LEGO Monkie Kid 2022
a guy from somewhere replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So monkie kid is going to space? intresting, I like the shuttle, its a shame that all the figs are I space suits. I prefer casual clothes, but hey, exclusive figs! I have to say, the shuttle itself looks great. Its massive, I love the launch tower along side it, plus the rover. As for the figs, tangs included, sandy is now a normal fig (no doubt because the big fig wouldn't fit in the shuttle. Mo is mechanical now for some reason, and the "shadow minions" as I call them are also included. Looks pretty cool! Theory time: Mk and the crew after escaping LBD flee to the west (you could say its a journey to the west), and they find an abandoned space port deep in the jungle. Macaques shadow minions presumably try to stop them from lifting off, as they attempt to go to the moon spirit (?), as in journey to the west. I cant wait! -

My apologies, I should have done some research. Either way im excited for the leaks, but my main question is what theme its going to be? I have a feeling that this wave won't have a 'theme' as in season 15 was underwater and season 14 was jungle islands, but may explore regular ninjago as a whole. That would be great! -

Honestly I think its gonna be his shadow minions he uses a lot. in the show they are quite dark and Macaque likes to have some style. Going by the face(which is pretty plain), the torso (1 sash across bare chest with a symbol, seems like an army builder style of fig) and the black legs (they may not have been revealed yet) plus the fact there's 2, I think this is just his shadow minions he uses. -

Based of small YouTuber overlord x, who shows of a slightly sketchy instagram post, however we got pics last year around that time so im fairly confident we will have pics at least by then. As Meadius said, im probably most hyped for the mech, but also the temple. The 3 dragon sets are pretty much a tie for me, and the mini mech has the potential to be quite cool. Lloyds car sounds alright, but I already have the 2018 one. And the ninja training centre sounds like a dud to me but if done right it could be good. -

Well we know that budget goes towards both sides of the figs, considering that the island figs where pretty good (I just got the keepers village, and Mammatus's headdress/crown is spectacular), and the ninja where pretty detailed for that season as well. New moulds for all the hair/headbands, plus the keepers had some interesting headgear. With seabound the ninja had pretty detailed suits, and the new moulds for the scuba tanks and masks where crazy. My point is is that maybe the budget is being saved in the first half year so the season in the second half year is amazing, sort of like a + - - + scenario. the plusses represent the island and season 17 (the 2nd half instalment for 2022, with good villain designs because lets be honest, mould wise, apart from the headgear the keepers were nothing to write home about) and the minus represents the seabound and the 1st half instalment for next year, with bad design (re use of moulds and unoriginal ideas. Although, was it ever confirmed that the hydro whippers where in fact snakes? If not, i'm counting them as eels. Although snakes 2 seasons in a row is getting ridiculous. -

There’s a thread? Missed that…. from the set list alone it seems to be either a Lloyd or team season, with a kinda generic theme? Either vengestone or fire snakes (snakes again!!) and the sets don’t really give anything away. 2 dragons, maybe an air season but we have land snakes and Lloyds race car. Don’t even get me started on the combiner mech…. I dunno it just sounds really simple and generic. Hopefully the set pics will change my mind. -

I’m afraid most sets have been pulled from physical store shelf’s, mainly due to the fact that no one brought them so they where taking up shelf space. It’s the same here in the UK sadly. Online is probably your best and only bet I’m afraid. -

I know that feeling way too well. Picked up the ice emperor, land bounty Nya, Chen and Clouse, and I am pretty disappointed that island Cole didn't come in any magazines this year. I was really hoping he would show up, but Bricklink it is. (If anyone was wondering, I needed a couple of the island Cole torsos and legs for a custom military) Speaking of which, I have the opportunity to get the jungle dragon or the keepers village set for the same price, roughly £30 UK. To anyone who owns them, which one would you go for? what are the pros and cons? Im quite torn to be honest and I want to spark some discussion on this topic post. -

As much as id want this I feel like the new titan mech for zane from this year kinda fills that gap. it should be pretty easy to mod though, just swapping blue for green. I may give that a go. Personally I hope that she gets a small to mid size mech to be honest, I feel like MK has kinda got the market cornered with the monkie mech on that front. -

From what I've heard the sets will be exclusive to North America, but the show will be available everywhere else. Still super excited that people have an opportunity to grab the sets though. Show lego that monkie kid can do well if its widely available! -

Anyone wondering why some mainstream sources are not covering the ninjago leaks? Obviously the ninjago based community is covering them, however websites and YouTube channels such as just2good and brick fanatics have not covered the leaks, the latter being particularly confusing as they are coving everything else from city summer 2022 leaks to Disney princess, yet no ninjago? -

Ok. This is quite the post, so buckle up people. Good luck getting to the end of it. From what I can gather the pyro vipers are back, which on the bright side will give a bit of weight to season 11s story, however this does seem a bit far fetched. So the snakes are back with upgraded tech, and for the ninjas the mech sounds the most interesting. I had an idea that maybe all of these sets can connect to the mech “gundam style”, and the ninja combiner mech is the base. Maybe the mech set can also split off into smaller vehicles, like those weird 11- 1 knock off brands? Extremely disappointed with the fact that there’s not gonna be new modular, but the temple does sound very good. I hope it will hold up to other magnificent builds such as the temple of airjitzu and the fire temple. Lloyds mech: Sounds fine as a juniors set, but I’m most scared about how they are downscaling the sets like Star Wars. Promobricks refers to 4+ a little too often in the article (I will too) which worries me immensely, however we must remember this is just one news site covering it. The thunder dragon: Sounds fine, a cheap and possibly good introductory set. The price and piece count are a little scary, I’m not liking the price to part ratio. But if it’s like a 4+ set, there’s probably going to be some larger pets involved. Zanes power up mech: Interesting, I’m looking forward to a small affordable mech set, and as said, I have a feeling these sets are gonna all link up onto the team mech, like I can see the thunder dragon wings becoming a giant Jetpack, with the dragon head going over the mech head, and Zanes mech clipping into the back for extra stability. Kais fire dragon: Sounds ok, although it’s apparently the same size and only 60 more parts as the thunder dragon, and 10 euros more, and this wave seems to be worryingly bad on the PTP scale. The only answer is, you guessed it, 4+ PARTS! Lloyds car: Apparently a smaller version of the night crawler, which my brother happens to own, I’m pretty excited for it. If it retains the same feature as the last one, it will be interesting to see how the 6 stud shooters are integrated. Figures sound a little displeasing and no side builds. Ninja training centre: Now due to the translated wording I can’t tell if this is a modular but it doesn’t seem like it. To me it sounds like a cross between the ninjago movie maker and the skeleton bowling arena from way back in the pilots. Apparently it will come with a small mech, which most sets either come with or they come with a drone. I’m liking the sounds of these side builds for the snake army I have to say, however I always seem to think of a green and white colour scheme which I know is wrong. The ultra combo mech: Holy crap, this DOES sound like a fever dream. 2 smaller snake mechs, which sound fine, and the article says that the 4 main ninja merged their original companions? I get the feeling they are talking about the 4 pilot dragons, protectors of the golden weapons, however I’m pretty sure the earth dragon did not have drills for hands, as the mech does. I get the impression that this mech will probably be like the ultra dragon, but you know, as a mech? I also said before that I think all these sets can combine onto the mech, or the mech splits apart into smaller models, hence the name combiner mech. Think of it looking like the Firestone mech, only on steroids. Lloyds dragon: possibly my favourite set so far, a blue and green dragon, with (GASP) Nya? She’s back already? Kinda disappointed to be honest, as much as I like her I wish she could have stayed dead for a bit longer, at least a season, but no, she’s back. And with a new dragon with Lloyd apparently. The price to part seems on par with usual Ninjago standards, so maybe it’s just the January sets, which would be EVO, are like a legacy line of sorts and then the bigger sets like the temple and dragon are March releases? Speaking of which, the temple! This sounds freaking amazing! Not a modular unfortunately, but it seems to be a structure much like the light house siege, standing on a foundation of rock and having a small bridge go off it. The roofs in dark green I can approve of, however I’m not sure on the brown walls. Apparently a small fire mech is included, which I’d have to guess is stored in a workshop type area in the rock foundation. Spinjitzu training: Some more gimmicks, and they seem to be a cross between the spinjitzu masters stuff and the original spinners. Nothing too interesting. Well. This is an interesting wave to say the least. My best guess is that the legacy line is at an end now, so they are doing some more recent small sets. The pyro vipers seem to be back, but they sound more like Chars species than the original hypnobry. All I’m going to say is the day the pictures drop, this forums gonna be one hell of a storm. Edit: there’s a hell of a lot more I want to talk about, Nyas return, the snakes (again), how this will affect the show, the figs we’ve already had leaked, who’s season this actually is, but I’ve already written enough for now. I’m gonna sit back and let the news digest, along with the helpless amount of videos on YouTube saying how bad these are. Thanks for reading guys! -

I dont mean to sound like that person, but unpopular opinion, I actually like the mechs and the cars and all the weird vehicles, however I dont know what promo bricks means. Do they mean we won't like it because its not a feudal Japan type setting (which most people here want)? Or is there no buildings? As much as I like vehicles I am partial to a nice temple or monastery. I do wonder what the theming will be. Really, we need to know how much promo bricks knows about the community. They could mean anything from the apparent hatred of vehicles to us not wanting a space theme. Either way, we are gonna find out later today. Did the publish a time or is it just 'later'? Edit: The bricks'n'bits podcast has said that next knights was originally a tech pirates theme, so maybe that could be it? We know models often cross over from themes and concepts such as the 13th power miners vehicle that became the Atlantis hydro tank mech, the chain cycle ambush from possession was going to be a Chima set, and so on. Maybe we can see some intresting concepts? I'd love a rolling Pirate ship, mortal engines style, and the land bounty didn't really do it for me. -

The press release spoke of how it did well in china, the exact quote being: "After hugely successful reception in Asia, the hit animated series inspired by a Chinese legend swings onto screens and into new LEGO sets to entertain new audiences". So Lego have just revealed that the sets are coming to Amazon, along with the show. Super hyped but unfortunately from the press release it seems that the sets will be a damn North American exclusive! I know some people where mad about the colour swapped sets being uk exclusive but at least you could get some through zavi! I urge anyone from the US or Canada to pick up the Amazon sets, especially as Amazon will probably be discounting the larger ones. And luckily, large sets is monkie kids speciality! -

Wait so The LEGO employees actually said the theme was retired, or where they referring to the fact that MK sets where being pulled from physical retail stores? Im pretty mad at the fact that MK may be available on amazon, im sitting on a ton of gift cards and this would be a great opportunity. I guess this is how it feels for the people across the pond when lego revealed its colour changed sets, but at least you can still order them though ZAVVI Either way this isn't looking good for me. My budget isn't looking great lego-wise and there's still so many sets to pick up. I still need to get the stranger things set before that heads off as well, and my list currently reads: noodle truck, white dragon horse bike, cloud bike, dronecopter, white dragon horse jet and flower fruit mountain! Why is this such a good theme? whishlisting aside, does anyone know anywhere where people sell separate parts of monkie kid sets? Ebay sellers or bricklink shops or anything like that. I'd like to get some more of the wave 1 buildings and I also really want to get those containers from the dronecopter, however the main build doesn't interest me as much as I thought it would. -

There was a whole discussion about it on the ninjago forum about it because the ninjago city gardens set swapped out the trans neon orange lanterns with the trans blue ones. It was apparently also seen in a design video that trans orange had a tag or something that meant it was being phased out. I cannot remember which one though -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2021

I took it as he meant all the sets on that page, which is consistent with what I have seen from other news outlets such as brick fanatics, who stated that all the 2020 sets would be retiring apart from the monkie mech and cloud jet. If they are retiring everything then, that could mean that the Amazon listing may be a last ditch effort for the west on market. Come to think of it, if the sets are selling well in China but Lego are pulling them, that would make them regional exclusives? So the only other option means that the theme is selling poorly in the Asian market as well. Oh dear. -

If the names is lego_leakz then I think he just means all the sets that are shown on that post, mainly the first wave is retiring. Besides there’s still that Amazon tab that has monkie kid coming in October so I’d still say it’s got a chance. -

Hey guys, just wanted to share my bone canid MOC that I've been working on whilst waiting for my bone demon to arrive. I took a bit of inspiration, especially the legs from the newly revealed Rise of the Domo Eternals set that was just revealed. I cant really get it to look any more skeletal, but i'm pretty pleased with how it came out, using purple, white and that large red eye that seems to be on the bone demons smaller parts in the official set. The curb can connect to the wave 1 shop builds as well, and I've planned it pretty much as a set, side build minifigs and all. I particularly like the trans blue tendrils that make up the "horns" of the beast, they look a lot like LBD's powers that are often used in the show. Thoughts and constructive criticism are welcomed!
