I've been building some of the Star Trek midi scale ships by skyfox2k on Rebrickable and combined the Enterprise D with the Milky Way galaxy. I really like this scale, so I hope the official LEGO set is as good of a build and doesn't feel over the top at the size it is. Presumably the saucer section will be about 30cm in diameter, so a decent size. Balancing it on the stand may be challenging!

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks! I should have known to keep delving. Yes, monochrome it is. The Bluey torso doesn't interest me, but I thought I'd see if there was a more versatile option. Can't believe how rare it is. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I have just completed the Tudor Corner. I started it in late January and the first two bags took about three months. The floor just felt tedious for some reason. It then became a lot more fun when I started building up and it was pretty delightful in many places. The final bag was a bit of a let down, not really doing very much, but it was quick, and the rest of the build was there, ready to be completed. I now have it set up in a row with the Glass Studio by MingBrick from the Bricklink MOC Pop-up (and now Rebrickable) and the Boutique Hotel. They all look great together. -

I really hope it appears in the BAM towers. In the US, once things have been out for a little while, they allow you to take 15 pieces, so it can be really useful for amassing a collection of specific things. I've previously bought about 60 butterflies, 60 duckies, and 60 candy canes to customize seasonal bonsai trees. Ooh... I'm suddenly thinking that it might be cool to get a load of pigeons and put them into a greyscale bonsai. That's extremely tempting! Then pair it with the CMF film noire detective.- 5,907 replies

Licensed Lego Ideas - Support & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
There are so many impressive designs in this round. -
I think it's great that they've updated the capacity limits, and done it dynamically, which I assume is to cater to the sets that are in highest demand and making the best use of their limited production allocation. Things selling out in minutes is ludicrous, as is within a day. It's great that we're four days in and nothing has sold out, so all those interested have a sensible chance to get something. I care not for resellers, but nor for those collectors who talk about reducing exclusivity. I fundamentally disagree that LEGO should have exclusive things. I'm not going to say 'it's only a toy' because some clearly treat it differently, and that's OK, but 'it is also a toy' is perhaps fairer and should be applied in most cases - especially as these are all minifigure scale sets, which is pretty much defined by being a toy!

With credit to @mark1991t I think these are the direct links for series 5 later. Saves having to go through Bricklink and then to LEGO, so we avoid at least one of the overloading sites. https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910049 Adventure in Transylvania https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910050 Antique Shop https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910051 Mushroom Village https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910052 Popcorn Wagon https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910053 The Thieves of Tortuga

Perhaps the number of votes they had in comparison with previous rounds? Or it could just be the marketing way of saying that they're increasing capacity in general, but let's make it sound special for just this round (and not tie themselves into overproduction for future ones if it doesn't work out).

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
RichardGoring replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes, it's the same for me (in the US). But some of the other Dreamzz sets have gone on sale from LEGO, so that's what I'm hoping for. Perhaps a Black Friday sale. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
RichardGoring replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree with Ninjago. I want to like it, and find some of the individual sets good, but it doesn't feel massively cohesive. Whereas Dreamzzz, Monkie Kid, and Hidden Side's waves all do link together a reasonable way for me. I prefer them all over the average Ninjago wave. If Dreamzz did a few castle sets I could imagine they'd be really cool. A nightmare castle or tower could be awesome. They've already done a few bits and pieces related to castle. 40657 Dream Village looks great, but is far too small. 71486 Castle Nocturnia I really like, but it's expensive for what it ends up being, although I would definitely get it on a decent sale. It could have potential, but it's a shame it's ending. Having said all that though, they don't need to shoehorn castle stuff into other themes. I think a steady state of one or two castle sets per year would likely satisfy a lot of people and provide a sustainable line for LEGO without people being overwhelmed. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Was nearby a LEGO Store today so went in and got some of the new Dreamzzz figures, including the bright light blue space torsos and legs. It's somewhat frustrating to have to get new hands. Does anyone off-hand know if any current production torsos are available with bright light blue hands, except the monochrome one (6368622)? -

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
RichardGoring replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What we probably need is a new brownish grey or sand brown colour, but it's unlikely to happen, given that the LEGO palette tends towards more intense colours. -

I was fine with them as a child, but now I wish the modern versions were brown. I will eventually colour swap the LKC and Forest Hideout GWP sets. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
RichardGoring replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Agreed! It would be such a shame to make this into a Kraken ship, which really defeats the purpose of a nostalgia set. And the Kraken's deserve their own ship that is much more prominent, perhaps as their own floating/maurading base. -

Excellent! -
I rather like keeping black for Blacktron, so that they stand out as being a different faction when near the other figures. I agree that making it so difficult to get figures is frustrating. I'm personally fine with just white and red as they work well with the classic space ship colour schemes, but there's also something nice about a kaleidoscope of colours for the figures, in the same way that monochrome figures look neat. All together in a scene might look overly fussy though. It's definitely irritating that a bunch of the pieces are BAM exclusive, making it really hard for many to get hold of.

Ah, that makes sense, yes! Thanks. FWIW, you are clearly an excellent chemist who is good at teaching others. Pretty perfect for what you do, regardless of what those in the analytic gang say!
