We had the Christmas Carol GWP a few years back which was nicely done in my opinion. Don't see the need for them to revisit that story. We've also have several different Nutcrackers. And we did get the Home Alone set as an Ideas Set so hopefully any IP would go that route rather than taking the annual Winter Village spot. Also a lot of people have used or modified the Hogsmeade Village set for use in their winter villages. I also hope they stick to random Christmassy themed sets. Although a Currier & Ives style set with a Horse drawn Sleigh approaching a cosy winter house would be a very interesting set to me. Or maybe the one with the Skating scene.

I'm guessing this will be a European exclusive bundle. Would be nice if someplace in the US like Costco or Walmart got it. -

I already have all the Indy sets. The only other ones currently on my wishlist that I was willing to spend full price on were the Up House & maybe the Celebration Train but those two don't reach the minimum purchase threshold so I figured I'd just get the Sanderson Sisters Cottage now. Not a fan of the movie but I really like the looks of the build. -

Ideas Sanderson Sisters Cottage qualifies for the 100th GWP in the US. -

The more I see the new Castle the more I like it but really don't want to spend $400 on it since I already have the first one. The exterior on the new one is much nicer looking than the original. I'm not sold on the newer interior as the floor of the first level on the original was nicely done with tiles instead of plain studded plates that are used in the new version. -

Peter Pan set looks like it should be a GWP. Definitely not something I would purchase at that ridiculous price. While I like the exterior of the Castle much better than the original it's not something I want to buy another version of just to get the Minifigs and a few different scenes. Maybe if I eventually find one second hand for half the price. Overall really disappointed in all these new Disney sets. -
Doesn't matter to me what color they used since they chose not to make it transparent. It just looks a big ugly mess of bricks to me. More money to use toward other sets I find much more appealing.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
karrit replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Typical when they add new parts. Stuff keeps disappearing from my cart and then showing up as available again. Trying to decide if I should just go ahead & order what's in stock now & then eventually place another order or two or three as stuff reappears. -

Aside from the flesh color I like the way the front of this castle looks much better than the original one. With all the other expensive sets I'm interested in I don't know if I'll be getting this one but it will remain on my wishlist for now. I know the flesh tone matches the way the castle is currently painted but I much preferred the gray it was painted previously. Have to see better pictures & descriptions of the interior to decide if I really want to spend the money on this remake just for the figures. Not going to spend a couple 100 dollars just on the figures alone. -

He talks way too fast and I can't understand half of what he's saying. I have to turn on the closed captioning and read it. -
A big pass on the insects. But the Viking Village will be mine.

I fully intend to populate mine with minifigs rather than minidolls when I get it. It should be a simple swap.

Hope the capes show up eventually on PAB although given the prices they are charging for 1 green cape they won't come cheap. The Green ones are currently $2.53 US for one. Maybe if we get lucky they'll group them all together like they did Castle Flags. Hopefully they won't be $7.58 like they are charging for one white one.

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion

So basically that article corroborates what I posted earlier. It also would explain why it seems that smaller Walmarts turn over their Lego stock what seems to be more often than the Super Walmarts. Less shelf space so they need to make room for newer product. -
I know it's not really free. I'd guess they purposely produce more of one set than the other knowing they intend to offer it again or else they make more after the inital run to use later. But again what makes them choose one over the other? Still wish they'd revised the second one they cancelled in 2021 because it looked really nice. It seems to me that several previous Holiday GWP's have made more than two appearances in recent years if I'm remembering correctly.

The story I've heard in the past is the American retailers want fresh product on the shelves for the holidays. So rather than have these sets sitting on the shelf all summer with little to no new offerings as the holidays draw near they delay the release of some lines until August. By then the kids have headed back to school and aren't seeking new toys to keep them occupied so parents & relatives have something new to give them when the holidays roll around. Makes a bit of sense that they delay the City sets as those are aimed more at the kids. Some of the stores near me are just now finally getting in the rest of the January releases and have finally started reducing prices on sets from last year. -
I'd rather it was the Winter Elves set. I mean free bricks is free bricks but I don't need more of the Workshop so I would much rather have more of the Winter Elves set.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I thought I sort of had the PAB pricing figured out somewhat. Dual mould seemed to be 3-4x price of plain pieces & printed pieces 2-5x price of plain pieces on average with printed pieces normally less than dual molded similar pieces. And special molds have no rhyme or reason I can see since baby animals can often cost more than adult size counterparts. I'd been waiting for the January parts to be released because there are a lot of sets I just want a couple of parts from so not about to just go out and buy every set. Was shocked when I saw the price for the Penguin head from the Slushy Van so I figured it was dual molded which would account for the ridiculous price of $5.52 US. Was shocked when I finally built the set last night to see it is just painted. I did get the set on sale for 25% off at least so figured it was worth it rather than paying the price they were asking just for the head piece. But I give up on trying to figure out how they price anything now. -
Well I did my part by ordering one yesterday with 2x VIP points & all 3 GWP's. I had all the GWP's already but more bricks is always a good thing & the blankets are really nice.

Turns out we have a store in the next city called 2nd & Charles that seems to be affiliated with Books A Million somehow. I'll have to take a look next time I'm near there. I went in there once and they've got books, collectibles, records, cd's, videos and some other stuff. I know they buy used books & stuff but I don't recall seeing magazines when I was in there. -

Thanks, none of those anywhere near me. I get e-mails from them so will check to see if they offer any of these online. -

Where in the US have you seen these? -
I'm in for whatever as long as it's a Pirate set. I didn't get any of the original fortress or trading post sets. I have a couple of the ships so I need some Imperial forces. I think I have two or three of the smaller sets that just had a rowboat, or small one story sentry post.

I really like the small sets that include some desirable animals or interesting parts. Most of the bigger sets tend to have a few new pieces of interest and a boring building with yet another police or fire vehicle, helicopter, boat or some other big build I have absolutely no interest in. Not spending $30 or more on a set just for some new animals. Not really into most of the vehicles so if half the pieces in a set are for some big vehicle unless I find it on a huge sale I just wait for the parts I want to show up on PAB. I did get the whole recent safari series because I wanted all the animals and didn’t have anything similar in my collection. Did grab extra animals from PAB. -
I got that polybag with some VIP points too. It is supposed to arrive today. They had me at sea otter.
