    I wonder how long the stream is supposed to last… and whether they will eventually get to content not known to the minority we’re in… as I wrote they just announced they are wrapping up so all this to cover products which were already fully disclosed on their own website. Oh well.

    Happy to now 100% know we’re getting an affordable Rex! The other pics/sets underwhelming (the mandos look an awful lot like the recent one which made its way to the magazine this side of the pond, and paz vizla is identical isn’t he?). Does it mean TLG has nothing left to reveal tonight??? I think they have the backpack introduced in the city space lab this year (which in the right colour is great for clones imo).

    About May 4th in the UK, is it the case that there is no 2x VIP across all SW sets but only the vouchers on a handful? So you’re out of luck and would have to pay full price in most instances? Thanks

    Random question: I have a handful of chewbacca minifigures… and no other wookie. Has anyone ever attempted to paint them to grow the tribe? How hard is it to paint over a minifig? Thks

    So the release of the set has me dipping my toes into the d&d universe and I’ve come across recently released (for free) starter campaign pdfs. Granted the one with TLG collaboration is also free to download but I don’t think WoTC have charged them anything for it. Surely the number of vip points they want for it far exceeds the printing cost incurred which is not a classy move. That being said, seeing the BL prices for it and that of the mimic gwp, clearly some are undeterred! It actually led me to use my vip points and buy the set with the hope I will eventually sell the mimic to make it a much better value proposition. Shame as I like it but I don’t value it as much as others it seems.

    The dwarf cleric in the set doesn’t have mid-legs, does he? In the render for the cmf, only one seems to have midlegs (the one with antlers). I wonder why that is vs. Rivendell for ex.

    Many thanks! So that dude is indeed a red wizard, I thought I recognised him after watching the movie. I think I will have to watch it again once I am better versed in the lore as most details were totally lost on me (I thought the movie was mostly made up vs. actually and correctly referencing existing d&d material). Now let’s just hope the cmf rumour is true and the figs will be as good as they look in the render!

    Icm, good for you! At least you’ll be happy on the day that’s the magic of lego maths! I like the droid carrier for what it is and the spending threshold is in fact a bit lower than I had expected. Your combo or the ghost was what I had in mind but I spent on a non-SW set only yesterday and now I better spare my wallet and skip May the 4th entirely. I will be tempted though…

    Just starting out venturing into the D&D universe so could someone list the race and class of the cmfs in the render. Some are obvious even to a novice like me (e.g. dragonborn in the top right corner) but is the figure bottom right supposed to be a “red wizzard” for ex. Or most of the minifigs are meant to be more generic? Thanks for the insight, it will me acquire appropriate knowledge ahead of Sept to enjoy it even more!

    Nice! For once it feels like you can actually buy “blind” and be happy with what you get! Might be first time I actually buy a box!

    The mockup of the CMFs might have been taken down (or social media has moved on already) as I can’t find it anymore. Can anyone remind me its source (not how to find it but how “accurate” these might actually prove to be)? For example there was a very nice looking mandolin, is that likely to go in production or the visuals were more wishful thinking than anything? The answer is probably buried somewhere in the thread, if I remember correctly the initial leak was a word description of the characters and someone translated those into visuals? Thanks

    To the D&D connoisseurs out there: what content is good for a total beginner who would like to tip his toes (with his kids)? There is so much for sale online it is not obvious where to start and reading the customer reviews is like trying to get a grasp of a totally foreign language. I am thinking about familiarising myself with it all before deciding whether the lego set is worth the price of admission. Thanks.

    I think it’s an expensive set, but a good one. Selfishly I thought that TLG might offer a discount if it didn’t sell (not holding my breath). Nothing more to my initial comment.

    Too bad! It seems D&D has quite a fandom (outside lego) so I guess the set will sell despite its price tag. Was hoping slow sales might lead to discount in Sept when the cmf releases.

    Also, I am not clear on the inn keeper/dark wizard minifig: are there two pairs of legs and two torsos (I doubt it) or is it just a second head + hood and cape to turn him into his true self? For the price would be nice to have the extra minifig.

    I don’t have the set but I’ve gone through the first two instruction booklets and it looks like a really nice build. Not being into D&D myself I wish it came without the dragon and was cheaper as a result. I like the Ideas design better optically but what the TLG designers did with it translates into a nice building experience or so it seems. Enjoy if you have it!
