  1. I definitely think it should be on its own, I’m thinking on a baseplate of water that has a small ring of stone around it, then connected to the wider Ninjago city waterways. I really wish it did come with that base though, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Also we are all assuming that build on the wall in the temple is definitely the tournament temple city right? It looks absolutely beautiful. Hopefully it has a water base so it can somewhat interact with the ninjago city modulars as a baseplate behind the city, not actually connected to it in any way (say you had a full square of city sets, in a 3x3 pattern, the TTC would go in the centre).
  2. Just realised I never got round to posting my thoughts, so better late than never: Young dragon Riyu - absolutely awesome impulse buy set, comes with new Sora hair and regular Arin, plus a wolf dude, which is nice to get another given the large army seen in trailers. Apart from the hair not much else going on figure wise. Riyu is an interesting build, all the images on the page do him dirty though. He looks much better in the 360 video, but I can’t lie the head looks awful from most angles over than side on. Like a confused owl most of the time. for £13 though it’s a solid deal. Can’t complain. Lloyds elemental mech - another mech, ok? Lloyd and Nya are cool but come with Egalt anyways. Unless you want it for parts or for the mech combo feature, there’s nothing really going for it (apart from a cheap way to get cinder I guess). Decent price for what you get if it’s similar to Sora’s mech. Arins buggy - very sleek build, I like the look of it. Quite similar to the rock roader which is one of my favourite ninjago sets, the back wings look awesome, cool hook and suspension. Figs are alright, climber Cole is absolutely stellar, love his suit, cinder again and Arin and wolf mask. I love the big wheels too, always happy to see those in a cheap set. Except it’s not. It’s £45. Absolutely ridiculous, I feel so bad for the designer who had to see this go for a ludicrous discount before it can be brought. I echo the sentiment that I hope Lego takes this as “overpriced won’t sell” not “Arin won’t sell”. hopefully it’s much bigger in hand. Climber Kai mech - Ok this is incredibly cool. I’ve had a sketch MOC on my table for a while with the same leg design, so it’s actually really cool to see an official set with the same (albeit likely sturdier) design. When I saw the leaks of this I wasn’t sold on its spindly limbs but I’ve done a complete 180, I love its overall stance and design language. Very pacific rim crimson typhoon like. Big muscular shoulders are good, and the mounting of the second set of arms are great. I don’t like the lack of elbows, that’s a definite downside but it also makes up for it by introducing the EVO joints in black, shame we didn’t get those for the venom mech. Double swords are cool, and the cockpit is pretty exposed which is less cool. I’m with Jang on this one, Cockpits should be fully enclosed. The second arm set is also so damn cool, my MOC has a tiny set of arms then a much bigger one like the EVO combo mech, but I’m considering just giving it 4 big arms. Better to stay different though, they’re similar enough as is. Getting back on track, I love the new hook parts, and the fact it can just hang on the cable is an amazing play feature. I can’t wait to see this thing in animation. Figs are alright, Climber Kai, Jay and Wyldfire are the big draws, shame we get Jordana AGAIN though. After 4 figs in the £25 Kai mech set I’d expect more for one more than double it’s size and price. Speaking of which, It’s also decently priced, I’m so glad it’s £60 and not £75 because that was flat out ridiculous for the Lloyd and Arin mechs. Minifig gripes aside, definitely a contender for favourite mech yet. Shadow dojo - This feels like classic Ninjago, big old temple with tons of play features, and a really fun look. Surprised at how accurate it is to the show. Figure selection is stunning, Nya, Kai, Lloyd and Zane all in climber suits, and the 4 main villain figs. Blood moon looks amazing, very foreboding, and the scenery around it is also cool. Matches what we see in the Sora mech. I love the arena at the front too. Temple itself feels a little sparse but I imagine the budget was stretched thin and far here, and at £105 it feels like a bit too much. £100 is a perfect price for it. Good nostalgic type of set. Dragon stone shrine - the other £105 set, this is the complete opposite of the dojo. This is modern Ninjago at its peak. A more challenging build, again, decent figures, although it’s a shame we won’t get Nyas Hood to go with her figure if anyone was missing it. Nice to see Lloyd in his new robes here, but he really deserves a cape. Euphrasia is amazing, glad we are getting her in a set so soon, but where the hell does she put all that hair under the hood? Ras is cool, and a new Wu, which may mean he’s back now (I hope not, I hope we don’t get just one season with missing characters and then that’s it all done back to status quo. I would have used the budget to upgrade Arin a bit I think). The build itself is beautiful, stunning scenery and location design. I like the temple inside with the Chi crystal and the hidden book. The tree is a wonderful touch too. Unfortunately it falls short at the price. £105 feels way too much for this, I get it’s a detailed and parts dense build but at the end of the day that doesn’t look like £105 worth of plastic. More around £70-80 I would say. Which is a shame because it’s obvious that designers have put a lot of love and care into it. I’ll grab it on sale eventually, but it’s going to be an expensive year. And thus ends my rambling of these sets, if you have read for this long I applaud you. Can’t wait to start seeing reviews of these sets appear now.
  3. Interestingly enough the replies show that the arm was designed to be a prosthetic “robot arm” but I think Doc is just saying that as he’s lead for the show.
  4. I was under the impression that the arm was a prosthetic from imperium given the colour scheme. Either way, it’s a cool design.
  5. I really meant in the show. She lost one arm and got a prosthetic, now she has 2 gold arms…
  6. Sora and Lloyd have leaked on another poster I guess in legoland, new shoulder armour with 2 sword holders parallel like skybound armour. Pad on right side. Sora has a new suit (at last) that looks awesome, and the new hair and half mask. I guess they decided to go all in on the hairpiece because of the prominence of it in the show for the next season. Can’t see much of Lloyd but he has the island hair. I really do wish that they didn’t retire those older moulds. Possible spoiler - Also I think Lloyd has arm printing, and Sora has 2 gold arms? I wonder if she loses one?
  7. Ah I just saw this! yeah, interested to see how this ties into the wave. I wonder if this means the forrest was in pre-merge ninjago. Damn reviews already!
  8. Yeah I just saw confirmed UK prices on brickset. I'll post my thoughts soon enough. As for Lloyds mech, it disappeared off lego.com for a while and I was wondering if it would be another technic osprey situation...
  9. I’m not gonna say much on the sets till prices are confirmed, but I will say the buggy is definitely the least interesting. No new Arin, and I have a Riyu and Jordana already. Also looks like the rock roader, but somewhat worse function wise. also yeah what happened to Lloyds mech? No way are they gonna cancel it because it didn’t appear in the shorts? Pics of it are plastered all over every mech box
  10. I feel like it’s important to spread the news if anyone’s interested in the show, we have finally started seeing monkie kid official soundtracks appear on the D.A. Office on soundcloud. They’re amazing! Also are we all in agreement that Nezhas mech is just gonna be doing cartwheels inside a giant ring of fire?
  11. Making my prediction now, before the set images appear tomorrow, I think Cole or Zane are gonna look the best in climber gear as the ninja appear to use a darker secondary colour for the armour and the regular colour for the hood (I don’t agree with this choice but nothing I can do) but Cole is already black on black, and that with gold on it would look amazing. Same with Zane, only i guess his will be in white. Praying they don’t use secondary colours like orange and azure. I do also think it’s ridiculous how Sora and Arin aren’t getting climber suits. I guess it’s just Riyu and Wildfire getting some love this year.
  12. Agreed with the comments about it being wildly different to what we imagined. Personally I saw a black base, giant stone dragon head, waterfall pouring out of its mouth and a river/pond in the center. Jungle environment around the stone head, and maybe a small temple or room inside the dragons mouth.
  13. Ok so looking at it more closely I can guess that this is where Wu has been chilling since the merge, maybe with an apprentice or whoever the unknown character is, as theres a teapot in the cave. It kinda sucks we dont get Nya with her full DRS1 suit, but Wu has new robes, and Lloyd has a (hopefully printed) scroll. Maybe the end of the season is just them finding Wu through a scroll or map. I do really like the tree and the water pond below it. The tree in particular is pretty beautiful. Im glad Ras is included too. I dont think he has arm printing. However, this is a preliminary, so the set may change in some way. I wouldn't be surprised if that character was swapped for Euphrasia, or if it used to be. Either way, I still feel like £100 is a bit much for the size of it. Hopefully theres something im not seeing that justifies it.
  14. Dragon stone temple has leaked. it’s stunning, I can’t lie. Wu, Kai, Nya (in season 1 robes with island hair) master Lloyd Ras and an unknown character with golden staff are included. Build is a Chinese dragon in a crescent moon shape, pool at the bottom and tree at its head, dragon itself is made of stone. It’s beautiful. Maybe a little small for £100 but still I love it.
  15. Yup. Another pic of Kais climbing mech has leaked. Have to say, not too hot on the look. I think it’s way to skinny for it to be an actual “climber” mech.
  16. Riyu has leaked. We are getting wave 1 Sora and Arin. But Sora finally has her accurate hair, which is amazing. That Riyu build though…. Wow. Certainly something. Hopefully it’s just the pose that makes it look awful.
  17. Zane has leaked for the next season/wave, coming from a video posted by “midway mayhem”. About Ninjago legoland, at 7:14 he’s on a poster on a wall (meet Ninjago hero’s), looks like sleeveless, dragon’s scales on the torso, white half mask and a new armour piece, similar to season 11 but in the opposite side now. Most similar to those seen in the mech shorts.
  18. I’m pretty sure it was confirmed that they designed Nyas mech to be a Titan mech, and didn’t really know it was going to be the samurai X mech until the last minute, so they added some bits onto it (I’m assuming that’s why the big red X looks a bit slapped on).
  19. Agreed, im so hyped to see the temple and buggy, and I also want to ask Toothdominos if he designed the climbing Kai mech and also is it considered part of the Titan mech series? Because I feel like it’s too small for a Titan mech, however we would get the full complete wave of Titan mechs with Cole’s in the summer then.
  20. Big set is called “tournament temple city” source - brickmerge. Wonder what it could be! I definitely think that this is connected to the “different arenas” mentioned in some interviews (I think it was with duckbricks). This definitely seems like something name dropped in the series that will come back later on. Very excited to see what it is. Part of me hopes it’s modular, “city” and all. Also if not I hope it’s on a big mountain. High up, like shintaro.
  21. Australian land train, hiding as a jungle set hahaha Seriously though what could it be?
  22. Half year. Took me a while to figure it out too.
  23. Whilst we wait, Im proud to present my newest module: Ninjago city heights! So if you have been following this moc, then you will know that the original premise has shifted pretty dramatically from ninjago city airdocks. Originally this was going to house an airship landing pad, however I struggled in making it fit in and also having the docking tower be structurally secure, and eventually I just left it off and changed pace. The module has several callbacks to previous ninjago city media, such as the 2 storey keet-orange and dark azure building being a major piece of concept art when developing the original ninjago city set, along with its tiled roof build which is similar to lloyds apartment in the old set, even having a battle suit in the attic! The ring on top of the green house also references the ninjago city tower, albeit in a less impressive fashion. The greenhouse itself is a combination of wanting a central tree but also keeping the more compact and "built" sense of the original city set, and the record store has a direct colour match from a previous sketch model I made as a building in ninjago city, retaining the red, dark nougat masonry bricks, the trans blue windows and the black trim. Unfortunately most interiors are not as fully fleshed out as they could be, due to lack of available parts, but I have plans to finish them when I have access to my main parts selection. Another big part which will be updated in time is the large grey block on the left side, which currently sits empty, but will eventually contain a portal into another dimension. But im still waiting on a parts order for that. But its all in a state now where im comfortable showing it off, so here it is! The lower level features a diagonal canal which cuts through the base of the build, something which I wrongly identified when ninjago city gardens prelims leaked back in late December 2020, and since then I've wanted to incorporate that idea into a set. There are also plenty of monkie kid references throughout the build, a few more prominent than others (DBK, Chang'e) and another reappearing reference are the frogs! See if you can spot them all! The model features on the lower level: A small boat shed and shrine, with an apartment above it accessed via a bed trapdoor, a small dock for ships and a sandwich store above it, along with the main bridge and central supports, and a little tree on the side. On the second level, a records store, sponsored by VIDYO, and a second level that is under construction, with rooftop access to a crane. Next door is the Ninjago city greenhouse, where residents can chill inside. Theres a Koi pond at the back with some rocks, and a huge tree taking up the central room. Watch out for the yellow poison dart frog! Going around the side, a tall alleyway with a mysterious door on one side, head up the steps and scale the ladder up to the grating that will take you over to the apartment owned by one of the members of the fly-boarders, who can be seen zipping overhead, with a kitchen, table and a ladder up to the second floor, where a desk, shelf and bed can be found, along with a bed side table and a small hiding spot under the bed. On the roof of the greenhouse, industrial units and comms towers can be found. The large grey stone structure features the insignia of a rouge faction, who can be seen patrolling the streets with their black helmets and swords, looking for trouble. Enjoy! Let me know of any feedback and/or constructive criticism.
