  1. Bricklink uses a bot to tell whether or not something is available on the various lego sites and the "sales timetable" doesn't differentiate between "temporarily out of stock" vs. "sold out". Although I do recall it being listed as soon retiring, so I can see some vendors starting to run out of stock soon as it's not available at Amazon.com How much this could be because of the global shipping delays, I don't know but could be contributing if it's still in production.
  2. I too got back into Lego from my Grey Ages (buying one or two sets a year) due to the 2018 line of HP! I too was expecting DH sets too. I'd recommend getting at least some of those. The Train is one of my more enjoyable ones (I bought two just to moc a bigger version!). They do tend to remake these quite often in the iteration of HP. Burrow is fantastic and one of my favorites as a whole. Astronomy Tower is a great set too and don't expect that to get remade anytime soon. Diagon Alley will definitely appreciate in value in the future regardless of the continuation of 2018-2020 line. I'd go ahead and get them, especially if you are leaning towards yes, as man of those are set to retire this year. Considering they have been out for a while, many (besdies Diagon Alley) could be on sale. The Train is on sale in many places right now and I've seen the Astronomy Tower on sale occasionally at least here in the US - so not sure how the Mexican market is. What small sets are you missing?
  3. Still shows Temporarily Out of Stock in US lego.com. Is it sold out elsewhere?
  4. Yeah, that's what i took from this most recent interview with Marcos. I think I often forget how much pull the IP's have on what gets made by toy companies like Lego. My optimistic side says that WB wanted to do something different with Lego wholeheartedly agreeing and perhaps some return to normacly arrives back in 2022. I still don't expect any of the 2018-2020 era to come back in the same way, but perhaps it's legacy will linger on and we will get sets with the same passion and balance. I look at it like 2018-2020 is a Wagyu Filet Mignon, and the Anniversary Year is an expensive Gourmet Burger. It may be lunchtime where I am :)
  5. “A few months later we were discussing candidates for the next D2C for LEGOHarry Potter, and wanted to make sure we brought in something unique and different,” Marcos continues. This leads me to think that Gringotts wasn't being really considered, at least for 2021, as they wanted something new. “Our IP partner was also keen to include a wand in the anniversary celebration set, so the original sketch included a couple of books, a few potion bottles, a wand and Harry’s glasses, as well as a trio of golden minifigures: Dumbledore, McGonagall and Hagrid,” Marcos adds. This seems to suggest that it was WB that ultimately nixed a D2C of Gringotts since they wanted some wand element involved, given how everyone viewed this set as an "anniversary celebration set".
  6. NOOO! How else am I going to make a MOC teaming Harry Potter and Kevin McAlister fighting the bad guys?
  7. Read an article yesterday referring to major shipping delays across the board. The article suggests people should prepare early for christmas gifts due to this and stating things could take 4 to 6 weeks. Makes me think this is why it's taken weeks to get the August 1st releases - just got some of them just today.
  8. Other than the AT-AT, what's left for releases in 2021 and people's thoughts on what "Could" be coming in First Wave 2022?
  9. I feel the same. I have bought only one set (Hogsmeade) so far. I only plan on buying other sets when they are on a sale, and even then, I may not and just buy some pieces i want. I'm waiting to see what 2022 sets will be like and if it's basically the same as 2021, I'm not buying more and will focus on other series, especially if other licensed franchises are redone. I've already broken down numerous sets from 2018-2020 and stored them and my attention is elsewhere due to my waning excitement. I came in only last year during lockdown and felt so much joy collecting all the series with only the small Diagon alley set left to get and feel the attitude from Lego on HP took a lot of that wind from my excitement. I may not be optimistic, but I am still hopeful 2022 is better than this year. Anecdotally, I've seen TONS of people selling their entire HP sets online for the past year when this wasn't the case before - I have no evidence, but my gut is saying that HP has taken a financial hit this year and this quote recently about the line is them attempting (and failing) to soften the blow.
  10. You could always go a step further - They could make Shell Cottage Set with a morose Bill and Fleur Weasly and little cemetery on the sand hill. Include a random car and boom - instant best seller! If they can make the genocide machine of the Infinity Gauntlet killing half the Universe, they can make sets from Deathly Hallows.
  11. I haven't yet. I bought Hogsmeade just recently but it showed the errors. I'll buy another one to MOC them twice as big once i see it on sale, but i suspect that won't be for months! I hope they update the instructions.
  12. "our overall values are more in line with the first few movies where there is more magic..." Yeah, i call baloney on the excuse that it doesn't go with anything. Evidence points to the contrary both within HP line and with Lego as a whole. How does the Death of Harry scene in the previous waves, the more recent Graveyard Duel set, or outside of HPthe Toy Story set where the entire set is based on burning every main character fit these "Values"n? How is destroying Horcrux's and combing all the lessons of the previous movies NOT the most magical aspect of the entire series? They are playing it safe in a world where risks can be rewarded. I worry Lego is learning the wrong lessons of their most recent success.
  13. I really wonder if they are going to be looking at the first 18+ branded set and see if there are more they can make of Deathly Hallows. They are doing that with the Star Wars Gunship for Prequel sets...
  14. Long as we get A Forest of Dean set and a Weasley Wedding Tent, I'll be happy. Big battle set of some sort would be icing on the cake.
  15. Costco had the BB? Surprised! They need to get into the Lego game more here in the US.
  16. I like this idea. Made me think of another good option too. It's dreaming but this could be how they do a one-off Deathly Hallows set that's slightly darker. A battle-of-hoth type D2C. It'd be an 18+ D2C "Battle of Hogwarts" set. With muptple areas of the outside. Courtyard where the final dual occurs, bridge battle with collapsible bridge, and enough minifigures with monsters to make it very active. Just a dream... I mean, they made the Vader's Meditation Chamber where he Force chokes someone to death for failing him for the last time...
  17. Do you think they'll make a new Falcon soon and if so, what era?
  18. This list definitely seems suspicious. Between the new accessory pack not even lasting a few months to the Pirates Ideas set being retired so soon...
  19. I wonder if getting similar color pieces but without studs showing would be a marked improvement to them - and therefore having only a few studs showing for texture.
  20. I'm definitely liking this set more and more, but the worst part of the set to me seems to be the scarfs. If I buy it, I'm definitely leaving off the scarf pieces entirely.
  21. Tie Fighter is simple but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  22. I also was put in a queue right after midnight. Bought a bunch of the smaller sets but somehow, despite ordering it at 12:30 AM ET, they put it in "review" and then many went in backorder, and I missed out on the Marvel GWP and not able to get any put one of the backordered SW sets. My first half of the order just shipped today and won't arrive until next week as well. I'm going to be pulling back from buying at lego.com as well, and other than big sets to get a nice GWP, I'll be trying the box stores more. Added - also a lot of items seem to be arriving dented or crushed.
  23. Yeah, and they had actual Coast Guard sets in the past as well.
  24. Oh my - a 30 dollar set called "Diagon Alley Street Scene" in similar fashion to the 501st set, but designed to be the same amount of figures, and a few builds of vendors. Basically an advanced accessory pack...
  25. That's what sometimes gets me about Lego. They make assumptions on something not selling well for what seems to be incorrect reasons. This and the Obi-Wan Starfighter seem like prime examples of this. I was in my dark ages during the Starfighter but that seems to me as a very unappealing set itself. Certainly isn't indicative of the fact I wouldn't jump at other Prequel sets or since one Sequel BP didn't appeal to me that I wouldn't buy other BPs.
