  1. I suspect they keep making it because it keeps selling well. As Lego has stated repeatedly, children grow up and they have a new market for some sets. They clearly see the Landspeeder as a defacto set for this purpose that children would want. And apparently do want. Ironically, it's popularity has created the meme amongst AFOL's. I still don't expect it to be nearly as popular. But i'd have thought the Tantive IV would have been sold for longer than one year, and miffed i didn't buy it when it was on one of the rare Lego sales last year.
  2. You're onto something here! Definitely can see that the larger sets liek U2C and large D2C taking even longer to develop, since they have to be stable enough sets. Based on what I've seen, any set seems developed as follows Idea Phase Design Phase Dream Design (designers make ultimate set, that then gets parsed down to the Price Point, or Piece Point of the set) Pare Down Design Phase Approval Phase Often would have engineering tests and redesign Production Phase Release I often think people forget it takes a village to make one set, and Lego is simply a corporation trying to maximize profits while minimizing costs. I have a hunch Lego U2C Landspeeder was one that was always thought to be made. I hope that is true for other items, like U2C Trade Federation Ship, MBS Endor Attack, etc.
  3. Jonathan just posted this on his Instagram and it's gotten thousands of comments, many of which say they'll be buying Lego for the first time. Looks like it could be a hit set.
  4. Promobricks updated the AT-ST info. It is NOT 18+, is $50, 3 minifigures (Pilot, Chewbacca, and Hoth Rebel) and a Imperial Search Droid,
  5. Yes, sets are planned, often, 2 years before they are released. It's why one of the designers talked about what non-licensed themes were continuing in 2023. 2022 Lego sets are largely written in stone and in production phase at this point. I'd imagine if sales have been good on the Gunship already, they may be in discussions NOW about 2023 and 2024 PT sets, especially PT USC sets.
  6. Yeah, I hope not either. I thought the set was put on the retirement literally the same month as it came out - which makes NO business sense to me. I'd think they'd want to see what sales actually were first. US HP fans love a good accessory pack. My guess, based on all of them they've issued for multiple Licenses, is that they last about a year or so. On a less serious note - Star Wars is getting a UCS Landspeeder for an actual set - so a D2C Dobby's Sock can't be THAT far off, can it? haha
  7. It's time to play the music... I assume it'll be back. I know there are still shipping delays impacting the globe.
  8. I'm excited! I wonder if they will also release a "stage" set someday (especially if it sells well). With their Sitcom focus in some sets, the Stage WITH the backstage area would be AMAZING. I also REALLY want a Labyrinth set someday. Jareth minifigure? YES, please.
  9. In the comments, the Reliable Source also said at least 5 sets are coming. Assume that means that specific wave the AT-ST comes in.
  10. If they choose one of the apartments from the show (which i'd hazard would be what they'd do), I hope they pick the Philadelphia series. A nice historic looking brick house in Old City Philadelphia with the ktichen and living room "set" on the first floor. This would make it great for making Moc's and making it modular.
  11. I wonder if they make it like previous sets have had "scenes" (Slug Club and Yule Ball), and make it Christmas themed could help make it less "dark". It could have figures attached to the Christmas party they had in Order of the Phoenix.
  12. Also, there is a Lego set of a toilet and bathroom.
  13. Not sure if it's been talked about before, but i noticed on the Amazon.com (US) listing for the Deluxe version of the Skywalker Game, their used to be a picture that included the Luke Minifigure, but now it's no longer being advertised. Is there any hints at this or is it because the game is delayed so often? I also don't see it mentioned a minifigure comes with the Deluxe version either.
  14. Only way that description of the common room set would be an additional minifigure OF the Fat Lady Portrait, set inside to make it a "playable portrait". Sort of in the vein of the D2C chocolate card.
  15. I'm beginning to think you should work for Lego.
  16. That'd be a good release. I'd love a remake of Dumbledore's Office #4729 from 2004. Would work well in the box modular system of 2020.
  17. Trailer was fun! Definitely excited for the movie. I so wish they made a set coming out at the same time as these Lego Animated movies.
  18. I mean, at the end of the day, Lego IS an toy company. They aren't worthless if they brought you joy at some point. I'm on the fence to an extent, but very happy to hear about a set focused on the Hospital wing as it's a crucial set in multiple movies. I am also very intrigued by the Trunk as it's sort of a Creator 3-in-1 style customization set. Could be fun and definitely a great build for kids and fans of the series and for AFOL's, a good parts set. I particularly enjoyed the FB suitcase set.
  19. What are people's thoughts on what will make it in Round 3 and what are the frontrunners? I'd suspect Observatory, Winter Chalet and Traingate would be the top 3. But what others?
  20. Checked lego.com in US and the box of 6 for CMF is showing Sold Out. Do people suspect they'll come back in stock sometime soon? Surprised to not see "Temporarily Out of Stock".
  21. I'd hazard to guess they are gimmicks, something small, or what will be the "evergreen" sets constantly re-made. Star Wars had one like that for a smaller x-wing and tie-fighter and can see them doing something similar. Still holding out on USC Dobby's Sock though.
  22. Yeah, i've felt the same so 2022 has to be make or break! Bring on the goodness! hopefully one of the people in the know could give us some hopeful hints. HH's for HP.
  23. Lego can have my money for all these.
  24. I still think they'd make more money if they bumped it up to 150 to 200 and made it compatible with the regular modular sets. Non-HP fans who have cities would buy this easily to adapt and put in their city. Either 99 or 200, I'd buy it DAY ONE. If 99, probably 2 :P
