  1. Googling "Dobby Sock Lego Moc" I discovered a rather remarkable MOC created by Chung-Heng Cheng where a life-sized Dobby holding up his sock and the book. We may Mock the concept of a D2C Dobby's Sock lego set - but....I'd seriously buy Cheng's MOC of Dobby. So great! Dobby and Grogu next to each other...so much force and magic together!
  2. Here me out - D2C Dobby's Sock - the sock will be IN a D2C Tom Riddle's DIARY. Lego loves book constructs these days. Later, we can get a buildable Dobby HOLDING said Set with book and sock for the 2022 D2C new creation Ultimate Build Series (tag - not real)
  3. I agree. Seems decent in the spec pics, but defintiely could see a darker color being a bit better. Wonder what the final will look like!
  4. So...if I am understanding your posts, it's not that you don't respect him for his leaks or any of his actions posting of recent but it's just a personal vendetta you're against? Please, don't be a deatheater. I'd be curious WHY at this point but this is not the place to air personal conflict. Back to Lego - Dobby's Sock - Must have or ABSOLUTE HAVE?
  5. @Lego-Freak I agree. I was shocked at first too and similar, but then, as @Yope suggests, was all part of the fun. I really enjoyed thinking up crazy the August wave ideas - speculating on both realistic wave and worst case scenario humorous ones. I'll be buying them regardless. Now, if I don't get a D2C 250 Dobby's Sock...I'll just faint.
  6. @Guyon2002 deserves a lot of respect from members here and has legitimate connections to people in the know. I took his attempts at communication with us as an attempt to be reality- based and not have expectations run so wild, we'd be thoroughly disappointed in the rest of 2021's lineup. He Guyon wants HP to continue on and if we were so incredibly disappointed and angry at Lego for killing our expectations we didn't buy them, then HP would no longer exist. Guyon has a very fine line to thread and has to be incredibly careful. Guyon could just stop posting here at all, but thankfully, I appreciate and respect here on this forum and elsewhere. For those that have been a bit dramatic, this just came as a shock. Time will heal that and sometimes reality is a bitter pill to take that takes getting used to.
  7. Slightly off topic, but I definitely understand your last point, as I got back in just last year, and really enjoy the new Star Wars X-wing and Tie FIghter. Sure, would have preferred the ones from a few years ago that were bigger and nicer, but they did a great job on these. I would assume the same will happen in a couple of years for many of the 2018 and 2019 sets for HP.
  8. What if...and hear me out...Lego could create the largest set per piece count and most expensive lego set ever produced. It could be 14,000 pieces with a cost of 1000! What could this set be? Could it be - a Microscale Wizarding World -- a set somewhat similar to The Hoth playset, but smaller in scale and includes EVERY single place in the Wizarding World as seen in the movies. Azkaban? You got it! Inferi Cave? Most definitely. Tom Riddle's Orphanage? Definitely! Even the playground from Order of the Phoenix and the attack at the mobile home area in Deathly Hallows! All microscale. Yes, truly a marvelous set to behold.
  9. Predictions are what WE are doing here too. So I'd assume is a false lead. Was the Microscale Hogwarts castle popular to warrant another microscale set that expensive? I got in late to lego, considering buying it for how it can display, and for the microfigures, but I just don't really like the absolute microscale of the interior. I'd rather save for Millennium Falcon or a 2nd Diagon Alley.
  10. We expect leaks, like a Dementor expects patronum.
  11. All of those hit me in the feels, but when I think of Snape's sudden tender moment with Harry, and realizing how conflicted he must have been THE ENTIRE TIME, when he was bullying him. How much it ate him alive knowing, yes, this kid looks and acts like James Potter, but it's Lilly's child...ugh. Right in the feels.
  12. I agree. I look at the list of 2020 Sets from this theme and just think it was such a perfect year of sets. Even for the sets I was "ah, cool", I thought were very well designed and something very cool to contribute to the series. 2020 Harry Potter Sets 30420 - Harry Potter and Hedwig: Owl Delivery Polybag (Flying Hedwig is cool). for a polybag for me who came out of my "Gray ages", a nice and cheap set. 30628 - Monster Book of Monsters - Fun set, if albeit not perfect. 40419 - Hogwarts Student Accessory Set - a much needed set and shows they were listening to the fans 75966 - Hogwarts Room of Requirement - AMAZING set and for being an inexpensive one, with patronai (sic) of two characters and clearly a great effort to look like the movie. I'd had hoped (and probably expected) this would have been the basis for the upcoming Bathroom set. 75967 - Forbidden Forest: Umbridge's Encounter - not only teasing more Forbidden Forest sets, but amazing Centaur pieces included, along with an Umbridge figure. 75968 - 4 Privet Drive - Annoying has another Ford Anglia and not the bike, otherwise a very well done set. I would have liked the garage facade in front as well, but seems to be easily moc'd in from what i've seen online. An overall decent attempt to look like the movie while also showing a lot of playability. 75969 - Hogwarts Astronomy Tower - Wonderful set, and nice to see non-battle sets. Not perfect by any means, but still wonderfully detailed. 75979 - Diagon Alley - May not have Gringotts or Knockturn Alley, but for the four sets they have, amazing. I was seriously disappointed in the lack of other minifigures, but doesn't take away some of the awe I have for the set. 75979 - Hedwig - not everyone's cup of tea (me included), but for what it is, and for how cute Hedwig is, a wonderfully nice set as a display set. For any animal fans who also are fans of Lego and HP in particular, this would be an amazing set. If I was a kid, I would have absolutely loved this set. 759080 - Attack on the Burrow - To me, this is how remakes should be done, and what I initially expected when I first heard about "anniversary sets. Just such a fun set to me. 75981 - Advent Calendar - Nice "accessory set" to Astronomy Tower, but I did enjoy the 2019 set. @Lego-Freak, I too am probably guilty of this, but I've already taken down some of my Harry Potter sets I had on display and shifting my future focus to the upcoming Star Wars theme, which includes many Mandalorian sets. For 2020, I didn't see any absolute misses. Almost didn't buy Hedwig, but i kept seeing that adorable face...Even the moments were great imo and similar vein as the 2020 sets. I'm only excited about one set in 2021 so far, Hogsmeade, and that one I'd have hoped would have been more expensive to have much more detail. (I had hoped it was like two winter village sets combined into one.) @BacktoBricks, definitely feels like a Bludger..which is probably the D2C! 250 - Ultimate Bludger Experience, with new shooting mechanism.
  13. If sound brick's were a thing. We could finally have the ultimate crown in the Lego Harry Potter Series - "Hogwarts Moments - The Leviosa Scene"
  14. Yeah, I don't understand either. For me, as an older millennial, who was in a "gray age" up until 2020. I'd occasionally buy the random Ideas set or get a random gift of a nice set here and there. Even found a nice thrift find in 2019 that includes parts of the 2010/2011 series hogwarts set. The Razor Crest for preorder is what got me back since I was looking for a hobby to wile away the hours during quarantine. THEN - I discovered there were Harry Potter Lego...and my gray age was done. I bought practically every set. Discovered this site, Brickset, spent hours searching for old sets. Found sites that still sold the old sets, and was able to buy almost all of the 2018-2020 series. It's been a joy. My wife, who I got into Harry Potter but isn't into Lego actually enjoys building the small Harry Potter lego sets. She finds them very close to the actual movies and LOVEs the minifigures as I do. I showed her the pictures of these... other than Hogsmeade, it did not get the same reaction. So here's a fan of the series for years, and someone that grew up with Lego and as well as a person that doesn't usually liking Lego both loving them. I may get them, but I can't help but feel the spark is gone for this series. I'll hold my breathe and wait until 2022 series, but after seeing them, the spark for me is definitely not as bright. The 2018-2020 series, to me, seems like one of the pinnacle of overall series design EVER for Lego, that is at an intersection for almost all fans of Lego - Young, AFOL, and all sexes can find them amazing, playable, and displayable. This begs the question - Internally to the company, did some of the staff that "brought the magic" to the 2018-2020 HP design team leave, get let go, or move up in the organization?
  15. Maybe this is what jumped to my mind immediately reading his comment, but ff I read between the lines, and take the leakers silence as indication, i think it's being indirectly inferred (sort of Socratic method) that indeed the 250 set IS a playable set and will disappoint the fans that want a display, want Gringotts, etc. Makes me wonder if it's a Battle of Hogwarts (D2C) playset similar fashion to Assault on Hoth. Perhaps some slight façade of the castle in anniversary colors, and mostly deal with the courtyard, the bridge, and the grassy area to "recreate" the epic battle. Something that may include a lot of figures, and possibly including Giants and other beasts on the Voldemort side, and castle statues and lots of repeated characters on Potter-side. It would technically be DH but, of course, there's a strong darkness to the set if they include certain characters that we know pass in the movie. I'd certainly buy it but I can see THAT being a set people can LOVE or HATE. What if it's a Technic or Creator Ford Anglia? Crossover sets!
  16. The new Vidiyo Sets were officially released and there are some molds that would make PERFECT Harry Potter minifugres with just some color changes. Shark Singer - for the Shark-headed Krum from the 2nd Task. DJ Cheetah - for the Hermione as Cat in Myrtle's Bathroom Werewolf Drummer - for Lupin as Werewolf AND they wouldn't need to recolor! Genie Dancer - would possibly make good merpeople "leg" from the 2nd Task
  17. Oooo...Trying to come up with the worst, but also barely realistic, list could be a fun experiment! Here is mo not so serious attempt to create a list that could be plausible, not likely to ever be made, and definitely a disappointment to most. My attempt was to see what sets I personally would never buy. While I would be disappointed not to get a Gringotts this year, I would enjoy getting a motorized Hogwarts Express with Hogsmeade Station for 250 since I don't own a motorized train and msised the original one way back when or a Forest of Dean set (I REALLY want a Dumbledore Biography printed book piece). 250 - USC Doloras Umbridge - in the same vein as the 10018 Darth Maul torso from 2001 120 - Great Hall remake - NOT compatible with either the 2018 modular OR the anniversary one. They invent a NEW one in 2021, unofficially retiring the last few years of sets. 60 - Follow the Spiders - Remake of 2018 Aragog Set but includes more small spiders and a BRAND new Ford Anglia 40 - Buildable Blast-Ended Skrewt OR Buildable Sorting Hat (Not going to lie: I would probably buy the sorting hat ) 30 - Dobby's Free - Includes the same Lucias Malfoy as in DA, Dobby, and Harry Potter, but with new sock print.
  18. HOGSMEADE! YAY! I'm really looking forward to this set. How many else think this may look REALLY good as an informal addition to the Winter Village subtheme, especially with the snow added to the set? Hope it fits well and isn't too small.
  19. So frustrating for me too! I was able to finally get an order to the payment processing, and saw the cute lego heads processign my order, then it showed my credit card could not be authorized and order was canceled...here's hoping my credit card doesn't have a stop on it!
  20. Anyone else getting an Error when trying to buy sets on lego?
  21. According to The Harry Potter Lego section of Barnes and Noble (US) it appears the Monster Book of Monsters Set is sold out now. Does anyone know if this will be at Lego.com at all in the future?
  22. That's what is worrying me at the moment. The Original Ideas proposal showed 2945 pieces for the set. If it's only $120 USD for everything,I don't see how they include everything from the proposal. More likely would be a fascade or something like HP Privet Drive with only some of the main characters that were proposed, and all those were just printed miniatures without (possibly any) new molds. I hope that is the case. If it's similar to something like Olivander's or WWW, then i can still see the bulk of what the original ideas project staying intact just slightly smaller. Hope it's not a facade.
  23. I agree the website is fairly rudimentary with no options to see order updates and the 'contact us' form kept crashing. Had I not found the number and called and got the email back I would have been contacting paypal for my money back claiming they were not legit. That's very frustrating! I too ordered from them in August, along with some other extra items, and haven't heard a word yet. It was showing "Processing" still as of a few days ago when I previously checked. Just checked again and the website gives an error. Very frustrating. Wish I had bought it via paypal and not my credit card or i would be contacting them to cancel...
  24. Order shipped out on the 2nd and received mine just a few minutes ago in Chicago! Can't wait! As an aside, first time posting but I've been reading since page 100 or 200 or so. I wanted to thank you all for such a wonderful forum and such amazing fans of Harry Potter and Lego.Since Quarantine has started Harry Potter Legos have been a sense of joy in a very dark time in my life. My fiance and I's cat past away a few weeks ago. This set will be good therapy for both of us as we mourn. You all are amazing and glad, for those that have ordered them and are waiting for them still, the sets will bring you all joy as well.
