  1. Thankyou, I hope you can make it one day! @LvdH is right, I bought them from brickvisions.com they have lots of different colour variations of the standard lego rims. These are indeed black Bugatti ones. Although I recently did customise some spare centenario rims I had lying around for this model... I felt like the black rims blended in a bit too much, so now there is a pop of silver to match the rest of the silver accents.
  2. Three in Melbourne now let alone the rest of Australia haha. Thanks for building it and the positive feedback! It looks great Very cool seeing it in lime given that was the colour I originally tried building it in (failed at the front wheel arches).
  3. I agree with the comments about it looking like a confetti bomb... But I will definitely pick this one up as all the new gearbox pieces make this a pretty interesting and exciting build. Not a fan of the DBG along the side so will probably black it out a lot more to look more like this: Should look great next to the BMW, these sets provide a nice change from the supercars... Its also nice that there's no where near as many stickers as the BMW. There's also some interesting trans black? little panels on the front of the bike + we get the larger shocks in yellow now as well!
  4. Not sure I understand what you are meaning…?
  5. Agree, golden ages for parts, but not for sets. Nearly all the sets I’ve bought are for the parts and not the actual model…
  6. @gyenesvi makes sense! Thanks for the explanation
  7. You're welcome! You can tweak the settings in the app to adjust the degrees of the steering angle. So you can remove that little bit of oversteer. Here is an example screenshot of the settings from the app.
  8. That is fair. And 99% of the people at the companies I’ve worked for are men as well. But as you’ve hinted that also has a lot to do with the fact that woman aren’t as interested when it comes to these types of fields. But my point is that just because someone’s a man, in a male dominated sector, it doesn’t mean they know what they are doing Haha I gave up working for other brick companies a long time ago. It’s not worth the headaches for me.
  9. 100% the truth Glad to hear how impressed you are with the model. Hope to see some pictures soon! Yeah it sucks how there are such bad models that can get the licences and then there are such good models out there that can't. You say not to be disrespectful but it comes across that way. I've spoken to companies in the bricked field and other fields, dealing with men that had no idea what they were doing...
  10. Yes the piston engine is still in the same position as the original. So the axle out of the motor runs straight into the fan but the original gears run to the motor underneath. I tweaked the original structure to this: (the M motor can be attached upside down to the 3 black pins) A few pieces hidden for clarity. Then the area where the piston engine connects to the chassis was tweaked to this. Well, to be honest I didn't actually try the original way... I read what you wrote on rebrickable "However, the gearing in the steering system must be built centered such that the servo motor is at a 90 degree angle (in fact at it's zero position, which is not marked unfortunately), because proper steering calibration is lacking in the app for the Buwizz unit at the moment." So I presumed it wouldn't work, but know I see that was a misunderstanding on my part and you were talking about using the brick controller 2 app and not the Buwizz app. I presume the steering calibration works with the you have in the front?, but I didn't see that at the time haha. Anyways I changed the section in the front of the motor to this: Which works really well in the app. I found the model is actually pretty smooth to drive, even with the touchscreen controls. Hope everything I tried to explain makes sense
  11. So my only experience with RC lego models is the 42129 Zetros... My curiosity got the better of me and I bought it for a heavy discount about a year ago. The experience was underwhelming to say the least. So slow and heavy with rubbish ground clearance meant it got scrapped for parts pretty quickly. Out of the blue though some family members chipped in and got me a Buwizz 3.0 + 2 buggy motors for a birthday present. I thought about designing some electric supercar like a Rimac Nevera, but in the end I wanted something with more ground clearance/playability. I saw your model on rebrickable and it was exactly the type of model I was looking for! Thankfully I had most of the parts lying around already, so it wasn't too hard to get what I was missing. I settled with a DBG colour scheme for the body, with a black and yellow seat to match the shocks. Overall, this model is amazing! For me its way better than the Zetros is every way. Its fast enough to be fun, but not too fast that plastic starts exploding. Great ground clearance and suspension, good climbing ability and looks great (I love the tubular structure to the bodywork). Haven't had a chance to test it on super rocky terrain like your video yet, but it tears through all sorts of grass, bark and challenging terrain in the estate I live in. It's got the ground clearance to easily come down the square curbs in my street as well. The biggest weak link is the fake engine, the motors are way too powerful for it. The instructions even suggest to leave it disconnected if you plan on pushing the model, which is good advice. However it seems like a wasted opportunity for a RC model, especially when the Buwizz has extra ports. I realised you can sacrifice some of the engine detail and fit a medium motor in the snout. This only required some minor structure changes and could easily be routed to the Buwizz unit. Much more satisfying as it can now be turned on/off seperate from the drivetrain, and one can run it at less power. I also tweaked the structure just in front of the large steering motor... There is just enough room to add a mechanical limiter/block, when means it can be calibrated in the Buwizz app now. I can make a small render if you are interested. Thanks so much for sharing this model! I appreciate the effort put into the detailed write up as well
  12. Awesome! I hope you enjoy the build. Looking forward to see the Imola version. I've recently finished the model in red and have been thinking about turning the black one into an Imola version as well...
  13. Always super satisfying to see an awesome livery without any stickers! This looks amazing!
  14. Honestly those front wishbones will not be strong enough to support those springs. Even without the springs the setup will be too fragile as it is. Plus the arrangement is 6 studs wide, you’ll struggle to even fit a rim on that let alone have any range of motion with the steering. You are going to really struggle fitting those shocks in a FWD, steered axle. I would suggest trying with 2 of the normal hard springs per wheel instead.
  15. I think that will still be blue, just hard to see in the lighting of the photo. But that looks like the newer #60/61 panels in lime on the end of the wing!
  16. So I take it the traditional replicas will be phased out completely for these new unique rounded versions? In a positive sense they look better without those lines through the exterior surface but overall I'm glad I don't have to use them. I prefer the original less curvy variants and those attachments on the end just make things unnecessarily complicated. I can appreciate the attempt and desire to do something different though, even if I'm not much of a fan of the results.
  17. @EdwinSiu10 Can you please not quote entire images/posts from other people. It just unnecessarily clogs up the thread. If you could edit it that would be appreciated. It's definitely a clever idea, makes good use of those axle holes. I'm actually most surprised that it still fit under the clamshell as the space was already very tight as it is... But I tried it on my model and it works well
  18. Thanks for building this! I know its quite a mission to source everything required, but seeing people do it makes it worth the sharing of the instructions. I can't take all the credit for the final design either, @astyanax definitely had a lot of input with the chassis of this version. The result is something that is more modular whilst having very similar levels of strength to the original chassis. It is indeed quite the rabbit hole when you start looking at all the different versions, but it makes it fun to design because there's more flexibility and things don't have to be exactly a certain way. I love all the extra details you added in the engine bay, (some very clever part usage there) looks great I actually have a red one in the works atm (will be done whenever the pick a brick order gets here). I appreciate the write up and the photos
  19. @LegoHoops orange looks awesome! Love all your modifications, especially at the front the car looks a lot cleaner now. It’s always cool to see models of cars like this, it’s something different from all the super/hypercar models. I like it a lot.
  20. I’m all for them recoloring sets, especially if it brings parts in new colors. (I really hope that is dark azure, the pallete needs some widening). I think I prefer this color scheme to the yellow one as well. Allthough I do agree in this scenario it would be cooler to have a 2 in 1 set with both colours as an option, even if the set is a little more expensive. Bigger sets I wouldn’t expect that, but I think it would work in this case.
  21. According to rebrickable 1 Batmobile would provide 20% of the parts for the black version, 2 Batmobiles would provide 37% of the parts. Which isn’t bad if you can get the sets at a decent price - I’ve seen them for 30% discount regularly. Black is a common colour/useful for a lot of models so could be a good investment if you plan on making other models in the future as well.
  22. It’s way too hard to say exactly what I got from where. Everywhere now and then I will do a bulk order from LEGO to stock up on certain things (eg: frames tend to be a fair bit cheaper compared to bricklink, especially when buying lots of them. Panels are the same price regardless of colour, so certain panels can be a lot cheaper than bricklink). I had quite a lot of loose parts in my inventory already… plus the model has been built/designed over the course of 2.5 years so the cost of buying things has been spread out enormously compared to someone that would now want to collect all the parts in 1 go. Bricklink prices are going to be different depending where you live etc… as well.
  23. The default list on the rebrickable is for the red version. Then in the description there is a parts list linked for the black and blue version. That past list is for the version in this gallery: https://bricksafe.com/pages/langko/pagani-huayra-v2 My default for ordering loose parts is bricklink followed by ordering direct through LEGO with there pick a brick service. Sometimes, when it is more efficient cost wise, I buy a set as a part discount. For example I bought a Batmobile (set 42127) when it was a sale to use the parts for the black version of the Pagani.
  24. Hello, glad you like build! If you purchase the instructions it’ll come with 2 different pdfs. 1 for the red version and 1 for the black. The red version shows how to do the version with the bionicle teeth and the black version shows how to do the version with the 1x1 round tiles. There are also slightly different variations for the rear taillights between the red/black version. You can mix and match depending on what you like best.
