10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I missed out on peasants and I can't bring myself to pay the aftermarket prices. I echo what others have said about being excited for civilian figs. One can easily assemble a representative collection of knights from 2010 onwards.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hoping I can get my hands on the GWP as a newly minted Castle fan with a very small Castle collection. I don't know what to think of the forestmen figures. They seem to have the simplicity of old figures but yet some updated prints. My eyes might be deceiving me, but I think I see some yellow patterns on the forestwoman's torso. If that's the case, then I'll probably be picking up at least the figs.- 2,976 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hope the new design grows on me, but I'm not a big fan at a first glance, mostly because of how oversized it looks. I got used to the original one, which also looked oversized at first, so I hope I'll get used to it. -
71033 LEGO Muppets CMF Series - Rumors & Discussion

I have finally had a chance to see these in person and I think they're gorgeous. Lego did a perfect job with the series. -

I hadn't heard of this. This would be great. I do wonder if Lego left out 1885 Marty and Doc out of this set on purpose, since that leaves out the possibility of including them in a minifig-scale DeLorean... Thanks for sharing these mods! -

Saw that too. I know that's a different color than the old gray helmets, but you have to wonder if it will bring down the prices for those. -

I think this'll be one of those sets that sits on shelves until it gets discounted. Even at 20%, I don't know if it would be worth the price tag... -
LEGO Store "Build a Minifigure"
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to 22kane's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Tempting wizard! It's the third BAM one so far as far as I can tell. Seems like a popular inclusion. Odd inclusion of SW prints on the other figs... I thought Lego wasn't allowed to do that? Over on Bricklink there are some entries for BAM figs with the correct assembly for each, although I think at this point it's outdated and some of the 2021 figures haven't been added yet. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
As someone who used B&P mainly for minifig pieces, I am sad to see those go, potentially for good. I know we'll still have the BAM online, but that won't cover minifigs that come in sets. I'll be disappointed if the opportunity to buy those (unlicensed) minifigs loose is gone, but not entirely surprised. -

I really think they could do some great sales with either a minifig scale time train or train DeLorean + locomotive. The train scene is so memorable and exciting that I think it would be great for a playset. -

Some interesting mods for the model, including train wheels: I hope so! I think they have a good relationship with Universal. Now that they target adults with some of their products, I think the odds of any us getting any additional BTTF-related sets are as good as ever. We might just have to wait for a while. -
LEGO Store "Build a Minifigure"
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to 22kane's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They call them Easter minifigs, but in reality they're just the Bear, chicken suit kid, and butterfly girl: This was in the northeast, but I'd just recommend calling your store. -

For anybody looking to buy the set, it might be worth keeping an eye on your local stores. I've read on Reddit that somebody's store gets new stock on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I just went to my local store today to buy something else and was very excited when I saw the built model. Surprisingly, I then found three DeLoreans on the store shelves, and I took one of them home! I was not expecting to buy it on this trip, and I was hoping to buy it at a later time. However, given that I have waited years for this set and that I had just seen it built, I couldn't resist! -

Yeah, if you look hard enough, you can observe these too on non-transparent legs. -

This is great to hear. Do friction pins lose their friction noticeably over time? And would you happen to have a picture of how the car looks with the doors held open? It must look really cool! -

It was released on April 1st, but don't worry! It says "temporarily sold out", which is completely normal for a new, popular release. That means they'll make more and in due time, anyone interested in one will be able to buy one. If anything, the fact that it sold so well hopefully shows to Lego that this franchise has potential! -

Here is an interview with the set designers: https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-back-to-the-future-delorean-designer-interview-sven-franic/ Interesting tidbits: They purposefully gave us the BTTF Part II figures to give us new minifigs. They don't have the technology do to every piece in drum-lacquered silver. They used a robot to test the wheel mechanism a bunch of times. They avoided the question regarding why the word "DeLorean" does not feature prominently on the set. They tried to have the doors stay open, but they couldn't without sacrificing stability. -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My unpopular opinion regarding minifigure heads: I dislike alternate faces on most minifigs, at least when they are not completely concealed by the figure's hairpiece. To be honest, I don't frequently flip the expressions on my figures, so I don't care much about the added value of an extra expression. Having minifigs look like Quirrell trying to casually hide an extra face on the back of their head is annoying to me.
