Well sets are now up on legos shop, oh my flipping god some of these prices are ropey. The temple of the crystal king sets price is downright disgusting, I was convinced there wasn't 80 dollars with of value there, let alone 80 pounds. At least we get full view images now. iIm really not liking this waves pricing, its really bringing it down. Coles cruiser for 40 pounds is also on the high side. Edit: temple set is £70, still way to high.

I’m not too worried about Nya being the pilot, just that she’s back. I get that it’s a kids show but when a character dies I’d like them to stay dead for once, it’s happened too many times where one of the main cast dies one season and is back the next. I could see harumi being some sort of apparition or hoax, like someone trying to be harumi like the prime empire version. What if it was the master of form? Charmile or whatever her name is? That may prove to be an interesting plot point that the writers could use when looking at the sets.

I’ve wondered about it being a double bluff but what I mean is that nya will not be the pilot in the show. Pixal is the obvious candidate for this, even in the trailer you can see how she moves is coordinated through the mech. Nya is in the mech set as it needs a pilot, but in the show it will be mainly piloted by pixal I think. Unless there’s a system where water is onboard and Nya controls it sort of like a second body, say there’s water tubing throughout the mech and Nya can control that to move the limbs.

I think the “zombies” are gonna be more of an infection than a death, and considering what Tommy said, I have a feeling that Harumi and Nya may actually be red herrings, only appearing in the sets and not the show.

Don’t give TLG any ideas! I have to say though this is Interesting. Looks like the ninja stage a truck heist, using zanes jet to pick up the van after boarding it via the dragon cycle and the dragon cruiser. Then they fly the truck out “swordfish style” I do like the vehicles in black, Going back to the earlier point I would actually be up for a “ninja on the run” season with blacked out vehicles and stealth robes, although they have done the “hunted by good guys” trope twice now. Shame really.

Yeah. I was really excited for it but they’ve built it like a monster truck with mile high suspension. The show version looks much better with it much lower to the ground. Also not a fan of how everything is stacked up on the containers, would have preferred more standing room when everything’s closed up, but with everything mounted in the walls that’s virtually impossible. We still haven’t seen the interior of the actual van, just the containers on top, although we know the go cart goes in the back and there’s a hidden cannon on the side, I can only imagine it’s mostly made up of a mechanism for opening the side door and putting the cannon out like the ecto 1 set.

I’m mythology ao guang commanded an army of “dragon turtles” and this is what the set seems to be based off. They symbolise courage, power and support, and are a prominent part of the feng shui. Yes, my knowledge of dragon turtles was fuelled by a classic Wikipedia rabbit hole.

We wouldn’t know…… but it’s unlikely.

I have a feeling TLG thinks they can get away with overpricing the sets due to the whole final battle golden esq feel and the metric ton of new moulds and exclusive figs. Granted, they will make up a decent part of the budget but A lot of those big parts where introduced with EVO, this already paying it back. Will have to wait in the prices. I’m praying the Kai raider isn’t 90, it’s the most interesting set of the wave. Yes it’s a Kai vehicle but Goddamn is it the most intriguing and fresh vehicle I’ve seen in years from Ninjago! Just looking at it, I can’t even figure out what the point of the main feature is! Mobile artillery platform? Also skylor has the same face paint as the yellow ninja in the trailer, so I think it’s safe to say she is on the anti ninja team and the team will probably work against the ninja.

Agreed. I’m saving my full thoughts till the prices get revealed on Lego.com but I was expecting the Cole’s dragon cruiser set to be about 25-30 pounds, maybe that £27.99 price point the ToE set was at last year. It’s now being reported to be £45. And the Kai raider being £90? Somethings up with these prices, but I’m not fully going off until I get confirmation from Lego.

Dragon of the east has been revealed! Nice colours……. But no. Not a fan of this one at all.

The van looks good, but I’m not a fan of how high it sits off the ground. Looks like a monster truck. Much prefer the show version and will mod it to make it that way. Otherwise it looks pretty good! The fight in heaven set on the other hand, I like it but there’s something about the large technic beams and pinholes that I’m not liking at all.

Well brickset haven’t done an article today, usually they do something, anything at around 11 BST, usually when they don’t that means a reveal is on the way. It may be the day fellas. We will have to wait till 2 o’clock to see. I do have a feeling tomorrow is more likely as it’s may first. In the mean time, I’m building Cole’s buggy. Any MOC builders know what to do for the windscreen? It seems to be a new part on the prelim set, and the show version looks like the zane tumbler one but in a dark Smokey colour.

Not sure, but Tommy said to Vincent (the voice actor) “It was a glorious send off though. Thanks for sticking around for so long”. Context: Tommy talking about the bittersweet ending of season 16.

Good spot! Strange that some weapons are shared between both ninja teams, and others are not, and I really do like the tech based feel way more than the elemental feel.

Seen as Ninjago is getting a soft reboot, whislt I doubt they would completely replace the ninja, considering kais voice actor has now left, it may be a way to tease the new team. Speaking of which, my god I hope we get these suits at some point. I know it’s unlikely, but they look so epic! I love the “stealth” look they’re going for and I wish there was a red one. Interesting to note the 2 pink ninja, also both carry the same weapon. Maybe identical twins? That would be a cool dynamic! Aspherea being with the ninja may be somewhat intriguing but I don’t have high hopes, however on the upside this does give us a look at the new suits as mentioned, but also some of the sets. The suits look great, honestly they may be my favourite regular suits, (dragon master suits on top baby!) and the new sets, oh my god! The mech is an interesting colour scheme, I hope they can pull it off in the sets but it looks alright in the show. Coles car though, my god am I in love! That looks so good, a cross between a beach buggy and a military tank, I love it. Can’t say the same for the set version though, from what I can see in the prelims it looks way to big and long, with the blades being far too big. But the show version, perfect. There’s something about the small squat appearance that I just like. Will def try to MOC it up on the weekend.

Wow. Just incredible, cannot wait for this season. Some things to pick out, the Titan mech, that looks amazing, and Cole’s car, I am in love with that design. I really hope the sets can do them justice. The suits as well, of my god I love those black stealth suits. I am praying we get those in sets but knowing Lego I doubt that, especially as one of the slots is already taken with the dragon armour.

Heads up guys, JBspielwaren have posted a countdown on insta with the translated title being "preorder new June novelties" with the ninjago poster behind it. Countdown is 2 days 14 hours from 9:00 AM BST. Best guess is a reveal either today or more likely tomorrow. HYPE!

Yep, crystal armour looks incredible! The hype for this season is intense, especially as Lego is actually taking the time to promote the latest season now! And Tommy is constantly dropping hints on Twitter, and I can just tell the official reveal is just days away. Maybe even tomorow! I hope it is. It would give me some inspiration for weekend building! either way im Interested to see what role the mechanic plays in the season, as he’s confirmed to be one of the crystal generals, so he must play a decent role, yet I don’t think it was confirmed in any of the leaks that he’s in any of the sets, and considering he hasn’t appeared in a magazine foil pack and he’s exclusive to the gardens, I feel like that fig may shoot up in value in the coming months.

Wow that new trailer is amazing, but it’s painfully obvious that this was what was shown to Lego when making the sets. The biosyn lab, the giga poking its head in, the red truck capturing Beta, the other pick-up getting flipped, the chase set, the £80 Trex breakout with truck (although the T-Rex has been replaced with a carnotaurus) heck even the weird helicopter with the ducted fans on outriggers show up! I guess Lego asked for a bit more marketing material to do the jeep with the pyroraptor, and to fill out the figs. Overall though this has got me mega hyped!

Set names have been revealed, official pics should be any day now. The van and the dragon mech where obvious, however the biggest set will be known as "havoc in heaven", which I can only assume will depict the finale of season 3, possibly a face off in heaven between the lady bone demon and Mei in the celestial realm. Honestly this set wave sounds fantastic, but as always I dont think im gonna be able to pick any up. I confess, I've only ever picked up 4 monkie kid sets at all, mainly due to the lack of accessibility. I find ordering off lego.com a tedious task at best, and as the sets are never discounted and dont usually come under promotions, its left me instead interested in other themes like ninjago, which regularly gets discounts and promotions. I love monkie kid. The show, the sets, the idea and the story. Its all amazing and I do think it is the epitome of modern lego. Its fun, action packed, and has great potential. When building both the mobile HQ from wave 1 and the bone demon mech from wave 4, I have felt the love that has been put into these sets, but I feel like theres a big disconnect between the model team and the actual company, at least in the west. This theme won't click with everyone, but I do think that it doesn't help that its locked behind a lego exclusive wall and rarely gets discounted or even promoted. Its obvious that the theme doesn't really sell well to many people here in the west mainly because the story is based in Chinese mythology, and here in the west thats not really shown anywhere. Theres been a couple of tv shows based around the book, but for many this is the first introduction to the storyline of journey to the west. It was for me! Another problem (its not really a problem) is I feel like the themes greatest strengths are the largest sets, flower fruit mountain, the city of lanterns, the HQ and the monkie mech. All of those sets have garnered nearly universal praise from everyone I know, but if your like me and often have a tight budget, it can be hard to spend a large chunk of money on just one set. smaller, fairer priced sets have started to show up now, so hopefully the tides are turning for the better. Monkie kid is a wonderful theme, but its also constantly overshadowed by other themes such as ninjago, which shares similarity's. They're different, dont get me wrong, but it is painfully obvious when comparing some of the sets. Take Mei's dragon car and Lloyds ninja night crawler. Both are large 1 seater cars, both have the same (UK) price point of £35 and both are based in Asian culture. But ninjago is easily accessible, often on sale and is way more popular. This leads to ninjago effectively overshadowing monkie kid, and the stuff that monkie kid does different, trying to differentiate itself by sticking to the themes of asian culture, it turns western people away as its "unfamiliar". As for the small fanbase MK has here in the west, we can only hope that this theme proves popular enough in the east to continue, and considering its been confirmed for 2023, it seems we can relax for now. I want this theme to do well. its really amazing, and I hope it can at least try to reach the level of love and popularity ninjago has. Feel free to tear into this rant(?) and correct me where im wrong, because im sure theres something thats wrong, wether its an opinion or a plain fact. In the meantime, we can look forward to what MK has in store for the next wave. Personally I think the sandy van may be my favourite, but the dragon mech is pretty big in the show so the van may have to take up the smallest price point of £45, and I really feel like the set won't be done justice at that size. But who knows? MK designers are known for their creativity. I hope they can continue to blow us away with the sets.

set should include both, Im pretty sure they both had separate banshees to ride in the movie, although its been a while. so we know theres 4 sets coming and the brick heads, so 1 set down, and I think we can guess the brick heads to be either Jake sully and his avatar, avatar Sully and Neytiri, or maybe Jake sully and Quaritch? Im still holding out hope on the Samson, and im praying they don't butcher the design either.

I have a feeling its not meant to be the sword of fire, but instead a sort of continuation of the sword of fire, like a brand new weapon but the same concept. People have also pointed out that kai has an R symbol on his headband instead of the regular symbol he has, which I believe is a K. Lloyd however still has his same old symbol. as a lot of people on Instagram and YouTube have said, I feel that so far these suits are average. They're good, but not incredible.

Well 2 new suits have leaked, unfortunately in the “promotional pose” where we can barley see any of the printing….. kai looks like a cross between his rebooted stone armour look and MOTM suit, plus a gold head wrap, Lloyd looks like an updated version of his rebooted suit. (Or something similar). Kai is wielding a brand new sword piece which looks great, Lloyd has his usual sword. if I had to guess, the leaks mentioned 3 separate suits for the ninja, the golden dragon suit, an exclusive suit in the temple of the crystal king (ToCK) and the regular suit. My thinking is that Lloyd is wearing his regular suit and the exclusive suit in the ToCK is the golden suit Kai has on, sort of like an in between version of the dragon suit and the normal suit. edit: just realised, they still have the same face print. Damit Lego, we had all the new molds and one ninja knocked of the team, you could have at least spared some budget to give us some new faces ! Either way I’m sure the sets will make up for them
