@King, nothing wrong in mixing, was just answering the question of personal preference. Right now, I wish for two things: ability to get more bluecoats from pab, some set(s) with redcoats next.

Historically accurate (though we know TLG don’t do that) over fantasy any day for me. PoTC sets would be nice too though highly unlikely in my opinion. So wait and see what will be the next domino to fall. I am yet to purchase 10320 but I am surprised at the little coverage it gets on social media in the end. Then again doesn’t mean AFOLs aren’t there to make it a commercial success.

Good to hear about the fan designer (hopefully not PR), don’t think I’d be personally delighted if they turned my design into microscale so there is hope! Like you I have mixed feelings about Eldorado, hopefully this one is a slam dunk!

Nah… I hope not! But I think there will be few minifigs/accessories/animals. Probably a repeat of the 3in1 set for the former and not much else. If it turns out the set is in fact a steal by today’s TLG standards then I guess it will be hoarding time but I would be very surprised. These days no sets hit the market at that ppp other than those loaded with the smallest of parts.

What do you guys think of the cmf nutcracker shako? I don’t know why but the whole figure rubs me off the wrong way (despite buying a few as redcoat stand ins). Maybe the wig? It looks good from the back, but front view has odd shaping.

Agreed with jodawill, would have bought the ship alone (at lower price, though with TLG greedflation the whole set was a steal looking back). You guys may remember the survey they ran on “membership”. One option was to say one wanted access to retired sets. If it ever sees the light of day, PoBB or other sets, I wonder if all the prices will be jacked up).

Ytb channel bricksonville combined two sets. I’ve known him for expanding Modulars (which he does pretty well). Either he rushed (was uninspired) on this one or merely buying a second set is no silver bullet to crank this fortress to 11. He even added parts of his to no avail (imo). Twice the price not twice as good… until a creative soul proves me wrong in the coming weeks and months. ps: no disrespect to Bricksonville, I would probably do worse myself. My reaction to his video is that to a cautionary tale whereby I shouldn’t buy two sets and expect guaranteed fireworks!

Any chance you can post pics in this thread? For anyone interested in online privacy RB is a nightmare of a website (dozens and dozens of cookies, some installed for decades on one’s device, impossible to reject bar for painstakingly and manually changing default settings… at which point the site starts acting up). Not sure where RB is hosted but pretty sure it is not complying with data protection laws in many jurisdictions. Sorry for the odd comment… just very eager to see what you did without compromising my device for the rest of my life😁

Yep, nice and easy, a few additional pieces (at the same msrp) would have placated most critical voices. Impossible the designers didn’t see it (and missing bricks elsewhere). Working to a budget is fine but not to the obvious detriment of the end result when so little can have such an impact.

I am surprised not to see more content of multiple builds so far. Guess people go crazier on battle packs (!). Having two sets next to each other looks nice enough from a distance but I am sure some will come up with more “integrated” combinations. I will not buy the set before Majisto so I have to live vicariously through you guys:)

The day I join you guys bricklinking stuff is probably the day I go broke. FOMO + “too good a deal to pass on” + too many retired parts/sets I cannot be tempted to buy from TLG sounds like a recipe for disaster for me personally. I don’t go to casinos, bars, or BL, safer that way:) that said congrats on your haul, I doubt you regret it if you are right and they all are legit!

A come back of the imperial flagship… that is one that would hurt the wallet big time (as I would expect a jacked up price) but my guess is that it would trump PoBB and 10320 in terms of popularity. Let’s enjoy what we have for now!

Impressive forensic IT skills. Going to keep the faith it might only be a temporary flag/limitation. Because it does involve third-party IP maybe we’ll be fortunate enough that TLG will lift the restriction at some point). i was eyeing the admiral hat and torso for napoleonic era cavalry but if we only have the soldier torso (and shako), I’ll be pretty happy already.

It might be commercially savvy but I for one am surprised as I thought only third-party IP was subject to such restrictions. Not sure why imperials would be excluded when lion knights were not for example. In fact, in the case of 10305 the queen torso (de facto the most exclusive in the set) even ended up in build a minifig stations… TLG work in mysterious ways…

It might be time for my first foray into BL then… i have resisted the temptation to go down that rabbit hole until now as it might make my habit even worse…

If it turns out to be true, what a letdown, to me worse than the set never seeing the light of day. I really hope we have a shot at a decent number of imperials at a reasonable price. No purchase until the verdict is in:(

Yep UK-based. Good idea to brick build doors for the main entrance. Admiral chamber has to lose the cannon and make better use of the space that can be fully enclosed. But for someone like me who has quite a few pirates but ZERO imperials, 6 won’t do so I will wait to find out whether or not more can be purchased on their own (and I don’t need the legs😆).

Admiral being IP locked is a bummer:( how doesone even find out about this? Are the soldiers unlikely to make it to PaB too? If that is the case then it is a double edged sword for TLG. I might reconsider getting the set altogether if I have no hope of adding to the troops at a more reasonable price point…

Lion knight had one… and “worse” still, about a month or two after launch (in my region at least), TLG did what they never do whereby one could get a pretty good discount on this set and a few others in exchange for a token amount of vip points (going by memory). I write “worse” because I had already bought it to secure the forrestman gwp… most expensive set I ever bought and I missed out on the discount! Lego is like romantic relationships (love hate?), one has to learn from past mistakes!:)
