  1. But thats exactly my complaint. Why do we need supersized and regular sized version of each vehicle? Its so painfully obvious bat vehicles are all this theme is perceived to be. I’d rather all those sets were just made as regular retail sets at mini figure scale because why do we need these giant display stands of lego bat vehicles? Why can’t it just be minifigure scaled and displayed like that? The new 66 Batmobile looks like it can be a great display piece and thats to scale. But I can’t have a sigh of relief because each time lego makes a bat vehicle I now take it we have to wait for regular versions and mega sized versions. And both get like maximum 3 figures. No leg printing. Lol. Maybe in ten years when we’ve gotten micro, mega, and regular sized builds for every batvehicle in existence, only then can we get a D2C for something else. Give me a break I hate this theme. As for the odds of us getting a Batcave on the 80’s bat films? I have a few thoughts; 1. Never say never, but I’d prefer one bat cave D2C with references and details of each 1980’s Burton era Bat film. I don’t need a bat cave for each film clogging up our future release dates for 4 years (it was 4 films wasn’t it?) one build with references to each and minifigures and scenes from each will do 2. this is much preferable to a mega sized bat vehicle. Its more deserving of the price point. I wish regular sized builds for all the bat builds was the route of choice. I get anxious thinking of lego releasing each bat vehicle at each size before finally moving onto a new concept. 3. besides a batcave, I’d love to see the parade float scene with inflatable clown and pink floats (+penguins duck float), a Gotham Museum break in, and maybe a regular D2C comic inspired Arkham with a cliff top prison layout inspired by the batman and Robin arkham escape scene.
  2. But why? Is it because of the pandemic? The first 12 figure series was released in the pandemic. Could it reflect lower sales which are a consequence of dwindling economies globally? Perhaps an increase cost of production in countries hard hit by the pandemic? I wonder why they brought it back to 12. And who knows, maybe the improvements of global economies (seems like a fever dream rn but never say never) can lead to lego returning to a 16 figure series? I’m hoping the smaller series is a bump in the road we eventually come back from.
  3. I was thinking they would recolor the mould, so speedy gonzales exact tail wasn’t the point in reference, just his mould. That said you’re right; the imp’s tail is pointed and more accurate to Nightcrawlers. Looking at the Disney Plus CMF lineup I gotta say I still wish they added another 10 figures based on the comics. Of course the new standard is 12 figures a series and they notched it up to 13. But seeing as how Disney and Harry Potter got 18 and 22, I would compare this license as close to as popular if not as popular as those two brands. I would have loved if they gave us 22 figures 11 based on Disney +, 11 on the comics similar to the Harry Potter series 1 (Fantastic Beasts/HP). A bit unlikely but I’d be glad if they made series 2 much bigger after series 1. Maybe if this series sells well enough they’ll produce a strong second wave
  4. Random thought but Speedy Gonzales’ tail would work great for Nightcrawler once we get him.
  5. Looking at the new Harry Potter sets got me thinking. What if we got a Toy Story set with the toys as minifigures and a brick built Andy? If you saw the brick built Hermione and Harry, IMO they look perfect and lego has nailed this giant figure hair to a tea. I’d personally love a brick built Andy playing with Lego Woody and Buzz. It would give some perspective to why they are made as minifigures.
  6. We don’t know because hints are hints and not clarified. There’s supposed to be a sense of uncertainty with all “hints”. That said, I have two possible interpretations: 1. Penguin is included in the upcoming Batvehicle D2C and it most likely confirms the vehicle is from Batman Returns. 2. Penguin is a character in next years the Batman, which was supposed to release this year (as were its sets). Potentially since the sets were supposed to release this year, some sort of production has begun but was held back? So maybe a minifig of the new DCCU Penguin could leak a year before the movie? Unlikely so I’m going to guess the D2C is based on Batman Returns. But I’m so confused as to how this D2C is a Batvehicle. There are no missing Batvehicles from the Burton era no? I could see how the Adam West era likely has builds missing. And if Lego wants to supersize every Batvehicle I guess from that lense only 3 Bat-vehicles have been supersized (Tumbler, Burton Batwing and Batmobile). So they could always make a set with a gargantuan 60’s Batcopter and Batmobile each. But besides that I think we’ve gotten pretty much every major cinematic batvehicle (60’s/80’s/comics/nolan/modern) in some capacity. But if lego is looking to supersize all these builds, the Flying Fox has been made to minifigure scale, as was the Tumbler and Batwing of 08 and ‘13 respectively. In that sense I’d like to see the Burton batcave, or Penguin lair, or Parade Floats, but I’m like what is it gonna be as another Bat-vehicle? A new concept? Or a supersized version of something we already got? Ugh
  7. At $300 I’m excited to see the Bugle. Most modulars are around $150-$200, I personally hope we don’t get side builds and just get our first Lego skyscraper. However, the height of most modulars is decent enough, a side build could maybe bulk up the street view of the building better. So if the price makes it taller than usual I’d prefer that but a side build would give it that full NYC vibe. Also interested to see if they do a direct comic interpretation, inspiration from the early 2000’s movies, or a creative design choice on the designers part.
  8. So there’s a possibility that this theme sells fine and receives a small amount of sets because of personal preferences on designers part and we would never know? Not saying thats true, the small set count is most likely related to sales, but this means that we really don’t know the inner workings of why this theme is the way it is. I’ll take that as a sign of hope that things can improve in both set quantity and quality over the coning years and we shouldn’t write that off. Alternatively, years of no set releases and just character packs and junior sets and mosaics and busts here and there could be the remainder of this themes future. That kind of uncertainty is what drives conversation about where this theme is headed. But fingers crossed. that’d be so cool. Obviously unlikely but I’d like to see Mad Hatter with a new mould including his tuft of hair, but reusing the hat from TLBM penguin seems like an adequate choice. I’d welcome a Batgirl vs Mad Hatter and Clayface set featuring minifig clayface and classic Batgirl with dual molded legs. One could dream... please lego revive this theme
  9. Has DC been having strong sales lately? I hope that’s true I really want Lego to revive this theme. Is there a reliable place to see lego sales data per theme? I hope we eventually get a mini fig clayface with this mould. But unpopular opinion i enjoyed the brick built clayface that came in the Batcave. He just needed his back to be bulked out more.
  10. There’s a point to be made there however. Every single new Vidiyo figure in this wave has leg print. Many have hip print and a few have arm printing. A lot of new moulds have been created (3 new wings!) and while most are repurpose-able, there’s a point to be made that an in house theme that likely won’t last more than 3 years has less of a demand than one of the brands most successful themes, and the prints should reflect that. If Lego has to budget which themes get quality detail, it makes sense to prioritize the Marvel line which has a huge following as opposed to the vidiyo fanbase which exists but not at this scale. Lego Marvel is very successful and popular and it’d be nice if the quality of the figures reflected that. This theme looks cheap when it really turns a profit.
  11. Which is a shame because he really needs new hairpiece. His hair in endgame was gorgeous and would be so useful if introduced in Lego. That half up half down Viking hair do is glorious if recolored wow it’d make for such a pretty hair piece. It seems they’re reusing a piece that has only one strand of hair over the shoulder. Unsure how people are saying it looks like Aquamans piece as that does fall over both shoulders. Looks like gamoras hair to me
  12. I don’t buy this theme but i just wanted to opine. Looking at the buildable character pack I realize how convenient it is to brick build all these characters because of the size and detail each requires. If it was smaller I can imagine lego being faced with the reality of making each a specialized piece. With this format Lego makes the character packs do-able, and Mario looks very chibi like. He looks exactly like the overhead view of modern Nintendo character animations. He looks perfect. And the mechanism of the connectable video game like builds to me, is genius. I agree a minifigure scale Bowser final battle set is definitely a must have and buy, and the expense of adding a new theme is why I don’t indulge in these but I think they’re neat. Maybe buying them physically may change my mind but as of now I see the scale good for • creating a building system that works like a video game • recreating the chibi like design of Nintendo DS characters • effectively introducing the charcter pack designs with as little new moulds as possible • creating a system bulky enough so kids can throw the characters around like a video game without losing small parts. I’d love to see a mini figure scale set, but this current system I think is genius. Edit: just found out about the power up pack suits. I guess Lego could print those different designs on torsos and legs and produce only the hat swap pieces as peg-ons to a hole in a minifig scale hairpiece, but that ability to swap costumes also works so perfectly for this line. I think the system lego introduced is genius for Nintendo Mario. He looks like a video game design, the builds connect like a video game, his suits are customizable , its genius.
  13. Just saw the new Vidiyo leaks and all I have to say is I wish Lego put that much energy in their figure designs in superheroes as they do for in house themes like that and Chima (two themes that got leg printing more often than Marvel). This theme is wayy bigger than almost any other besides Star Wars I’d love to see waves where every single mini figure has leg printing. Yes that is right check the figure leaks every single Vidiyo figure in wave 2 (Bandmates included) got leg printing. Some even got arm printing. Would love to see that effort put here Also really excited to see the full new Thor. From the angle we got of the new leak (assuming its finalized) his hair only parts on one end which makes no sense because his hair falls on both shoulders in the movie design. As a matter of fact it looks like he’s using the Gamora/Black Widow/ Storm/Supergirl/Black Cat/hairpiece. I’ll wait to see the full picture but like if Vidiyo got all those new moulds and he reuses that annoying megablocks hairpiece it would be such a let down. Mind you I don’t buy MCU sets but like from what I’ve seem so far these legacy sets may as well be made again because Lego did NOT nail the figure selection or accuracy in this wave. Detail is lacking and it really shows all the legacy figure leaks so far have been very disappointing.
  14. I agree. Its euphoric seeing such outlandish designs with such amazing new moulds and prints. This series holds a high standard for both build and figure quality imo. Although I don’t really “get” the beatboxes. Thoughts on the new leaks 43108 Bandmates Series 2 -> • Blue Dragon, Marceline Guitarist, and Slimer Dude are some of the best minifigures ever. Of all series. That slimy headpiece would work well for Clayface over at DC. Pink Gummy Bear man and BeatBox Head are amazing as well. Besides them only interested in the Kimono Mermaid so I won’t be collecting as great a portion as i did series 1. As opposed to skipping out on 3, I’m skipping out on half the set. But maybe I’ll pick up the Carnival Man, his reuse of the series 21 headpiece is stunning. Love the attention to detail 43109 Metal Dragon - love the figure, looks like the mould from the series 18 Dragon Suit Guy but fully enclosed and I was always hoping they’d make a mould like that so this is perfect. Love the wings. 43110 Folk Fairy - that figure is so good I lost sight of how little interest I have in the beatbox itself 43111 Candy Castle - wow this works amazing for the price. Sorta wish it was bigger just because it looks so good. Amazing how its pretty completed despite being such a small set ($30). Love the front and back looks like such a completed idea 43112 Robocar - a bit too much going on for me and the figures don’t stand out. Pass for me hut I imagine kids will love it 43113 K-Pawp Stage - stage looks amazing and the colors are great. Love the unicorn head build (all the animal head builds look good) but the large stage is enough for me trying to save money and these figures are nothing special to me so a pass 43114 Punk Pirate Ship - love this so much. These sets rock. The new hair on that mermaid is so cool. The designs blend well here, I’m like wow I never knew I needed pirates that made music. I always had competing pirate clans but this is just such a smart concept I didn’t know I needed. It also appears to have 2 builds, ship and base similar to the Barracuda Bay build. Lovely but wish it was 10-20 dollars cheaper 43115 Boom Box - God these figures are so good. Love how it looks as a boom box and love it as a stage. So worth it surprisingly love this set. tl;dr I’m only skipping 2 sets (Robo-Car and K-Pawp stage) and 6 cmf figures (maybe 5). These designs are so detailed and creative and the builds are so well thought out. I don’t care for the app this theme is amazing to me for the concepts and builds alone.
  15. Same here, my local Barnes and Noble is notorious for having expired sets long after they retire simply because they don’t dispose of sets and carry them until they sell. I got the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship like 3 years after it retired because Barnes and Noble still carried it. Anyhow, they had the DC series recently and only waiting a few weeks to go pick it up and it sold out. If it wasn’t selling well I would have been able to wait some time before deciding to grab some. I really hope they sold well because I would love a series 2. I just want to remind myself and others how unexpected the 2015 and 2018 Justice League waves were and how we can still be caught off guard by an upcoming product in this theme. I still have hope because I truly want more out of this theme. I want an updated Hawkgirl, Black Canary, Vixen, Batgirl, and Gorilla Grodd. I wlso want new figures of Livewire, Doctor Fate, and Captain Atom. Hopefully Lego miraculously turns the tide on this theme. But as I’ve said before DC needs to get its act together to incentivize that. Edit; did you guys see the Vidiyo leaks? The slimer guy (green Bandmate figure) has a new head piece that would work perfectly for a minifigure scaled Clayface.
  16. I agree Tweety is overscaled and should have been a small accessory like Ducky was in the Toy Story 4 line. I once thought Petunia was an odd choice butI somewhat wanted obscure characters to be included. If anything what makes her really stick out is she’s the only non mainstream character. Speedy is also not as big as the rest but even he is a fairly household name among certain age groups. I think if at least one more figure had been included in that C-Tier than she wouldn’t stick out so much. But imagine they wasted all the big characters in the first series? I’m personally really excited that Series 2 will include Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam and Grandma. If Simpsons got a second series I think Looney Tunes probably will as well. And we have a good amount of prominent characters that have yet to be made. I actually hope we get a second Petunia, based on her modern depictions (kind of Punk piggie). 3 new moulds? I think he only has 2. Funny Road Runner is actually the figure I came to appreciate the most as I also thought he shouldn’t have been a figure. But unlike Tweety he grew on me.
  17. Lego store employee? I don’t know man what applies to one store may not hold true globally. Until I can see official sales data and compare that with other official cmf series I won’t take this at face value.
  18. From what I gather Lego isn’t communicating their lack of supply for a product correctly?
  19. Maybe he was referring to the 6 pack bundle? i’d love a set but we’ve heard nothing from any reputable sources and this sounds like a comment about a product that has been in production. I’d be happy for a set but doubt it will happen. At least this soon. I assume the theme would sell well but Scooby Doo only lasted one wave so who knows. Hopefully if we do get sets we cover both classic and modern stuff. I’d love Tina Russo, and Petunia Pig in their modern depictions, but I guess that could happen in a second cmf series.
  20. So is there a chance it could pop up early in May? Or has it been confirmed to be June at the earliest? I know I already responded to this but what if Punisher gets a substantial role in an animated series? We got White Tiger and Nova because of their Ultimate Spiderman cartoon appearances, you seem annoyed at the Deadpool comparisons but I think its valid. He has both R rated and kid friendly depictions and as long as a character has both they’re fair game and any Marvel character is fair game to see in a cartoon aimed for kids so the way I see it nothing is stopping Punisher from receiving his own set.
  21. So the bugle releases in June correct?
  22. So its because he’s R rated? Idk man I think even receiving Punisher in the bugle sets enough precedent that he can be made.
  23. ? Says who? Is it because of the bloated slate of releases for the MCU in the future? Well we see that Marvel is willing to cover the disney plus properties in a cmf format and not through sets, and who’s to say they won’t squeeze a comic wave into a year packed with movies. We’re getting Eternals, Shang Chi, Legacy sets and a Disney Plus cmf alongside a small spidey wave this year. They can always make room for more. If its because of his violence than consider characters like Ghost Rider and Deadpool receiving sets. And if its because of his popularity consider all it takes is a few prominent cartoon appearances to get audiences familiar enough for you to get your own set (White Tiger, Iron Fist, Power Man, Nova), even Ghost Rider’s set came at a time where he had no prominent cartoon or TV appearances going on. There are no rules to who can get a set and Marvel is so popular we’ve consistently seen over the years that Lego is willing to try new things with the theme.
  24. Regardless his belt piece is on his belt which is his waist which is his hip, should be printed on his hip. I personally hope he doesn’t get his van in this set so 1. It doesn’t detract from the structure of the build, and 2. We can get a regular set with Punisher and his van that fixes the smilry face and gives him a stern face, maybe a different hairpiece but really more appropriate printing. It’d be nice if Lego made a cloth coat piece for him, but many depictions don’t need it. I just wish we got little details like his hip straddle and gun printed on the side of his leg and his belt piece printed on. He’s a figure thats alright now but would do good to be upgraded in the future.
  25. They should start doing this with every cmf series. I’d love to be able to guarantee that I won’t get duplicates when buying blind packs online
