Man I feel I am going crazy here, because though it is a pretty nice set, for some reason it just doesn't capture me completely. Like it feels more like a MOC than an official lego set. And the price especially is rubbing me the wrong way, it doesn't seem like a $500 set. Should be $400 MAX. Considering how big it is, I could only justify buying it if I really wanted to display it. However, it just doesn't have the display factor of, say, Hogwarts 2018 or the Ninjago City sets, in my opinion. Would have really loved a display of all of Rivendell, but i also realize I am in the minority with not caring about minifigures that much. I just want a cool model to display. Also, unrelated, but imagine how amazing the box art would have been a few years ago. I think the black boxes is one of the worst decisions they've made recently. Just so ugly

I know it's slightly off topic, but wow Hogwarts Legacy is being received so well! So excited to play tomorrow, and I'm excited to see how this causes another resurge in Harry Potter as a franchise :) It's also really cool to see a take on the world that isn't held down to the aesthetics of the movies only.

No, I cannot. I don't have the time to not only MOC that up with professional quality but also get all the pieces at insane prices and have a less enjoyable experience. I buy lego for the experience of building a well made product and the care that LEGO puts into it. To think a casual could just MOC something like this up is quite a leap lol and also something I cannot afford in time I'm happy that people are happy with it, I just find the obsession of these big sets being minifigure scale is a bit overstated, especially as bigger adult focused sets are made with displaying in mind as a majority. This feels like half a set more than a full one. But I guess we shall wait until the final build gets revealed and see how it eventually sells.

Yea exactly, I REALLY wish they went microscale here so we could at least have the whole city. This looks like an oversized play set

Rivendell looks awfully small to me for $500, am I crazy? This just looks like a small scene instead of a towering display piece like Hogwarts. Don’t think I would even consider buying this if this is what the final version looks like.

I want to express my disappoint on the Rivendell being a small minifigure set for $500 instead of a nice display piece like Hogwarts was

Just got my windmill in the US! One corner is a little bent but honestly doesn't matter too much. Just glad I got it tbh

Got a shipping notice for the Windmill in the US today. Bad news is I am at a low point financially, and -$200 is really not what I needed right now. Why does God play such a cruel joke on me :(

My windmill is now set for September 26th, they just keep pushing the date back. If I don't get this set eventually I am going to be pissed.

The more I see it the more I like it! Except the rock formation, I think the BURPs stick out too much and it looks kind of all over the place. That is easily modifiable though. Do you think there's any way to make the top light of the lighthouse warmer? I'm assuming those garage panels don't come in trans orange like that light in the house.

I don’t know if this has been discussed already, but I would bet the Hogwarts Express D2C is the same type of display as the miniature version of the build in the upcoming Advent Calendar. It lines up with what the leaks are saying it is.

I really like it! Though I wish the frame had a more fitting frame, maybe a gold one with more flourish like the one used for the real painting in MoMa. Maybe I can MOC one but I don't know if the pieces exist to do it. The black frame is a bit bland for such a wild Neo Impressionist painting. The actual painting is great though!

Let’s be honest, we all know the rumor is correct. It makes too much sense with how LEGO operates recently. It’s like how they prioritize the Star Wars Original Trilogy so much - with HP they will always focus on the same main topics year after year because they sell.

It looks like the HP tax is coming in in full force. These sets seem kinda...small and simple for the prices, yea? Maybe I'm just too old and particular for play sets, but I need some high quality D2C builds to satisfy me at this point. I think the MoM looks great, just wish it was like double the size! Horntail looks good too. I'm just not a fan of the new Hogwarts sets. The exteriors are so disjointed, and even though they focus on interiors, even they are pretty barren. This wave gets me excited for what the D2C could be though! Really hoping it's a building.

Really? The video already has 2+ million views and was top 5 in trending in YouTube. And the reveal trailer is the most watched game trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel. The game is going to be huge. And it looks great! Love seeing a different take on Hogwarts

Haven’t been here in awhile, have lost a bit of LEGO interest since I used all my room on the Ninjago City sets (which I might sell) and got busy with work. That being said, I’ve been keeping an eye out for HP summer wave leaks. Hope you all get what you want!
