It's always nice to see someone begin a superproject of this quality. I wish I had as much talent and parts as you! I'll be looking forward for your updates. This already looks very good!

Your thoughts on Universe
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I was one of the lucky Betha testers, almost from the beginning. The game was very fun at least for some days (although we'd get everything wiped from time to time ) However, at some point I got bored, mainly for two reasons: -After you completed a certain amount of missions, there wasn't much to do regarding missions. -I don't find myself comfortable building on LU. I'd rather play with Lego in the real world, or make models in MLCAD. I'm glad that many are enjoying the game. Does this still happen, or is the game now more dynamic than before? -

Does this mean bad news for chrome C-3POs? Because that would break my heart. Can this be prevented? -
Well, I know a few AFOLs collect MISB sets. Personally, I don't find any reason to do so. However, I would like to understand the reasons of the people who do. So, why do you collect MISB sets, or why don't you? If you could afford it, would you do it? As for me, I find it hard to justify having a set ready to be assembled, and not assembling it. I feel like I'm enjoying 5% of the set, if at all. The only sets that I could keep MISB are those from the era in which Lego made boxes that had beautiful parts in display, but still, I don't. I only keep a couple of polybags sealed, and that is because I own others that I have opened. I do keep some keychains MISB, but those don't need to be opened in order to be assembled. So what are your thoughts? By the way, I'm sure that many collectors are proud of their MISB set collection, so let's all try to be respectful of their preferences. I think that none of us would like anybody telling us that he thinks there is no point in keeping our collection.

Ahhhhh, I love it! Looks very Blacktron and very modern too. Love the minifig by the way. Very spacey and mean-looking. Thanks for sharing! -Begins rant- WHY LEGO WHY? WHY ALIEN CONQUEST AND NO BLACKTRON III? -Ends rant

This town is amazing! Thanks for sharing! How did you get the darker skin color on the mexicans? -
I think that it does make a difference. Looks pretty good to me.

One of the funniest Lego pics I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing! -
I know I'll never own this, so thanks for sharing an actual picture of this rarity. I thought I would never see one. Why is the head slightly up, though?

That is awesome! And I think that you're right, this is probably what Lego Neo Seatron would probably look like. I don't think that I've ever seen a similar creation before. A theme with this style would be awesome. THANKS for sharing!

I got this as a birthday gift when I turned 7 years old or so. I can still remember the big box with the brown bridge in its display! So many hours of fun. One of the most amazing sets I own. A lot of play value. A true classic! -
My budget is proving to be more limited each time... This book looks so good. Can't imagine the whole amount of creations in there.

How to store Lego instructions?
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to legolijntje's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I store them in bags, and then put those bags in a plastic box that has a lot of paper stuff that I store away (letters, childhood drawings...). Works for the amount of instructions and catalogs I have. -
You obviously can't buy all that there is even when you are out of your Dark Ages. I regret not buying many of the trains that were released in the 2000s, especially the three Santa Fe cars that I was missing to complete the collection. I also regret missing most of the pre 2000 space sets because I was either too young or just plain my parents didn't buy them to me. I did have a lot of great sets from the era though.

Well, you can always use... I actually thought this was about that. But hey, it's not too bad an option.

how much time do you spend on LEGO?
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to happymark's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm usually too busy. But when I'm tired and I want to rest, I go to my computer and browse BL, Eurobricks, Brickset and eBay for Lego. And when I have A LOT of time, I'm actually able to take out my stuff. That's what happens when you have to make miracles to store your collection in your room. -
Napoleon and his army - Version 2.0

If you made a slideshow of these with the 1812 overture, it would look awesome. :cannon: I think it would also look very good if you managed somehow to put a Russian background in there. -
Spooky. Please post the film here when you're finished!
