  1. I hadn't noticed that. Back in the day, I was surprised they used red bags, given how the Lego logo and the Series logo both are red. I imagine that's probably why it doesn't get used anymore.
  2. Wow, thanks for sharing such a neat collection! I wish I had the two blue wizards, the green wizard, the ice king, Mrs. Claus, the forestman, and maybe the new knight. Also, I was not aware that there existed a white knight helmet too. I'm tempted to pick up the pack with the medieval figures, but I can't spend too much on BAM!
  3. Darn right, that might actually have something to do with it.
  4. I never got why purple is thought of as a "girly" color. It might be the country that I grew up in, but I only became aware that people have that association when I grew up. It's silly, of course, since this is all arbitrary (AFAIK blue being a "boy" color and pink being a "girl" color is something that started in the 80s).
  5. I lost hope for that a long time ago. The part that annoys me the most is, even if we get purple bags now, for most of the rest of the colors we only have the original style bags (not the larger ones). I guess I'm one of the few people that saves a bag or two for each series, and I am sad that my classic bags will never form a full color spectrum.
  6. I think they know this. A $1 increase on a CMF represents a 20% increase in price for what is meant to be an impulse buy. I would expect them to throw the price increases towards some of the pricier sets that are less likely to take a hit in purchases. Granted, I'm no economist, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.
  7. Hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Inflation is real.
  8. For some reason, I feel the execution behind the nano gauntlet was better than the infinity gauntlet, and I can't really point out exactly why. Perhaps it has to do with the proportions or the amount of exposed studs.
  9. Oh I had missed this leak because at first glance I just thought it was a good custom popping up on my feed. Looks good, but I am more excited for Zombie Strange!
  10. The minifigure was introduced in 1978, though, so we're likely talking about 44 years of minifigs to select from. You are right, though. The Search-and-Find book they released recently includes most themes across their history, and I think it had a good balance. They might even throw a Ninjago figure in there, since it's such a huge part of their history (even if we already have enough Ninjago minifigs).
  11. Solid list! I'd stick with Hotep or Achu for #11. Also, a forestman would be an interesting option for #5 (but this is moot since we are getting new ones this year). I don't think we'll see that visor piece again, at least without some modifications. It broke very easily. I believe it was even made from a slightly different material.
  12. sad to hear. End of an era. I loved the tradition of your reviews for the years they lasted. Your S2 review was pivotal in making me decide to start collecting CMFs way back in 2011. Sorry to hear EB won't be getting review sets, and thanks for all of the love and dedication you put into those reviews!
  13. I'd love to see a revival of Space with multiple factions getting released at the same time. Sadly, I think the times for that are gone for the foreseeable future. Lego just hasn't bet on space in a long time.
  14. You had my vote the minute I saw it within the candidates! How have we never had such a solar system set? And what's not to love about a purple spaceman? It's unfortunate that they didn't release an "undamaged" version of that torso with the TLM sets. If you want to avoid the re-release torsos from ~10 years ago, maybe your current best option is the torso from the party Benny, which is still quite different. I have a hunch that Lego now knows and understands that classic space figure pieces are in high demand among the fans, so I suspect we might see more of these pieces in the future.
  15. Nah, that's a solid figure. One of my top favorite Space figures of all time (although I know some people don't like the style of UFO). To be honest, I'd like both. But you already know I'm a sucker for Space.
  16. I don't know if this is true for "most people". I've seen several Iron Man collections that include those, and I think that whoever was collecting Iron Man minifigs at the time those were released got those. Of course, the question is how many people started collecting after that and missed out as a result. I am not convinced this is most people. I do see your point in that several people missed out and would welcome a re-release. This is always one of those cases in which people who didn't miss out will push for new suits, while people who missed out will push for re-releases. I don't think we'll get anything more Iron Man-focused than the hall of armor sets and their additions. We didn't get a hall of armor until years after Iron Man 3, so I guess we should feel lucky!
  17. If we were to see a classic spaceman in a future series, I'd love dark turquoise, glow in the dark, chrome, pearl gold, or flat silver. I wouldn't mind if some of the other pieces were more "exotic" (such as the S22 Alien), as long as we get the tanks, helmet, and torso, and I can go around and make my astronaut with official parts. Agreed on all points.
  18. Teeechnically if you remove the visor and change the face on the green spaceman to be the classic smiley face (to match all others) it becomes a purist custom. I am also a stickler for official figs, so I just ended up getting myself an extra green spaceman figure to make one that looks like the other astronauts.
  19. Yep, those three are all technically purist customs.
  20. It would be so nice if Lego in their infinite generosity included spare classic helmets and tanks in the set to complete the spacemen that are incomplete (purple, green, and gray). It would also be nice if we got a black astronaut soon so that those that missed out on the originals can get a new one.
  21. So glad I didn't shell out for the Inquisitor, especially given that it has that Rebels-style simplicity. The Kaminoan looks perfect. This year will be hard to budget!
  22. Thanks, but technically, the picture is not mine. I have some of these but not all. It's hard to keep up! https://www.brickfanatics.com/how-to-purple-lego-classic-space-minifigure/
