Looks like we’re heading to the jungle in the summer! Personally the jungle and volcano explorer sets are tied as my personal favourite city line, and the only sub themes I got all sets from (minus the giant jungle helicopter, I still need that!) so I’m so happy to see jungle back. Obviously space is probably gonna dethrone those 2 but maybe summer will bring it back. To this day that jungle mobile lab truck is my favourite city set. I can’t wait to see what the team give us.

It’s £60 UK, still pretty pricy but i feel like the rovers gonna be pretty big but light. 750 parts for £60 with all the big special moulds is a better deal than most sets these days to surprisingly. Would have liked to have seen the space station knocked down £10 or so but other than that, compared to US prices I think the UK gets the better deal. Especially with the smaller sets. They want $40 for the 6 wheeled rover right? Ours is £25, and £18 for the interstellar spaceship. Which I think is $30. I agree, the US pricing is nuts. edit: just realised you where talking about the crane base. And yes, it’s way too expensive, £125 here. Damnnnnnn.

Space sets are now up on Lego.com. UK prices are (inter)stellar! Can’t wait to pick up some of the smaller sets. It’s a shame the massive command Rover doesn’t do anything though, it’s just a big tank.
-
Kais climbing mech has leaked. One of the only sets I can say that has audibly made me say wtf. Anyone know the price? It looks very skimpy and slender, good for climbing I guess but I expected something bulkier. Really digging the legs though. I love the double knee joint thing going on and also, they’re experimenting with ankle stability at last! We saw a tiny bit in jiro but now it’s coming to mechs. New hooks look cool I guess.

Counter point from someone who adores the space sets: we very rarely get any sci-fi space stuff now. I’ll take what I can get and all of that looks amazing. I’ll admit yes, it’s not very city like and should have been it’s own theme, but an own theme would require at least 2 years of sets, new marketing, and a ton of faith. This was the safer option for Lego. We always get space sets that are based around near future space, I’d say the Mars sets are as far as it will go. This interstellar space theme will be a fresh coat of paint for the city space line, and in a few years I’m sure we will return back to regular near future space. If I had to guess, this theme is a test drive to see if an original space theme would still do well, so I’m gonna get a decent amount of the sets. As you said, just let us starving space fans have one little victory and then we can go back to regular orbital space sets. Considering 2024 is the year of space, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a summer wave for space with a big command ship or something to dock with thee space station. I must ask though, what else do you want from a new space subtheme? We have covered a lot of ground over the years, I can’t really think of any fresh ideas for an orbital/near future setting. Maybe a large satellite like the Hubble?

If I had to take a guess at the plot, the wave 1 sets will be all about the mechs, and the mech suit outfits will be exclusive to these shorts only. Then the main story is focused on the spring and summer waves. Maybe the ninja need to retrieve the gong and mallet of shattering as artifacts and bring them to the top of a mountain? That’s why they need all the climbing gear. Then at the top is the location we see on the Egalt box art, some sort of temple where Egalt himself lies? I’ll be honest, it’s kind of hard to tie all of it together. I know it was mentioned that the ninja had climbing gear to climb trees but I feel like that was a bit more of damage control/ throwing people of the trail, as this feels a little extreme and there’s also mountainous terrain in the box art of the source dragon set.
-
Good spot. I think the suits on the box art may be based of concept art for the suits? The armour piece is marginally different (no gold) and it’s in regular red, and there’s a couple of differences on the printing (legs have a dragon scale look on the box but buckles on the figure, and a different torso design with no red caribina). Wonder if we will get them as figs though, as I wildly prefer the all red armour mask combo over the regular red mask and dark red armour. Makes the break inbetween even more apparent when they’re meant to be one continuous cloth part.

It’s already been shown off on toothdominos Twitter, it’s basically a 1x2 brick with a ratchet pin attached to it. Will be super useful when it comes out, but sadly not the joint I want to see most. We are in desperate need of a bigger, stronger joint if we want to keep building mechs at the scale we have them (Titan mechs). As they get heavier we desperately need a new ankle joint, and arm joint. I think knees are pretty much figured out now, hips could do with some work but other than that mechs are pretty much perfect.
-
Also, they know that a whole wave of mechs could be disappointing so they threw in Egalt as well. Honestly as long as the march sets dont get revealed by January 1st, the dragon and mini mech set are my day 1 buys. I really do love all the ninja suits as well though, so hopefully they show up in the other sets. Did I mention the price is confirmed as £9? What an absolute steal. Just checking, we had a leak for an enormous source dragon build in the summer? Im praying it's a quad wing dragon, aside from that source dragon, id love to see a full size dragon ever since I saw the build at the legoland mythica ride. Good spot, looks like Riyu will have a head like the bottom of the core ice dragon I want to say, although I wouldnt be surprised if he gets a new mould. I cant tell if the Nya shown is in her climbing suit or just the dragons rising suit with the headband/hair on top of either one. You can see the foot of the mech as well in the shot and on the side just on the edge of the spirit cloud on the left I think that is a massive gold sword. Wonder what mech is going to wield that thing.

Couple of interesting notes from the interview for 2024 sets - Ras has a mech (unknown how big), will be 2nd wave as there where no 3rd wave sets shown. Im assuming it comes in the shadow dojo, maybe like a throne? I guess Beatrix already did that though. Someone will be making their first appearance as a mini figure, I have a guess it could be Geo as "ears" are mentioned later on, and hes a likely candidate for that. Ninja suits are called "mech suits", designed to be sleek and fast and only for when piloting the mechs. Im assuming they were necessary due to the size constraints of using the larger hood/armour parts. There will be shorts on Sora making the mechs for the ninja, likely an in-between between seasons 1 and 2, which the 3 waves of 2024 cover. Coles mech is meant to have its lava arms, and a prototype model is what inspired Coles rock form in season 1 The duel molded sword is new and there will be a new hook part for the ninja when they go climbing in season 2 (climbing suit weapon)? The gong of shattering and the mallet of shattering are used to empower Ras's army, and they use the power of the blood moon. Egalt is a new character who will be a mentor to the ninja, like Wu. The presence of so many mechs was a decision taken as it showed well with kids in testing, particularly the modularity of it, but the designers didn't want half the year to be dedicated to just mechs so they split the year down into 3 waves. Egalt will also have a bigger story presence than the mechs. Cinder is the master of smoke, unknown what happened to Ash. Zane was given a mech suit but no mech for completeness sake, and the designers have confirmed the 4 plus dragon it is a source dragon. Theres also a zane car poly bag that rebuilds into the crystallised jet he had. They confirmed that pixel was going to be back and is on the story board. Ras had arm printing in the sets shown off, but the final sets dont have that, although it may be a variant in the shadow dojo. The rest of the year is apparently way more impressive in the march and summer.

Alright, ive had my time to see what I think, let's do ninjago now. Gimmick sets - Yeah.... no.... these really miss the mark for me. if it wasn't for the 2nd minifig and interesting wing elements, these easily could have been the worst gimmick sets of all time. Cool box art though. Will be excited to see how my local store tries (and fails) to fit these onto their shelves. 4+ sets - Arins mech aint pretty, but that comes with a lot of 4+ mechs. cool parts that are found elsewhere though. Source dragon duel though... Depending on the price and march wave I may pick this one up. I like the exclusive sword mould and Im so excited to see a quad-wing dragon, it's about damn time. Shame it's a 4+ dragon though. I like wyldfires new look, although I do think she blends in with other Kai suits from past waves. Speaking of Kai, wow. Climbing is kind of the family passion, so it's so cool to see a dedicated ninja-climbing suit. March wave is gonna be so cool, I cant wait. Other than that, nothing interesting. Battle pack - Love it. Tiny mech, cool. 4 figures, cooler. Master Lloyd? Coolest! Although, is that the ninjago movie face print? Jay looks great, love the new suits. Mech is fine, like a worse version of the nexo knights armour. Wolf figures are also incredibly cool. And the box art, wow. Mechs - lumping them all together as I feel this way about them. Dont get me wrong, im a huge mech fan. But even I can say this is too much. I like the idea of customisability, but I doubt I'll use it, Sora mech - Cool, waist articulation, but no new sora fig which is sad considering she's meant to be a main character. Looks to be good value for £20. Lloyd - liking the samurai look, and whoever the hell cinder is. Nya looks good, but the mech itself is half and half. The blending of green, black and grey doesnt work for me. Cole - Really like this one, definitely the most unique. Love the Cole fig. Hope its £20. Kai - not much interest in the kai mech, got plenty already. I like the wolf mech, it's certainly unique as proportions go (never mind, just seen HD pics of the mini monkie mech!). The figs carry the set though. Jordana is back, Kai looks amazing, as does zane. Wolf warrior is cool. Master dragon - WOWOOO ok this guy looks cool. As bricksbymind speculated, looks like Wu and Garmadon fused into a dragon. Colour scheme is a little iffy but I think I like it. Figures are alright I guess, Ras is the stand out. Love the side build, and the head Egalt needs a special mention. Overall, mid wave honestly. This feels like a worse version of core, with so many mechs. I like the battle pack and the master dragon, however I feel like I'll be more easily swayed by the more interesting march sets. A 4 armed climbing mech sounds fresh, and I love temples, so im excited to see that. Hopefully Arin and Sora get new climbing suits too. Honestly im kind of glad the wave isn't spectacular, I will probably pick up the dragon and the battle pack set. Rest of my budget is going to that sweet sweet sci-fi city theme. And maybe the Mei mech if I feel up to it.

Woah, hadn't seen this. Looks alright actually.

Alright, ive had a day to look through the images and get my thoughts together. Lets start off with the big one - space. Feeling much the way @DuckBricks has been feeling, space has been sorely lacking in lego, especcily the Sci-fi aspects. This wave, is damn near perfect. I am in love with every set. Space mech - cheap £9 set, perfect figure, absolutely outstanding mech build, great parts. A very strong start. Ive even built my own version of it, with some heavy modifications. Colour swap, another hand, bulkier cockpit, that sort of stuff. Having it somewhat in hand, it is definitely worth it. Interstellar spaceship - Also a perfect set (depending on price), lots of cool printed parts, and @icm was right, it is the lightyear windshield, good spot! Really digging the sleekness of the build, and an amazing engine mechanism to open the main thrusters, thats very nice. If its £20, I'll buy. 4+ set - Its a 4 plus set, not much to say. cool prints and parts but nothing more. Space rover - The one ive been waiting for. Looks just as good in HD, although I wish it had a 6 stud wide interior instead of 4 studs. Love its futuristic look and suspension, a day 1 buy. Command rover - Bigger, but not as cool. Unfortunately we dont have any other pictures apart from the main one, so I cant see any big features. Im hoping it splits apart or something. I can confidently say though that I think the central section will be removable by crane and be able to link up with the other modules. Depending on the price, it could be very good. I like the idea of it though. Space station - Oh boy, this one.... I have a love hate relationship with. On one hand, it's a very very cool spacecraft, reminds me of the Endurance from interstellar (2014). I like the colours and the builds are cool. Also it can turn into the truck from subnautica apparently, love that feature and makes way more sense in space. Lots of figures and fun things. However, in my mind this looks like a gravity ring based craft, spinning and generating gravity through centrifugal force. Which would mean the nice vegetable patch they have under the dome is growing upside down. But who knows, maybe it's futuristic vegetables? I really hope the price isn't awful on this one. Space base - really like the lower portion of it. Cool sliding door, and the little rover buggy thing is also neat. I do like the chunky space craft and launch pad, and the crane system is pretty cool. Love the control tower. I guess I should talk about the figs too, I like all of the suits, but I wish there was a red one. Really did the space admiral. But I do feel like it's trying to do too much as a set. I agree with duck bricks, it should have picked a topic and stuck with it. Overall, love them all. They all look great and im so happy to see some more futuristic builds in lego. I do agree with general consensus that these should have been their own theme though. I absolutely adore the modularity between different THEMES, not just sub themes. Very interested to see how they join up to the friends and technic sets (Sidenote, that VTOL is absolutely stunning!) Wasn't planning to talk about the rest of city but wow, it's actually not bad. I like the black and (insert generic colour) combo that most sets rock, and the builds themselves feel futuristic, which I like. That fire station is amazing, reminding me of old Tomy tomica toys from Japan. I like the firetruck/missile launcher (!?!?!?) and the other fire sets are cool. Gun turret on a water bomber? Hell yes! Off road fire truck is also super interesting, I like the build. Police is a mixed bag, the murder mobile lab looks really slick but the prison island feels very plain in comparison, and the car chase is definitely unique (vehicle wise). Again, the police car reminding me of old tomica toys, and the lime cars a little too flashy for my taste. Med helicopter is cool, I agree it does look like an EC-135, but other than that not much to note. The great vehicles haven't really interested me. Overall I can understand that some people dont like the futuristic turn city has taken, however I think it's a nice fresh coat of paint over the same generic stuff we get every few years. I recently picked up the fire mobile command rig and the little fire station from 2019, both feel really just dull and lacking in imagination. It's clear this time though that there is certainly some new designers on the city table, and they are knocking it out of the park. And im sure we will get regular old city sets in a few years, so dont worry if its not your taste.

I don’t think it’s too bad personally, although I don’t particularly like it as a banner, but it makes sense to tie together all the space stuff coming this year.
-
Oh boy and only one figure. Reminds me of an F35 lightning. Really dig it.
-
I dont know, it looks more curved than the lightyear one, although I'd still be happy to see it in a new colour.

Well set has leaked on Instagram. Looks like we may be being watched by the leakers, I know falcon is on eurobricks. Before I don my tinfoil hat, I’m just gonna say hello guys! Back to the shuttle, wow. Really really loving the futuristic look of these sets. What a treat it must have been to design these. I can’t wait for the full reveal. I’d estimate £10-£20, probably the same USD. It looks sleek and fantastic, and I think that’s a new cockpit mold.

Cant find it, only city sets im seeing are the coastguard HQ, the arctic quadcopter, the black and red heavy transport truck, the camper and pickup truck, the fire truck and a couple more fire and police sets. I think it has something to do with location, Im in the UK whilst you and Classic_spaceman are in the USA (according to your profiles). Thats unfortunate. Thank your the help though.

Are people allowed to send links via DM on eurobricks? Or is that still considered ban-able? I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
