I gotta say, having the Great Hall elevated REALLY helps the exterior look. I think the exterior for these sets looks better than the 2018 line, imo. the interior of the Great Hall, however, is pretty abysmal

I know someone earlier mentioned the term "cash grab", which many of you thought was not applicable here, but does anyone else feel like LEGO is trying a bit too hard to get us into collectables? I mean besides the CMF, we now have golden figures you need to "Purchase ALL to collect!", and even more so these chocolate frog cards, which you can't even get all of with purchasing every set! Honestly, this is becoming a bit too sleezy for me. How about you just make the sets good enough that we feel the urge to buy them all, not dangling a carrot on a stick and giving us a sense of FOMO by not getting everything

The chess set looks like a disaster for...actually playing chess. The squares are tiny and I can already see pieces falling over easily with just a hand trying to move a pawn.

Can someone DM me the prelim shots again? I’m curious how they compare to the final sets

I just wish Hogsmeade was bigger 😩 the interiors are tiny! I won’t lie, I actually like the Hogwarts exterior designs more than I thought I would. the Harry and Hermione buildable mini figs, my god they’re hideous! I can’t believe that is a set

I gave up on the theme this year months ago so I don’t even have any energy to care about the D2C anymore. I’ll give them one more year but if next year is just more buildable object crap then I’ll just stop following the theme

Gonna be honest, I think the 2018 style Hogwarts sets are done. Wouldn’t expect another expansion.

10k or 20k isn’t going to change LEGO’s ultimate decision. Just because there’s 45 projects doesn’t mean LEGO is going to choose more or less. They’ll still deny all of them except the LEGO telescope or whatever wacky display piece is next to be covered.

I find it hilarious how many Ideas sets have been made the past couple weeks that are literally just Medieval Blacksmith ripoffs with a few different colors and shapes. Gotta be a little more creative than that.

I know we’re likely never to know company politics or what really went down, but all I have to say is that I hope Marcos leaving that Creative Lead role for the HP line doesn’t symbolize what I believe could be a negative turning point for the theme. Based on the past few years you would think LEGO had nailed it when it comes to understanding the HP fan base. I really don’t know what the reason was for a drastic change, except for it being the 20th Anniversary, an anniversary that many people don’t get in the first place. I guess we’ll have a better idea of the LEGO team’s vision for the future when we see what they do for the 2022 wave.

I’ve never understood this logic. Why not wish it’s the best set it can be and then use your adult senses to keep yourself from buying it if you can’t afford it. (Assuming you’re an adult lol) Otherwise we should just wish every LEGO set ever is terrible so we never have to buy anything anymore I’m sure these comments are half-joking but still a pet peeve of mine lol

So for once LEGO actual keeps something a secret, at least for a bit longer! This must mean that it’s a fairly big deal. Personally, I think the only two ideas that could require a big secret are a massive Gringotts play set or an expansion to the micro scale Hogwarts. I would be very excited for both
