  1. Wow that's an unusual opinion (or so I think). What can I say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  2. What are your stories? Ever had a valuable Lego package lost? Ever found it? Today, something very amusing happened to me regarding a lost package. I placed an order on Bricklink for some figures, with a total value of around $50, on March. The package was sent at the end of that month. However, as TWO months passed by, I thought I would never see my package. I tried everything to track this package, even contacting the seller, to no avail. Then of course, I assumed I would never get it, and forgot about it. However, today, exactly on September 9th, which is coincidentally Children's Day here, my package was found! (OK, I'm no kid, but I'm young enough to still feel something on Children's Day ) I have already opened it, and my figures are already safe and warm at home. So, any interesting stories regarding lost packages? Some make us irate, heartbroken, or joyful. What are your stories?
  3. You're right in that the white Fett guy is clearly less popular since it's based on Ralph McQuarrie concept art, but to tell you the truth, the chrome Vader appealed to me as much as the chrome 3PO. My only guess is that the chrome 3PO is more movie accurate, limited, and humans are biased by anything that looks golden. Besides, Lego did make much more of a hype for the chrome C-3POs. I think this could explain it.
  4. Cool. I'd have liked it it Lego's cursed Barbossa looked more like this. Their version is naked except for his hat and boots!
  5. I'm on the opposite situation: I opened mine and would love to get a second one to keep unopened. Your situation is much easier than mine! One question, though. It is rumored that there were about 10,000 chrome Vaders and 10,000 white Boba Fetts. Why is the price difference with other promo figs so huge?
  6. However, the first picture of series 5 made us all think that the bags were going to be purple. Quite frankly, I wouldn't understand why Lego is using light blue and white before using purple and red. I wouldn't mind, though, if they do end up using those colors. But that is, of course, completely unimportant, since what really matters is what figs we get. I had already fallen in love with this series with the first pics, but the robot and Roman have made me love it even more. I think I'll be getting all of them, and yes, I suffer from OMBD Edit: Anybody knows when these might be released?
  7. No idea... Do you have an account on BTTF.com? I used to have one!
  8. This is probably among my favorites.
  9. You're right, maybe the format of the Space themes has changed not because of SW's fault, and SW no longer has such a negative impact over Space. However, I do think that Space hasn't resurrected in its full glory, because we no longer have so many Space subthemes at the same time. As you say, this isn't because of SW, but this doesn't mean Space is back at its full, at least in my opinion. But of course we're speaking off-topic.
  10. -The Legends Metroliner and Club Car. -Burlington Northern Santa Fe -Santa Fe Super Chief -One of each Santa Fe wagons -10014 Caboose -4512 Cargo Train -6990 and 6991 I don't know about getting any more trains. They take up too much space. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind owning a Maersk train or a 6399.
  11. That is a beautiful locomotive.
  12. I used to overlook this set as I wasn't a fan of Aquazone. However, I now find it incredible! I think that I would even like to own one. Aquazone might as well have just got a new fan!
  13. I like it! In my opinion, it's better than some of the Alien Conquest ships.
  14. I like it. I would buy it if Lego sold it.
  15. I see myself with a shirt from one of the top US colleges, smiling, doing who knows what with technology, surrounded by even more friends.
  16. That is so true ... I believe that Lego put more of its creativity into Space than it does into SW. After all, all SW ships have already been designed. And what about us who are not huge SW fans? Hopefully Space will someday resurrect in its full glory. However, I don't think that a LOTR theme would span so many years. I would actually like to see a licensed theme of this. In about 5 years, at most, castle would be back, I think.
  17. Probably some humongous Space base with a lot of ships. That would of course, be worth a fortune. But hey, no limitations right? As I like to say, thinking only in realistic terms can be boring.
  18. It all depends. Sometimes, I like the classic looks of angles. This if I want a more classic look, maybe even reminiscent of old sci-fi films. Other times, however, it is nice to see curves because they look more futuristic. I guess I like both, but depending on the kind of model, I can prefer one over the other.
  19. What kind of plastic does this happen with? How long does it take? I haven't been able to observe this effect.
  20. Some time ago, TLG wanted to know who had the largest minifigure collection in the world. You can read this article on The Brothers Brick. However, the outcome was never announced, and that article is more than two years old. Do we know who has the largest minifigure collection? Also, it would be worth noticing that this depends on whether we count unique figures or total amount of figures. By the way, this is NOT a topic to discuss how many figures you've got (the mods have pointed out that belongs to this thread ). This topic has a different focus. However, if the mods believe that this topic belongs to that other one, or that this has been discussed before, please point me in the right direction, and even delete this topic if it isn't necessary.
  21. I agree here 100% with you. Right! I forgot about the pink-suited lady! Although I do feel pink is kind of cheesy, and would rather have one of the Classic Space colors, this is certainly a nice addition to the collection. Interesting pattern for me, is that series with even numbers are always among my favorite. Currently, my favorite series is 4, although 6 could take that title away!
  22. I'm sorry... all I knew came from that book. I would really like to help you, if I could. Hopefully somebody here will know how to solve the problem. Good luck!
  23. As a big BTTF fan, I always enjoy to see Lego BTTF creations. It's good! Thanks!
  24. I wasn't aware of that, and I own one. Maybe it'll be re-released someday, full chrome body. This minifigure got me out of my short dark ages. In late 2008, I learned about this promotion Lego had made in 2007. I loved the fig at first sight, and managed to get one sealed at just $75 (which, although fairly high for a minifigure, was cheap by the standards even at that moment). I was quickly drawn to minifigure collecting once more. So I have a special affection for this minifigure. It could even be my favorite one. Anyways, back on topic, I'm glad we finally got a review for this guy! Thanks!
