I do, but it’s currently unbuilt because of space issues and tbh I dislike the way the urban grid style clashes with the more organic nature of the hideout. I may take pics of them combined at a later date but right now I lack the time, space and effort to build it, sorry. if it helps there are pics at the back of the instructions of megapolis that show the combination, along with pics in the back of the hideout instructions (it combined with the city of lanterns). They are available on the Lego website.

As the new season releases each week in English, I finally managed to grab megapolis at a decent enough discount (albeit without figs), one of the sets I wanted to get this year and one I was cautiously optimistic about. It's a fun build, with plenty of amazing and interesting parts, and each individual building feels decently thought out and pretty fun, expectant of this theme and its mini-modular type of buildings. Unfortunately, I do feel the same way about the set when it got revealed, the structural base/foundation of the city is where it falls apart. I feel like after the success of city of lanterns, this set already had massive shoes to fill, and conceptually it was a great start, a bigger, beefier city of lanterns. But it just feels... hollow? Empty? Theres so much empty space, which I feel should absolutely be filled. It doesnt have the same effect of "buildings on buildings" the CoL has, and so the perceived value just isn't there for me. I got mine for £110, used, but it still feels like it should be £100 minimum, maybe £120 max? Thats including all the figures that it's meant to come with. I think the slight angle to the elevator doesnt help, but its core compatibility with other modules and buildings is also all over the place, with different segments nearly meeting but not, like doorways and stairs being 2 bricks to the left. I can see straight through most of it, which isn't the same for the CoL. The whole set on its own just feels like a jumbled mess compared to the city of lanterns, and really I think it should have been a £150+ location summer set that they usually do (not this year I suppose?). Fortunately, it does make up when combined with the CoL, or for me, 2x CoL. I'll get the bad out of the way first, it requires another track piece (longer one) to fully complete the monorail, and obviously theres not space for everything or everything not lining up. However, it is a really, really impressive cityscape, and the whole thing has great colours. The monorail around the bottom is great, and it looks so awesome, also fixing the jaunty building angle as the rail runs over it, and theres a decent amount of plaza open space around the centre of it. With some careful thought most of the different buildings can be configured to meet up with each other, like the elevator opening up onto the plaza area, or the staircase going up to the 3rd floor of the megapolis city. Another example would be the ferris wheel off to the side on the very top, which feels in character for the city (conceptually). The lower street is also very cool and most areas are accessible by Minifigs, and theres definitely plenty of room for modifications. Me personally, I will be modding it into my ninjago city Mocs, so the parts can be put towards a bigger, better build. Not saying the original is bad at all (ok maybe a little bit). Overall, the city set on its own feels like a bit of a miss, especially considering the absurd price it's at. Really it should have been a much bigger, more expensive summer set, and I genuinely would not have complained if it was £200, had the same silhouette as the show version (which looks incredible, one of, if not my favourite sci-fi cityscapes) and was a bit more fleshed out and full. Give some buildings extra floors, add more smaller connecter modules and paths. It could have been absolutely incredible, but on its own kind of just drops the ball. When combined though it does pop back up to being absolutely amazing, with more buildings and connector parts, and I may try and get pictures of it if anyones actually interested of the combinations. Despite being pretty negative on the set I do still love it, and I do hope that we see more of these sets as monkie kid goes on (assuming 2025 isn't the end of the theme). I would recommend if you can get it for a cheaper price, which I know is kind of hard to do in the west where it's lego exclusive. Overall 7/10 set.

From what I remember, DR is slated to be a multi-year story that is completely mapped out, instead of the previous "here's some ideas we just need to link them up" type we had for seasons 11-15. I'll admit im being generous with 7 years (especially considering we are already 2 years in) but its personally something I would love to see set wise, where we as consumers know that we will be getting a source dragon every year for a while, a bit like the ninjago seasons. I just think that would be cool. I do however see the problem of them being either all the same or wildly different which could overshadow some. Still, going small isn't always a bad thing.

Edit - this is NOT a leak, just what I would like to see. Do not wanna see this on the front page of Instagram tomorrow Summer wave - Small villain set like Lloyds journey from 2019 Ninja hideout £20/$30 fresh new medium size vehicle around £35/$40 something completely new for maybe £50/$60 Smallish Titan mech, maybe same scale as Jays Titan mech for Nya (considering we got 2 Kai mechs this year) for £70/$50 New mobile base OR destiny’s bounty (I believe we are due for another set, every few years and in the show it’s been destroyed. That’s not even a spoiler at this point, its a prophecy). At £100/$110. Honestly wouldn’t mind seeing a smaller destiny’s bounty in the winter wave though, could be cool, and then we leave this slot for a new mobile base or structure. source dragon of strength - £130/$150. I feel like it would be interesting if every year now we got the 7 source dragons, given their importance in the show and given the predicted run of the entire storyline of dragons rising this would somewhat line up. Big Earth dragon. finally, I want to see a small Ninjago city expansion. Enough of these massive sets that can’t even fit on my shelf. I’ve built 5 custom modules that are 16x32 and they work perfectly, so it’s definitely possible. It would also be a great opportunity for those with less budget (considering the way prices are going) to have a smaller way into the ninjago city sets. Price around £130/$150 so it’s a toss up between the big dragon or the big structure.

Yeah that would be the one, thanks. That’s a shame, I would have loved to get another people pack of just astronauts! I’ll have to go find that video now. Thanks for the info!

Anyone know if that Lego city space people pack got cancelled or delayed or anything? Was it the mini space lab set that we got in may? I thought we were gonna get a people pack like the previous space theme and outdoor one. As for the location of the new interactive explorer sets, I’m fairly sure they are volcano tropical island type of expedition. Likely pacific ring of fire if I had to guess. I also hope we get a base at some point but it also kind of defeats the point of the explorers I think. A mobile base or fabricated base, for example a bunch of containers put together to form a base would work well but would get expensive quickly I feel, plus you would need a second set or take a large chunk of budget out of the base set to have a vehicle to transport these pods. Still, the concept is half there in the new interactive base (toilet and all). Really hope we see more sets come out of this subtheme. If I had to guess, the explorers will get an updated look in 2025 that will be inline with these interactive sets, and maybe a new cast of explorers.

They’re on Instagram right now, fateful_lego posted them I think. The seaplane uses the 3 part bottom-window-cockpit parts that are usually used in city sets. Single seat with a gap in the middle of the plane for I presume the interactive brick. Comes with one figure and also a base camp build. Again, lotta good dark red recolours.
-
2 more of those weird interactive sets have been revealed, the croc head one and a seaplane. They look interesting, I’m glad to see more dark red recolours. Such a shame it’s only a beta test though, I doubt these will be released in any wide capacity. I desperately want those dark red shipping container parts, it being a common colour in the real world for containers. Hopefully a Lego designer can integrate them into a set further down the line.

Thanks! interesting to see the ball turntable return from the excavator (as seen on your insta!) and Im very interested to get my hands on the new plates that interact with the corkscrew part. Does anyone have a review of the jungle explorer truck as well? id love to see how its built.
-
Team power truck - £60. The least inspired IMO, a dump truck? I love the balcony at the front and the cat post, I like the colours, and the skid steer for pigsy is interesting. Im very curious how they will explain how Sandy got his hands on this haha. The function is less impressive, just popping the back of and it becomes.... a food stand? figures are cool though, love that centipede. i think its a great concept but im still a bit iffy on execution. The price is alright too actually. 9 Headed beast - £75. Looks absolutely awesome but also falls prey to a problem most MK sets have where it will look awful without the big foil elements. Awesome colour scheme though, and those teal recolours of blades are sick. The figs are also pretty good, I love that MK mech and shrine, I'll definitely try and cobble it together with my own parts. Price though isn't great, Id like to see it at £60 realistically. Shoutout to the gold egg splat parts for pagoda steps. Ring of fire mech - £95. Oh boy where to begin. Whilst im excited to get such a big set for a side character, I cant help but feel this is far too cluttered. The foil is a real disadvantage here. Not a big fan of the wheels on the back, if I ever get it they're definitely being modded to go on the bottom. The colours just feel too much, too loud sadly. speaking of colours, the back of it is really ugly, greens pinks and grey technic everywhere. Interesting joint usage too. I really like the quad copter though. Figures are alright but a bit stingy I feel for such an expensive set. MK has a really awesome white dragon horse bike style helmet though, I absolutely need that. Im glad we are getting more Nezha content though. Price is, again, too expensive but giant tires, and all those foil bits and knee joints probably cost quite a bit. Pagoda - £125. My personal favourite, such an impressive build, and a cool colour scheme to boot. I love the height, and the rocky outcrop is nice. The interior is great, the only part I dont like are the open technic holes. The throne room is nice, as is the 2 floors below it. The lobby area looks really clean, and the dungeon is a good use of space. The waterfall on the side also looks clean. Figs are top tier too, Nuwa looks so cool, using the ring part on the back is something I did when I got the Jiro and empress mech set, for my own customs. Much more secure officially though. The new stone parts are really cool, I love the colours and intricate details. Full team too, minus Wukong, Nezha and Macaque. Erlang (I think thats his name) is awesome, his little temple looks good. The whole Set is pretty good, with a decent price too. Obviously I'd like it cheaper but im fine enough with the price. Kind of sad to see that this is the end of huge £150 summer location sets though.

IDK. Hopefully it gets a bit of an upgrade before release like that teletoon s11 trailer for ninjago, but some of the character movement and details make it feel very manmade and janky. Not complaining too much, I know the show is run by a team who really love it, so I know the story and music are still gonna be awesome. Im sure I'll get used to it and stop complaining but it's just a bit of a shock right now. In other news, now that the sets are fully revealed, I can give my thoughts.

I dont want to be too negative but it's a downgrade visually. Hopefully they pull a ninjago and make the fights absolutely nuts.

They still haven’t appeared on the Lego page yet, but if I had to guess, between £130-£170? It’s got a ton of minifigs and It’s pretty tall. I’d be pleasantly surprised if it’s cheaper. I really want to talk about these sets but I’m waiting for the main pics and prices. All I’ll say though is that there’s definitely a giant quad copter strapped to the back of that nezha mech.

Set pics are out. Good god what a dragon. It is everything I could have asked for. Crazy size, awesome figs (Ras looks nuts) and the saddle is huge hahaha. Wonder if the motion dragon really is Ras’s master. The climbing hooks for horns is amazing. God the wings too. I haven’t seen the ice bike yet. Arin being locked behind this set at that price tho is my only complaint/concern. What a beautiful set. Seen the ice bike… what a contrast. It looks hideous haha. Guess it’s good for parts, more crystalized blades. Shame there’s not an extra wolf mask dude, they’re really skimping out this wave. Not a fan of that.

Just to tide us over, got some more info on the sets the 9 headed beast is a giant bird, with one large head, 2 smaller ones, and 6 tiny ones. It’s green cyan and orange. Wings are made of blades and cloth (like some Ninjago dragons) and it comes with a small shrine and a tiny mech for MK. Nezhas fire ring mech is gundam esq, with a large spear, fully posable limbs and giant wheels on its feet. 6 figs. Team power truck as apparently a large dump truck (seen today IRL at an event in China) that has a small skid steer sidebuild, a jet bike for Mei, a centipede monster and a rock with the collectable. 6 stud shooter mounted on the trucks side.

@YANITED Did those links work? Now that official pics of those 3 are out, I have to say im liking the arena set a bit more. Looks a bit more substantial and theres a light brick I think. Glad to see the stairs have a play feature. The combo vehicle is still iffy to me, looks a bit too outlandish. That mech is gorgeous, knee joints too. I agree with the idea that it was likely cost cutting with 1 mini figure because of the joints but it's still sour. Hopefully the source dragon gets revealed soon. "For your viewing pleasure" *tips hat* Enjoy lads and ladies! interestingly it looks like this page has been on the website since February, guess it takes a lot of digging to find leaks. Or maybe the page was updated recently with set pics.

Yeah nothing we can really do now but figures mean a decent amount to me (not as much as the build in sets when I judge them) but 1 figure is absolutely wild. I desperately need to see an inhand review of this mech. Really hoping the stability is good because I cant see any new parts which was what I was hoping for with a new largest mech. Still, they continue to innovate, 2 sisters plus a ball joint per ankle. I really doubt those knees move, but I know its ToothDominoes so I have faith. It's a killer mech design for sure.
