  1. Picked up 75050 B-wing (minus Nien Numb and General Craiken, although I'm not too fussed about their absence) for the not unreasonable price of 40EUR from Tori.Had to supplement one or two missing pieces from my collection, but it now means the only alphabet fighter I'm missing is the elusive U-wing. Still waiting on a good deal for that... EDIT: I just noticed the spring-loaded shooter missiles are missing. I am, as you can probably imagine, utterly distraught. /s
  2. Apparently we will see a single new Star Wars set at LEGO con (I maintain that's a really unfortunate choice of name), so I guess we're all expecting the gunship? Any chance it could be the mysterious 75369?
  3. Anyone know where, if anywhere, the Ford set is exclusive to in the EU? It was the only new one I didn't see at Prisma so can only assume it's exclusive over here as well. It being exclusive to Selfridge's is bizarre though - I can't imagine there's a massive crossover in clientèle there... Picked up the Elva and it's a delight, the back end is a lot of fun to build. New tyres look great, and I'm glad they seem to be paying more attention to the interiors this year.
  4. That would be yours truly! It has occurred to me that some of the advent calendar shuttles and Slave Is in particular would be the perfect size.
  5. Hey, I like Toyota Corollas! Just as long as it's the rally version. This is partly why I'm waiting for interior shots to pass judgment. I reckon you could still fit a reasonable amount in there - lift the middle section off, open up the two side compartments outwards similar to the Star Destroyer, maybe lift the bridge off as well. I'm erring on the optimistic side. I can see why they released ToT in the winter wave with all of this coming. With Mando in so many sets now they barely would have sold any!
  6. In terms of quality/execution of set: 1. Slave I 2. Light Cruiser 3. Gauntlet 4. Trexler Marauder 5. Mandalore throne But I'm probably only going to buy 2 and 4, as I don't much interest in either of the remaining three (beyond maybe the figs in the Gauntlet). On that note - it's a shame LEGO heads are so damn big, as having Bo's face print on the regular Mando helmet makes it look... I don't want to say fat, but you get the idea. Not sure a new mould would have really helped that though.
  7. I'm aware this is not a rare opinion, and you are of course entitled to it. For my part the issue is that a lot of the time, people connect the issue to one person based largely on rumours from often dubious sources, and subsequently demonise that person (while simultaneously ignoring the hundreds of others that are involved) based on an entirely subjective viewpoint. Usually it boils down to one or both of Disney = bad or KK = bad, without both of whom we never would have got all the new Star Wars content that you do like, whether that be the Mandalorian, the sequels, Rogue One, the Bad Batch, whatever. Anyway, if we want to continue the debate let's do it somewhere else or in DMs. I won't say any more on it here.
  8. This is, uh... A take. Personally I'd be all for brick built blurrgs, although I don't know if it would be made of so many pieces that a new mould would be no more expensive. I guess the Tauntaun gets its own mold, and a blurrg would presumably be about the same size. I think it would work great in one of the microfighter double packs, though. Getting a closer look at the Trexler Marauder, I'm not sold on the combination of dark and light bley. I think it would have looked better were it all one shade of one or the other. It's probably the set I'll pick up first though, in all honesty.
  9. I'm hoping there's a microscale shuttle or Slave I to go with them, I can't see any on the pictures. I presume it'll have a microscale hangar, a bridge, maybe the brig where Mando fights Gideon and possibly the dark trooper storage room? Can't wait to see pics of the interior.
  10. Figured it was only a matter of time before we got these after the Boba torso. Seems like a solid enough wave - Marauder looks good, as does the cruiser. Something about the Gauntlet looks a bit off to me though. The real highlight, though... The figures are all amazing. Bit of a shame the Slave I only comes with Mando, but two more versions of him with arm printing is not a bad thing at all. Fennec Shand looks great, so does Moff Gideon, Gar Saxon looks phenomenal and I can see his helmet working well for the armourer. And Cara Dune is included in the cruiser, which will hopefully put a lid on the storm in that particular teacup. EDIT having said that, the darksabre does indeed seem to be a regular black 4L bar on a lightsabre hilt. That's disappointing but not a deal breaker.
  11. I seem to remember when this was first leaked that Han Solo was rumoured to be in the Slave I... If this is Mando or BoBF then surely that must be wrong. LEGO are really going all out with the arm printing though. First Vader, then Din and now this, which looks pretty incredible in all honesty.
  12. Vader's Castle is definitely the exception rather than the rule here. I think the RC is due to be retired by the end of the year, but that'll mean it's had an 18 month shelf life which is pretty ordinary for LEGO sets (especially considering that it, ah, doesn't have a starring role in the show any more...). I have seen the IT-S on a lot of shelves compared to the other 2020 sets, although I know that doesn't prove it hasn't sold well. It's a shame as I think it looks like a great set - I haven't been able to fit it into my budget yet, but if I see it on discount I may well pick it up.
  13. Oh yeah... Whoops. Well Rebels did re-use a lot of imperial officer character models, maybe its more common in the empire than we think!
  14. I thought this was Piett? Looking at it I think they could've reduced the piece count quite significantly with a less elaborate base. If they'd done away with the square base and just had the round pedestal of the chamber I reckon they could easily shave $10 off the price.
  15. Meditation chamber looks very nice. Vader does have arm printing again according to Landino, which makes sense given it's in the same vein as the Bespin set from last year. 70 bucks seems steep though.
  16. Yeah, based on the interview I don't think there's anything more nefarious at work than 'contract says no'. I think 2022 is one of those that gets thrown around - I feel like 2021 got thrown around a lot about a year ago for the same argument.
  17. +1. Glad that battle packs don't seem to be dead, although it does make me wonder why they've taken a break. It's interesting to hear the reasoning on the CMF thing as well, I didn't know that they had to have a certain number of bricks to be considered a toy. The duel on Mandalore set is also confirmed to have the throne, smashable bay window and Maul's prison thingy. Not a surprise but nice to see confirmation.
  18. I think the question isn't 'would it be profitable' - it almost certainly would. The question is 'would it be significantly more profitable than the current status quo', and the answer to that is probably no. A CMF means more new moulds, more time out of the production line and, consequently, fewer actual Star Wars sets - if a CMF does happen, I would expect the number of sets to reduce, as LSW does not have an infinite budget. There's no reason for LEGO to go through all that effort, time and money changing things up for the sake of a miniscule margin increase. The other thing is how it's executed. Just from the suggestions on EB, would it be for background characters or main ones? Variants or the iconic looks? Army-building or more diverse species? Prequels, OT, sequels, animated shows, D+, a combination of the above? Trying to sift all that down to 12 minifigures is a nightmare. The very fact that we're arguing about it here (and keep doing so every time the sliver of a rumour is mentioned) goes to show it's not quite a license to print money. I don't expect they'll change it in all honesty. At minifigure hand scale the lightsabres are colossal anyway, so I don't think it's a significant enough difference to warrant a change (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). It would be nice if they did for accuracy's sake but I'm not holding my breath.
  19. I don't think we'll see a new mold either. That said I think while a black katana would work OK, it would need something to differentiate it from just being a sword... Either a fancy colourway for the whole thing or the hilt made a different colour, maybe by making a silver one and dipping or printing the blade black. My knowledge of LEGO's production process isn't sufficient to know how feasible this is though.
  20. I reckon Ahsoka will be the same figure from the AAT. (IMO that's not a garbage figure per se, but it isn't the most accurate.) Maul looks good though. Since I already have an Ahsoka I wasn't going to get this set, and the figure doesn't change my mind, but it does look good.
  21. It might be that in this case, the vehicle was explicitly called a Trexler Marauder in its one appearance in the show by the blue guy, as opposed to just a troop transport, which is unusual (I don't think the movies or shows ever refer to, say, a speeder bike as a 74-Z or an X-wing as a T-65).
  22. Great reviews. The construction on the front end of the Jesko and all over the Elva look fantastic. Who would've thought SC would be the place to get weapons in interesting colours! I like that GR minifigure as well, even if the car is nothing to write home about.
  23. This is turning into a great year for figures. Greef looks great, I think the mortar trooper looks pretty grand as well, although having them stood next to Greef does really emphasise just how big their heads are. *scout trooper has entered the chat* LEGO have really upped their game with troops recently. With this, the Bad Batch and the aforementioned new scout trooper looking as good as they do, I have high hopes for the dark troopers.
  24. The figures are pretty incredible. Shuttle looks much better from the angles shown - I love the old-school promo shots TLG released with real scenery, they should definitely do that more often. And it can fit four figs! OK, that's not all of them, but at least the gonk can ride the speeder. Great set all round. Wasn't sure about it after the leaks but I'm sold on it now.
  25. Falconfan posted the ad in his story and it does specify LEGO Star Wars with a Bad Batch logo. Maybe someone at LEGO has their time zones mixed up?
