LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
RichardGoring replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I mainly considered that it could be a way to sort of achieve the brief in a realistic setting, given that LEGO appear to like licenses and at some point, when they've rewritten the script for the 87th time, they'll make a movie about Discworld and that could trigger merchandise. And it's not actual religion, so even more chance. But you're right, it's a bit weak. Just projecting my own desires really! And if we got Om too, then a tortoise too. Even more for animal fans to be excited about! -
Still the old BAM towers. I didn't notice anything else different, other than the repositioned printers. I was last there a year ago or so, I think?
-
I didn't notice any obvious renovation work, but then again, it was hard to see anything through the throngs of people! The BAM print factory has move since I last visited, now being next to an old entrance, so probably?

I went to the LEGO Store at Disney Springs and they didn't have the new February figures (with the reddish orange brick suit). I think they normally get things on the earlier side in the US, so maybe it's not a February release, or perhaps it is Europe only, which would be a huge shame.

There were a couple more instances, but not many. While you probably wouldn't lead with that as a design intent, given that it's building blocks, and a somewhat iconic feature of the ship, if you can do it, you would. It's one of those gimmicks that will be mentioned endlessly in the press about the set, and then used by people who own the set as many times as it was done in the show!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
RichardGoring replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
At this point I'm the conversation I wonder if a wave of Discworld sets and a CMF would satisfy a chunk of the requests. Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Magrat, Wee Free Men, and a load of the stuff in Pyramids, Small Gods, and Last Hero. Although they would likely focus on Ankh Morpork, so it would get diluted. Would still be fun though. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
But there are two major differences between the two. 1. Star Trek is set several hundred years in the future in the Milky Way, whereas Star Wars is set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. 2. Star Trek is amazing whereas Star Wars... But in all seriousness, if the new Star Wars license was done in 2022, it may have been part of a wider Disney license where 'competing' franchises aren't as important as with Lucasfilm doing the negotiating. Also it ties in with LEGO making a big push into the Adults Welcome/18+ marketing area, so they may have held out for the ability to explore other areas to support this. Hence classic/older space nostalgia and Star Trek. They may also guarantee Disney or Star Wars a certain proportion of sets/revenue/profit, making it more important for LEGO overall to be successful (for both parties), rather than just the Disney owned stuff. But who knows. As stated, these agreements will be hundreds of pages long. -

Shame that they interrupted him expanding further by having someone leave and another join. -

A Pick a Brick Standard is never late, nor is it early. It arrives precisely when it means to. -

The last I heard they had suggested mid-February, but also that the updates they're making have had some issues, so who knows? -
Agreed, this is awesome. I got the stonemasons guild version from the MOC Pop-up store and loved the build. I'd definitely get this to go along with it too. All part of the site. Good luck!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
RichardGoring replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Bot only a decent animal, but one that is pretty much the definition of a pack animal, so you would almost always want a decent sized group of them. Coupled with the fact that if (and it's a big if) they release the wolf in a set and then on PAB, recent experience suggests that it will cost a lot. Possibly more than the entire CMF. Yes, very much so! People are seeing that these figures sell for $30, so some will buy up as many as possible thinking it's a huge return. I hope that resellers will become saturated and the prices will drop heavily, but even a 50% reduction will mean it's very expensive and there is a decent profit to be made for those with the right setup. I'd love that. A new forestmen torso to add some variety would be great. And a deer or fox would be awesome. I wonder if they'd do a dragon knight with a baby dragon though? Or a CMF based on the new castle faction coming with the minifigure gumball machine. Several animal options there. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Racing Brick has a video review of 10362 French Cafe which some people thought might make a good modular MOC starter kit. He shows minifigures with it, and it's very clearly too large in terms of furniture, but I think the facade itself is reasonable. But it's expensive for a one floor facade to a building. -

That looks really nice. Will definitely get some in my next PAB order. -
I also felt a bit underwhelmed, mostly because I was overwhelmed with so much repetition. While it is all better than I could do, and the builders are clearly very good, there was so much that was the same as has previously been submitted. I think I probably voted for fewer in this round than any previous ones. I wonder why there appear to be so many alchemists in this round?! The Fortina frigate looks great. I love the colour and shape of the Elven Haven. The Steampunk Mobile Observatory is fun. And I like the spaceships by jazlecraz.

Although it will actually be stickers replicated on bricks in the 24th century, so no need to place them.

Curiously, I think the Mosasaur is my favourite of the four! The Spinosaurus mould is good, but the colours put me off a bit. I suspect it will be better in real life though.- 5,900 replies

I checked my order on lego.com and realized that the single torso they have now processed is left over from an older order, and I had clearly forgotten about it. Oops. -

I like LEGO clubs, but this is not one I cared to join.
