I’m gonna be honest. This sounds like the final battle wave. All powered up with golden vehicles to fight the vengestone buyer. The skills and virtues they learn in core mean the ninja are more powerful than ever before. The only part that doesn’t line up is that weird samurai x mech. Best guess is it’s the mech that pixel uses in the kaiju protocol in season 11. Gonna be a weird year that’s for sure. -

I have a feeling its going to be the mayor, I was re-watching march of the oni and the commissioner went off on the mayor, stating:"Now, I'm not much for speeches but the mayor asked me to say a few words. Not really sure why the mayor couldn't do this herself. Never around, really. It's a riddle to me how she got elected in the first place, and the funding of the police department is—" So she seems to be a shady character who rules via other people. My guess is that she's sick of how the city has been ruined so many times and is slowly building up vengestone as she works with someone like Pythor. The enemy of my enemy is my friend type scenario? So she is building a vengestone stock to hold the ninja and all elementals, because apart from hunted the elementals haven't really done much. -

I agree with this. I love most MK sidebuilds but the main model usually doesn't do it for me. Red sons inferno truck, the dronecopter, Mei's dragon car. New elementary have done some interesting things with MK sets, mainly using the parts. I know they made parts from the dronecopter turn into a crab that could fold itself into a container. check out this link to see the new elementary articles of the sets: https://www.newelementary.com/search?q=monkie -

Honestly some of these shots are really intriguing when looking through them. There seems to be an evil version of Lloyds dragon that Kai fights, after the good version leads them to the other dragons that are trapped in some sort of purple dome? Cole is piloting kais EVO mech, zane is straight up missing an arm when he is in his shintaro gear and jumps through a portal after throwing something in, possibly his other arm? Nya is driving the ninja tuner car, further cementing my belief that it is a Nya vehicle. As for plot my best guess is that the evil Lloyd dragon traps some good dragons, one dragon escapes (Lloyds legendary dragon) and it goes to the monestery for help. It then takes the ninja all across Ninjago and even into prime empire to find the other dragons hidden on the island? It’s confusing, and chances are is that the shorts are not even connected in any way. It’s still pretty cool though, and we will hear Cole’s new voice as well. Eh I was kinda right. Here’s the Google doc, taken from dailyrolords video. Thanks to him, we can get some short clips from each short, and to be honest it seems as if they where put up by mistake, as most of the shorts are incomplete. As for my plot theory, the quick rundown is that master wu is taken by the legendary dragon, no good or bad dragon, just for some reason the dragon is evil. It flys through portals and the ninja chase after it, and they get in all sorts of problems and challenges that they must over come with their skills. Coles voice is pretty good, definitely sounding like Moro but I’m sure I’ll get used to the change. Here’s the doc: https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1Fn-__eyN8Uin4cHqrVIAuKTIOrLH6ok7/1VQWbVib2CzpZuutvOSURFbbep75Y07r0?usp=sharing&sort=13&direction=a -

A new trailer just dropped for the CORE shorts. Looks pretty good, seems to be callbacks and “what ifs?” From latter lessons, such as the island, prime empire, MotM and SotFS. Interestingly only wildbrain studios but I guess that’s down to the animation consistency. There’s also a product animation for Lloyds EVO car. Thanks to overlordX -

Just a heads up, the monkie kids underwater journey polybag set (otherwise known as the skeleton battle pack) is gonna be a GWP with all monkie kid or ninjago purchases over 40 USD, im gonna guess its the same price for the UK as well. You may want to hold fire on MK purchases until the 10th, which is when the GWP goes live. It will be going until the 27th of January. -

Nope, still regular old Sandy. Either he gets kinda shrunk towards the end of the season or it’s just a cost cutting measure by Lego. Nezah seems to play a pretty prominent role, so I’m gonna take a guess and say that they need the 3 fire rings to find nezah, and get him and his golden flaming unicycle to come and defeat lady bone demon. -

Monkie kid season 3 poster has come out, nezah is at the top with macaque and the gangs all there. MK has a new jacket as well. -

Does anyone know when the January store calendar come out? I'm thinking of picking up some sets on Jan first (as we probably all are) but that underwater journey polybag may become a gift with purchase and I'm thinking of holding fire till that becomes available. Also what is the threshold for sets? As I'm sure the polybag will be for qualifying monkie kid purchases, so can I only get monkie kid to get the poly bag or can I throw some other themes in too? Say the threshold is £100. I spend £90 on MK and 10 on ninjago. Do I still get the polybag or does it have to be £100 of monkie kid sets? I'm not entirely sure why I Don't know this but I Don't. -

I agree and disagree with this. First off, I do also think this theme needs more exposure, mainly to the western market. Its one of the top selling themes in the east, where it is based of the well known myth. However in the west it's a different (ahem) story. The characters are not recognised, and its not something thats wildly talked about. There's been a couple of tv shows and movies centred around journey to the west, however I do believe that this line is the largest push to the west the journey to the west has ever had. I'm trying to read the book as well, and its got me really interested in Chinese culture, and I'm loving it. As for disagreeing, its obvious. The sets are selling in china, and they're getting exposure. We just aren't seeing it. I do wish that the west did get a bit more interest in the theme but for now im happy with it. All the more sets for us! On another note, im thinking of picking up the new macaque mech, and I also want to get the fire ring set, however I love everything about the fire ring set except the ring itself. Its not my type of build, but the figs, the macaque speeder, the bone throne, it all looks so cool. But the wheel is driving up the price and driving me away. Its a tough one. Does anyone know if the sets are still able to be found in lego stores on sale? I would like to pick up some of the older sets as well, but they're sold out on lego.com and one of the most prominent members of the MK community (my brick opinions) did find some on sale in a lego store, however that was in the US. I'm asking about UK stores. I firmly doubt it, as I saw the 1st and 2nd wave on sale a couple of months ago and I doubt they would still be available now. I still kick myself for not getting the cloud roadster at 30% off. -

IMO it doesn’t look bad, but there’s something slightly off with it. More interesting is the fact that apparently it was from the instructions manual of the dojo, so LAN must have specifically told the people who got the set early to not show anyone as they where sent the set. I guess the one guy either disobeyed or someone found it early. Either way I do like it, but the price may be a different factor. Apparently it’s 40 euro, so 40 USD and £35. Rough. -

The training set just leaked, it looks…. Alright. Mistook the tree for a statue but looks alright. Not sure on the price. Spinners are still in the dark sadly. Honestly I like the set, but I’m hoping it’s cheap. -

So I was rewatching the revenge of the spider queen and noticed something interesting, the 3 part symbol Mei is associated with this wave (along with the 3 fire rings) seems to be heavily tied to the celestial realm. The symbol appears on her suit and on her new car. During the scene where Red son takes the dronecopter through the gateway we see this symbol for a second, and it later appears on the giant drum dogs that guard the furnace. Its also interestingly on the back of Red son's jacket. Space is also interestingly mentioned so the crew is aware of the prospect of launching into orbit. The pills that are obtained by Pigsy and Tang also appear to have the same 3 part symbol. Maybe red son and Mei will have a bit more involvement tis wave. -

Good spot, looks like I was right with the bed stand looking structure and the statue. I doubt the wall is included but that would be nice. Got to remember the box I saw was preliminary grey with the parts dead centre, no box art or action poses -

Personally I think we have just been so exposed to the crazy work of the ninjago city series we’ve become accustomed to it, and normal sets that would be totally amazing like the city of lanterns are over shadowed by the incredible Ninjago city range. Basically ninjago is stealing the city of lanterns thunder. -

Damn it, and I didn't get a screen shot. Well the pics where very blurry anyways, but they where definitely the sets. The spinners packaging where almost dress shaped, with a cone shaped bottom and a ninjago logo half way up, and then a large text/energy burst top section. The training ground, as I said looked to have a tall structure in the centre, looking almost like a statue, and a section either side that looks built up, like a small structure. Honestly a 4 post bed comes to mind. Miscellaneous stuff dotted around and a white spinner in the centre. Not sure if its just whited out of if its a zane spinner. Its likely as there are Jay, Lloyd and Kai ones coming separately. Yet again, Cole gets the bottom of the barrel unfortunately. -

So very blurry pics just leaked on Instagram from a Spanish catalogue that’s so horrendously blurry you can’t really make anything out, but it does show on the final 2 pages the ninjago sets in prelim form, and we get a view of the March sets. The spinners look to be basicly spinjitzu slam, and the training grounds actually bear resemblance to the city of oraborus from the show, with a large statue in the centre (snake head?) and 2 sections connected to it with miscellaneous things dotted around and a white spinner in the centre. The post in question has multiple pics and actually starts off with a catalogue view of the dark trooper battle pack. Poster is “ohslego” After learning more about the wave and why it exists, I have come around on some of the sets. The 2 small dragons are beyond saving, tho I like the side builds in the Kai one. Jays car isn’t great, it’s to overclusterd with all the gold blades on it. The Lloyd thagon (thick dragon) is alright, but I still find the combo of the head, massive chest pieces and the weird wings making the whole thing feel like just a regular toy, and not a “Lego” set. The temple is fine but a bit on the high side, and the Lloyd car is pretty nice tbh. Zanes mech is great, I love it. It’s just those unbending knees but considering it’s for a younger audience and it’s part of the new system I can forgive it. Lloyds mech is Lloyds mech. -

Does anyone know if there’s anyway to get ahold of the monkie kid OST? I know this is specifically for sets however I love the show and the music is particularly incredible (the delivery soundtrack, DBK face off, spider queens defeat, and the escape from lady bone demon to name a few) and I would love to be able to find it. It gets annoying having to go back to the show even when some parts of it you can’t even watch. Thinking about emailing Lego customer services to see if they can point me in the right direction as I’d love to find it. I think we can all agree MK doesn’t get the love it deserves. -

Rest of the sets leaked on #ninjago leaks. Dragons look terrible IMO, Zanes mech is ehh, the temple is also a bit off, giant power rangers fever dream combo mech looks just plain weird, lloyds car looks great actually and lloyds mech looks fine. Mini thunder raider polybag looks cool. Im gonna wait till 2 to give my first thoughts, but im not really impressed with the wave as it is. as promo bricks said, it’s just…juniourised -

New monkie kid set leaked, appears to be the source of the blue diving apparatus in the city of lanterns set. Its a small poly bag underwater scene, with the staff on the sea floor and MK on a sub-scooter. pretty cool! -

Ok, so I think we should focus on the main set we got today, I dont want to judge the blurry pics yet but they look alright. This wave is..... interesting. I dont know about it. Snakes again, these are confirmed snakes as the names are listed are "boa destructor" and "boa mechanic". The Jay and Nya figs, although very simplistic, look alright. I just which they had a bit more detail. The snakes helicopter looks fine, lego is clearly taking advantage of teal now, its everywhere! Not really a fan of the colour schemes but I think I will come round to it. The car looks alright, its definitely over clustered with all the gold bits, but it shouldn't be too much of a pain to remove them. I think the stud shooters can actually move down into the car body which would be nice. A cool speed champions counterpart! Overall I think this set sparks something we all have been saying we need. Classic ninjago. This is a car, fighting a snake helicopter. Tell me that in 2012 and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid. Its classic Ninjago, but updated. I cant wait to see the temple set, and it looks like the other sets are being revealed at 2pm London time today! -

So. Looks like the review threshold for the new monkie kid sets is already open, yet we still haven’t seen any Ninjago, nor city, a couple of star wars and Harry Potter sets and a couple of other entire waves like creator. I don’t know what’s going on with the reveals at Lego, but this isn’t good. We’re only a month out from release
