  1. Speaking of which, anyone knows what is the platform 9&3/4 small set that appeared on brickset today? Is it an adfitional gwp?
  2. Who knows! I think I like the forestmen set better on this occasion, hence why I was curious as to others’ views. I can’t quite say what it is but in my eye there is something missing from tortuga.
  3. Guessing there is an overlap between castle and pirates fans, which of Tortuga and Forestmen stronghold has you most interested? Given expected price points, hard to back wave after wave, so if you could only have one of the two which would you go for?
  4. Can’t say I am sold based on the trailer… where it brought some clarity, in my opinion, is on the possible tie in with new lego sets. I don’t see that happening unfortunately. fingers crossed I am proven wrong.
  5. It looks good though I’d like to see more (close up) pics to get a better feel of size, ease of access etc. I used to have the ninjago docks but the interiors were too small. This one has open backs so that should help. I am not super excited for it because I expect the price tag will be such that I might not see enough value to take the plunge unfortunately… wait and see I guess.
  6. I think UK is next Wed and France/Lux 28 Aug. Still keeping my fingers crossed I find it, or a bigger discount on the full set is finally offered.
  7. Like it too! Nice one
  8. Hey there, here’s the drill, for me it’s easy to stay away from the big pricey SW sets but I feel like not being careful with smaller ones could also be death by a thousand cuts as TLG keep cranking them out and they’re not exactly cheap/it adds up. My question to you is this: of “medium” sized sets, which of your purchase of the past few months do you think was the best/which do you regret? I am way behind on the past two-three waves but if I were to go catch up mode on these sets that would set me back a pretty penny so curious if there is a consensus for/against a particular mid-price set. Thanks
  9. Kiss your bricks goodbye! You will never want to take that apart:) I know I wouldn’t, great job!
  10. When I see your profile pic and name I know it’s going to be good;) worth taking the time to tell you (and others) as much as non-AFOL can easily overlook how much effort (and talent) it takes.
  11. It is beautiful, very impressive. I would be very proud if I could ever build something looking half as good, you deserve applause!
  12. Thanks Kaiju. There are core books due in Sept so I’ve postponed my education on all things D&D to then. Google will tell me what a Githyanki is (all I know is that had it not been yellow it would have done a good standin for the rogue twin in vox machina).
  13. Dragonborn is indeed my favourite but I also love the others. Not sure one is yellow though, not a big deal but a bit odd imo.
  14. Well… turns out my personal fav’ is even better than I thought! Now onto trying to beat the scalpers and find it first. Can’t wait for release day.
  15. Has anyone found the lego sw magazine with Sabine outside of Spain? This mag is so weird spitting out different minifigs from one country to the next. There used to be a delay of a month or two for one particular issue to show up in one country or another but more recently it feels like a minifig showing up in one country is no guarantee it will resurface elsewhere.
  16. Thanks JohnTPT, I’ll keep an eye out though two boxes would be too much (and expensive) for me. I live my afol life in loneliness, no one to share and split cost with sadly!
  17. Any reputable seller of full boxes here in the UK? Tempted (for the first time ever) not to beat around the bush and just get myself a whole box:) Just checked minifigmadness and they’re out of stock (they were selling two boxes per order which would have been one too many for me anyway). Did you get a good deal on a single box elsewhere?
  18. When I came out of my dark ages, I was lucky and found great SW sets at even greater discounts. Bought them all then freaked out and returned them all. I was worried about going down that rabbit hole. I managed to stay for a long time but was eventually sucked in, missing out on quite a few sets I actually liked. The TLG price increases of recent years made me regret not buying what I thought was too expensive at the time. Reality warp and lego maths now make me look back on it and think they were decent deals compared to today’s standards. The point I am making is that staying away from the SW theme might not be that easy so think twice before passing on sets you might regret later on. The sweet spot is to selectively pick what sets to indulge on, a challenge when so many good sets are released across themes!
  19. Bought the Rex microfighter: made me super happy in ways most lego sets don’t - I didn’t feel guilty buying and building it. A rare treat for someone who sees his afol status as an addiction/affliction.
  20. Only 4 lotr gwp left at my local store… but all the SW May 4th promos! Also, they now charge you for paper bags… the set looks great, very imposing, but I have bought more lego than I should have for the whole year already so I resisted the temptation and gwp fomo. Enjoy it you guys who swung for this bad boy!
  21. More pics of the fell beast on hothbricks’ website. Not that bad, the wings add a lot to the build and have more details than first available pics showed.
  22. Barad dur vs Rivendell, which one takes the cake for you? Would an extra handful of orcs change your mind?
  23. Btw, been watching a cartoon called “the legend of vox machina” which is a cross of d&d universe and south park level of inappropriate content. Looking forward to the cmf to try and put together minifigs of their party (Scanlon in particular! If you know you know:) )
