Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
karrit replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I find that the Chinese New Yearsets have lots of interesting parts and recolor of some good parts. So I usually buy at least one if not both of the big sets. I passed on this year's though. They are usually very expensive and there wasn't enough newness I wanted to make either one worth actually buying for me. I'm just picking up the few parts I want from PAB this year. Those oversized heads & giant Rabbit just freak me out. The parade set was a cute idea but overall it just didn’t wow me and the smaller set just didn’t have anything I'm interested in. I did get the Tree set. -
I picked up HP, SW & Marvel in Costco the yesterday just to be sure I have them. If prices go the way they did over the past few years I will eventually return them if I get better prices from Target, Walmart or elsewhere. The Costco I went to only had one layer of a pallet left so I figured it was time to bite the bullet. They had lots of the SW one but only one row each of HP & Marvel. I know the few Targets I've been in didn't seem to have any HP ones out so don't know if they are holding them back or haven't gotten stock yet. I haven't really checked the stock in Walmart yet. Haven't gotten the City or Friends ones yet, but did see those as well as SW & Marvel in Target.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 25. Rumors and discussion
karrit replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I saw some in a local Walmart a couple of weeks back. All boxes were ripped open. Some had figs inside, the rest were empty. Numerous people have reported seeing the same. Haven't seen any anywhere else other than the LEGO store. They were intact there. If you bought one and it was something you didn't want they had some open ones available to trade. I was able to get two extra Agatha's to populate Diagon Alley by trading there. I purchased a complete set from an online source so I wouldn't have to play minifig roulette. Rumors that Boxed sets of all twelve are being sold somewhere in Europe as a test. I hope they follow through with this in the future. Much rather just buy a complete set and maybe try my luck with a few random ones once I have a full set. Then again I'd prefer they come up with a way we can just get the ones we want as I don't always want a complete set. Slight glitch with my complete set, they sent me a duplicate of one fig and none of another but they sent me the one I was missing after I contacted them. The two I purchased in the LEGO store to trade for the Agatha, one was another of what I already had two of & the other wasn't one I wanted an extra of so both were good for trade.- 574 replies

I kind of like it. It's got a bat, a pirate & a treasure chest filled with jewels, and a skeleton head. The build isn't spectacular but but combine this with the Pirate Ship Playground one we got a while back and there are definite possibilities.

Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
karrit replied to Huigberts Builds's topic in LEGO Licensed
Still have a few Disney sets on my wishlist. Was Planning to pick up Walt's Camera during AFOL Day so now I need to decide if I want to hold off for the GWP. Wish we had an Idea what the threshold will be. I have the Ideas set but this one looks cute. -
I'm pretty much in agreement with you. Looking forward to the Owlery finally as well as the Boathouse. Don't really need another Hagrid's Hut but the inclusion of Fang & Norbert make it one that is going on the wanted list as well as the Forest set. Sorting Hat is a definite pass. Ford Anglia & Privet Drive sign will most likely be a pass also.

With that Crescent Moon on the door it's definitely an Outhouse. Have to say that after visiting a few National Park units recently most of the Outhouse/Pit toilets I used were definitely a bit more pleasant smelling as opposed to the Restrooms that actually had running water but smelled absolutely disgusting. Don't know what they clean the normal restrooms with but they really need some Lysol, Pine Sol or something to obliterate the stench. At least with the outhouse/pit toilets you expect some unpleasant odor but most were surprisingly not too stinky. I'm really liking this Winter Village set but will be interested to see what the interiors look like. The upper floor looks pretty shallow.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Probably a glitch on my part. I'm seeing them now. I always click to see the out of Stock parts but probably it didn't take when I looked last night, sometimes I have to click on it twice. -

Pocahontas Hair, Earth Blue Snake & Purple Air Tanks have disappeared from PAB. There may be a few other items missing but those were ones I was waiting for to come back in stock. -

A lot of new parts listed on the US website. All currently showing out of stock of course. Definitely a few there I want. Let the stalking begin. -
Nope, don't care for ninjas in any form, any Ninjago sets I've bought have only been for interesting parts or the main build but not the minifigs or weapons. Late 80's, early 90's was some Space, Castle & Pirate stuff until a semi-dark age settled in. Got back into it when they released the first Star Wars sets at the end of the 90's. Picked up a handful of various small sets in a few other themes then re-entered the dark ages until the mid 2010's except for some small sets, mostly city, on sale and the occasional polybag. So missed the resurgence of Pirates and other classic stuff and sadly passed on the Ewok Village and opted instead for some of the Winter Village sets. Now it's Harry Potter, some Friends, some City other than Police & Fire, usually the Modular and Winter Village and whatever else I find appealing but definitely Pirate & Castle and the occasional Ideas set. I did get some of the Explorer stuff in the late 90's and a bunch of old random accessory parts packs if I found them in the Lego Store while visiting Disneyworld. I did get most of the Vidiyo stuff on clearance mainly for some of the parts. Loved the Elves theme but wasn't able to get everything I wanted before it ended.

Hidden Side I liked even though I didn't get all the sets. Ninjago doesn't do anything at all for me. I don't like Mechs and I don't like ninjas. They do have some interesting non-mech sets though, but I've no use for the Ninja minifigs. Give me Classic Pirates & Classic Castle along with a dose of Classic Space any day over Ninjago. I don't think I've ever bought more than a handful of Ninjago just fo the parts and an interesting build or two. Never got into Nexo Knights or Chima as they were a bit too out there for my liking. Found Nexo very robotic & Chima too heavy on the animal head figs along with over the top prints.

If it's anything like the last one it will run out within the first couple of days unfortunately. I was out of town last year so was only able to place one order before they ran out.

I don’t remember when we actually first saw the pictures for last years GWP. The rumors for this one have been out for months.
-
With all of the postings of which Marvel figures have parts useful for HP I can see I'm going to need to try to get some duplicates of a few of them now. I ordered a full set because I wanted to be sure I got all 12. But I'm not looking forward to playing blind box roulette to try for a few duplicates. Maybe I'll order a six pack from somewhere and take my chances with that. Still anxiously waiting to see some pictures of the rumored upcoming HP Vault GWP.

Looks Black to me. Would be great if it's actually PDG but the colors seem a bit off on a lot of the parts pictured. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Anyone able to decipher what the 24 builds in the Advent Calendar are? They didn't post a picture that shows all the builds like they did for the other 4 calendars. They only posted 2 that show about half the contents that you can see in a few of the other pictures but nothing with all the builds lined up other than the lifestyle ones which are kind of hard to decipher all the builds from the box art. I'm only coming up with 19-20 separate builds but they are probably splitting a few into more days than they should again. 7 minifigs, tree, train, fireplace, table with food, Hockey parts, reindeer, gold spider webs, wrapping station, snowman, green throne, ice sculpture?, red spacecraft, work table with toolbox, some other pedestal by Dr. Strange. So that makes 21 I can see. -
I'm happy with the Advent Calendar this year. Vast improvement over the last two. So glad they got rid of the game board gimmick and microbuilds. Yes the builds are sparse partswise but at least they are decent minifig scale builds. I may need to get two just for the printed parts & the new color for Malfoy's hat.

I've placed multiple standard PAB orders that I've purposely added a small inexpensive regular item to or a small order of best seller parts just to insure the GWP would actually be sent to me. I've also added some small standard PAB orders to a few larger item orders that didn’t quite make the minimum purchase requirement to be sure the GWP would be added to my order. It usually works. I just always make sure my orders containing any PAB items are big enough to insure I don't incur any of the related shipping or handling charges. I think just once they removed the GWP from my order but it was most likely one they had actually run out of. I had another PAB order I placed not expecting any GWP's that they did add them to. If the GWP's show up in my basket before placing the order I fully expect to receive them. If they don't get added to the basket I will usually hold off on placing an order.

I'm not one for buildable figures usually. But, as a huge Stitch fan I will definitely need to get this one. Kind of glad they went with a buildable figure rather than a Brickhead though. But they'll probably do a Brickhead eventually also. -
Not good as far as animal molds but it looks much nicer to me than the bulk of the ones from the past several years. At least there aren't any micro builds this time. Wonder if the Mrs. Claus torso will show up in the BAM towers.

Was in my nearest store on Sunday and they mostly had the Ninjago parts. No Falcon parts at all. They did have the Lion Knight Unicorn and the Wizard and a few other more recent parts but other than the dual molded legs in the blue/red, red/black & white/black combos there was nothing worth getting to me that I wanted more of. No animal accessories either. So mostly parts that you could get cheaper from PAB. Hoping they get something new & interesting soon.
-
The figures were in boxes rather than the bags you could feel through so no way to tell what was in them. A lot of people decided it was okay to rip open the boxes to see what was in them. Expect to see the same when the next wave of Marvel figures gets released because they will be in boxes.

Nope, nothing around here. Last one was in Walmart about 5 years ago. I always check when I see a magazine section somewhere but never find anything Lego related. I checked out the 2nd & Charles down around the Denver area last month but they didn’t have anything.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
karrit replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
So glad I placed my order last night. When I try to do my usual sort it totally freezes up on me when I try to sort newest parts first. Hope they get it sorted soon because the part count seems to have gone up by a few from what was there last night but I can't see them. Tried to get in in incognito mode & it froze up again. My normal bookmarks are now giving me an access denied error.
