if you're after these minifigs because you want to use the parts for something else, I understand why you would find her more appealing. I am sure she will be popular with kids that like horses. I am skeptical that a kid would want the fig if she didn't come with the foal, but you have a point that Lego knows more about this than the rest of us.
  4. I have recently started noticing a trend that personally worries me, wherein plain figures occupy a CMF slot simply because they have an interesting accessory. It does seem like they think the foal in this case is the selling point for that figure. As someone who gets CMFs for the figures and not for their accessories, this is very disappointing to me as well.
  5. Surely the set would sell even better if they included some specific variants such as 1885 Marty and Doc. I don't really understand the logic of omitting the figures, when they have been used as bonus selling points for large sets. Unless they have something planned for the future, but if all these years of waiting have taught me anything, it is to keep my hopes down.
  6. We've been discussing this in a general BTTF thread. Feel free to join us!
  7. I don't know if it's because it's meant to be a figure for younger kids, but that Wolverine fig feels very plain to me, particularly around the legs. A bit of detailing on the legs would have made it look so much better. Regardless, I am excited that we'll be getting our first X-men set in a looong time.
  8. That ideas set is overrated, and I say that just going off from the market value. Ever since it was released, it has been heavily criticized owing to its blocky design. It does not have any of the slickness of the DeLorean at all. If you ever saw the original Cusoo model, it was actually better than what we ended up getting. That set is mostly good for the printed pieces, but that's about it. I agree with @Vindicare that we need a remake. One can dream and imagine a minifig scale GWP, similar to what they did with the '89 Batmobile.
  9. Oh, that is an interesting theory. It might be. He also has an interesting resemblance to the Matt Mason Scorpio figure from the 60s from Mattel. Matching magenta skin, purple suit, and antennae/eyes.
  10. Love that bard. Does he seem to be in dark turquoise or some tone of blue? I think it is dark turquoise, but I am unsure. Getting some strong classic forestman vibes from him, especially when comparing him to the red forestman. Also, what an amazing hat for the forest warrior! I have to admit him and the moon warrior are not exactly what I was hoping for, but they seem like interesting additions nonetheless.
  11. Oh somehow I hadn't thought of Lego when I heard about X-Men '97. I'd love to get Jim Lee versions of the X-Men, but I won't get my hopes up just yet. So far, there hasn't been a single Disney Plus show for which we got all the main characters. What If is, I think, the one for which we got the most figs, and yet there are some very notable holes.
  12. I had started to assume that this was a dead rumor since a few months back, but PromoBricks is reporting that a DeLorean is coming on April 2022 anyways: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-delorean-erscheint-2022/131071/ Set number 10300, 170 Euro. It can be made to look like the DeLoreans from parts 1 and 2. The wheels can be folded down. More from the Google translation of the above page: "The DeLorean has a detailed cockpit including a built-in flux compensator, the wing doors can of course be opened. The front hood of the vehicle can also be opened. A tool case and Marty's pink hoverboard should be included with the set as additional accessories. There will obviously not be any minifigures in the set, any more than light or sound effects." It is really disappointing to hear we won't get more minifigs. This hurts seeing how Playmobil has now produced most major figures for the movies. They even made a BTTF advent calendar! I guess it does bode well that Playmobil seems to have been selling well, though. Some were arguing that, after BTTF's 30th anniversary, merchandise for the movies would not be profitable, but it seems that is not the case. Really happy that we are now getting a more solid rumor (from PromoBricks) and that the set sounds good. Hope we get some figures at some point, but I won't be holding my breath for that.
  13. I'd even argue that, given the intricacy of the printing, it is above average for the standards of today's minifigs.
  14. Pictures of the classic spaceman plushies have showed up in red, white, blue, and pink. Also, I did notice on the ad that they include tanks. I think I will be picking up one or two colors!
  15. It is hard to conceive of better designs for those figs than the ones they got in that theme. Those minifigs are pretty much as detailed as it gets without getting into custom fig territory. The selection range and quality of designs for TLBM has been unmatched among any other Batman minifigure waves. I doubt we'll see any improvement on those for the foreseeable future, asides from the possible inclusion of a couple of minor villains (ventriloquist) and a minifig-sized Clayface.
  16. Oh crap, I hadn't realized this one is much bigger than the previous one. Given that the Hulkbuster is quite bulky, I cannot even begin to imagine the nightmare of trying to find space for a 50 cm one. At least the Saturn V Rocket was slim and could be split. Technically, if you double the size, you might get x8 the pieces. Think of, for instance, having a cube, and you now double the dimensions in each of the 3 directions. You get 8x the original volume. In this case, though, they can probably avoid getting to x8 the number of pieces by using some larger components. However, you should expect way more than 2x the number of pieces.
  17. I am not sure who needs two UCS Hulkbusters, but it certainly isn't me. I will pass on this big fella.
  18. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the outside packet is and has always been recyclable. Probably not as easy to recycle as cardboard boxes, though, and most people might not go through the trouble. I really think they should start giving people the option of buying a full set of figures.
  19. Didn't Benny's Spaceship do extremely well in spite of ongoing Star Wars sets? That would give me some hope... Also, the plushy spaceman is probably pink. Hopefully we get more colors! https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-and-target-team-up-for-an-exclusive-us-only-merchandise-collection/
  20. Well, the crux of it seems to be that children aren't interested in sci-fi space themes anymore, right? At least that is the collective wisdom I've heard here on EB... That puzzle seems more directed towards AFOLs. I think Lego is aware to some extent that there are AFOLs interested in the classic themes (Space, Castle, and Pirates), and you can start to see them direct some large sets towards them. The Pirates of Barracuda Bay set springs to mind. In due time, I expect a large classic space type set, probably within the next 10 years. But it clearly is not an urgent priority for them.
  21. Ohhhh I hadn't realized that! I have always wanted some of the printed pieces from Desert Adventurers. I might be picking one up. Thanks!
  22. Just to be sure, that piece with the Egyptian pattern is not someting you got from Bricks and Pieces, is it?
  23. I could see them doing a CMF with one fig from multiple teams, but one, there would always be people upset that their country was not included, and two, it sounds like a nightmare in terms of licensing.
  24. I am also holding some optimistic hope that Gonzo might come with Rizzo as an accessory.
