  1. Jack the Monkey would probably be pretty possible if they can print sufficiently on the current monkey mould. I think it would pretty well and has a similar cheekiness to some of Jack's poses.
  2. Jim is not stupid, but Jim does include deliberate spelling mistakes to test us all and ensure that we are paying attention! The update looks great! Thank you!
  3. For every example of a full set of figures, there is another with a surprisingly low figure count. The Endurance, Barad Dur, and half the Star Wars ones. You might also argue The Batcave shadow box, and Disney Castle. But I hope they'd do a full crew lineup given the desire for them and the lack of a full wave.
  4. Yes, fair points. Hindsight and all that, plus applying current ideas to the past. But I'm also glad it's not three (or even nine!) Gollum movies, so they can try and concentrate on making one good movie to get people excited and engaged with it.
  5. Phew! This is the thing you need in a text forum! Although the fact several considered it could be serious speaks volumes of some of the crazy decisions some of the movie studios make, especially with sequels.
  6. Really? I hope that's not a mistake. It was a great idea to turn three LOTR books into three movies. They had lots of content. It was an awful idea to turn a short single book into three movies, because there wasn't sufficient content and (to me) it felt like they had to expand things too much and add in a lot that didn't really contribute a lot to the main story or the overall experience. That in turn caused it not to be nearly as popular. And so LEGO got burned by poor merchandising sales. And we lost LEGO LOTR for a decade. I hope history doesn't repeat! Edit: I read this as three movies, which sounds like a bad idea. Nine suggests you are joking? Clearly it's too late for me. Please say you're joking!
  7. It looks good though. Better than Fluffy in Harry Potter.
  8. I saw someone post instructions for duplicating the middle floor - LEGO MOC Tudor Residential Floor by Brick Artisan | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO It doesn't show this added to the modular for all four floors, but it made me think the styling would be too unbalanced, with just a tiny bit of Tudor timber framing. I wonder if it's possible to do the additional floor in the same black and white style to make more of a clear architectural style?
  9. I feel it's a very American thing. I'm from the UK. Never heard of them. Moved to America. Surprisingly common!
  10. Let's hope this one comes along in a few years too then!
  11. I wonder if they've gone out and found original goats and bought them all, or just created new ones. If new ones, then does it count as a GOAT goat, given that it's a new mould? (I don't care, but I reckon some people in goatland definitely will).
  12. That sucks, sorry! It took a while for me to get connected to, but once I was, it was resolved very quickly. Sorry that wasn't the same for you. Hopefully they'll ship everything soon and we all have completed gorillas and crocs!
  13. I got in touch with customer service after the lost orders comments earlier. My Oct 14 order should be shipping in 1-2 weeks. My Nov 11 order in 2-4 weeks. Neither is lost, which is good. They also gave me 5200 points, which I didn't ask for or expect, but very nice. The chat agent wrote a big paragraph about it, which I suspect is copy/pasted so they're probably getting a lot of requests about this.
  14. They don't publish the tracking numbers for standard orders, at least in the US. But if you contact them, they may give it to you.
  15. It's not coming up on a Target search, but a Google search shows the page for individual figures at Target. None of my local stores have them in stock though, and they always appear to be a few weeks late. Lego Minifigures Series 27 Collectible Toy 71048 : Target Have you seen their website? It's so awful and crammed full of the most terrible and obtrusive ads. The entire thing is clickbait and none of the links are useful. It's so spammy. I hate it every time I fool myself into clicking onto their site. I also use Minifig Scan and it's been extremely good.
  16. My October 14 standard parts order is still in the warehouse. I will contact them tomorrow if there's a risk it's been lost. Nice to see new parts coming on. Hope they open the standard parts ordering again and have a load of new elements added. All of the Christmas jumper torsos are out of stock, which is a shame. Is that out of stock because they've just been added and were added as out of stock? Or were they in stock and it's a leftover supply that's been snapped up?
  17. The mushroom house was so much fun. I built it over the holidays and I'm really looking forward to the village. I managed to find two extra CMF D&D Halfling Druids to populate it as I thought they matched nicely.
  18. It's a clear pattern. Right up the point that LEGO decides to do something different! I do think I'd prefer Futuron over Blacktron 2 though.
  19. The original TOS is really old, so while it's known, it's not front of mind for many. The reboot movies dropped off in commercial performance, with the last one losing money and the next one being in development and cancelled a few times. All of which suggests Paramount (and therefore LEGO) aren't convinced of it's commercial success. Meanwhile, the various new series appear to have been doing very well, and Picard appears to have been very popular. Season 3 bringing back everyone has allowed it to feel really good for nostalgia purposes, but they also all know what they're doing, and they don't have to disrupt the main thread by inserting various back stories. All of which helps put TNG more prominent than TOS. At the moment. If they'd done this ten years ago, it easily would have been TOS. Either way, I hope we get both eventually. Voyager. DS9. Bird of Prey. Borg Cube. etc. etc.
  20. I'm not feeling the castle sets, to be honest. The Seaside Market just feels a bit too similar to the Lion Knight's Castle in terms of the build style, but looks simpler. Although the modularity is cool. The Siege Encampment all looks great, but it costs quite a lot and I feel like you could get away with half the amount of stuff and still feel satisfied with it. Series 4 has been the weakest for me (and series 5 and 6 are ahead of it too). The train is expensive, but looks great, so I may have to get it, depending on the stability and ability to motorize. I really like the Riverside Scholars design and might have to get it to match the others. And I thoroughly enjoyed building NicolasCarlier's caravan theatre from the MOC Pop-up store, so I'm tempted by the Merchant Boat, although there is a lot of similarity in the overall style, so it may not be as fun 'second time around'.
  21. I got seven or eight of the toucan birdwatcher CMF because I feared they wouldn't bring it back and/or it would be expensive if standalone and things were more reasonable then. Now, as you say, the animals can be more expensive standalone, which seems crazy.
  22. Where are you all getting your history books? All of these things happened, and some of them are not laughing matters!
  23. I've had old brown pieces shatter when putting things together, so it definitely can happen. But agreed that old brown plates and brick separators really don't mix!
  24. Well, in a pleasant surprise, I went into a local Best Buy and they had three clean boxes. I came away with the seven wolfpack I was hoping to eventually get. Very fortunate. And I found the new botanicals polybag that I didn't think I'd see, so that was even better. If the wolf comes in a set, that could mean it will be on PaB eventually. Although given the cost of the goat, it may well be very expensive compared to a CMF pack.
