[REVIEW] 42039 - 24 Hours Race Car
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's true, but I could have used the time to do other things. Anyway; I will probably never disassemble it again. Would be great to have some additional parts in bright green. Though noogies, would have been a great deal. -
[REVIEW] 42039 - 24 Hours Race Car
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A bit late with my reply, but no thanks! Today I rebuilt my 42039, because I am needing it for a comparison with the Porsche. I was stupid enough to disassemble it not long ago Rebuilding made me realize how fantastic this set is. The build is enjoyable, the color scheme is unprecedented and the end result is stunning (I know opinions differ, but I love its looks). Add some playability and countless great C-models, I can only conclude that this is absolutely one of my all time favorite models. -

Thanks for reminding me how old I am I would like to see someone do this in the Porsche and drive backwards with 350 km/h. I am not sure how this would kick the fans?! You get to see some video footage before the 1st of June. Isn't that a positive thing? -

AutoBild most likely struck a deal with TLG and Porsche. There's no real surprise for me. That Meiko already posted an image does surprise me. When the Volvo came out, I could post my review two weeks early, so these exclusive deals tend to happen. -

I saw your picture on Facebook. How comes that you are allowed to publish pictures before the 1st of June? And how did you get it? I was looking for someone with a real GT3 RS, so I could take some pictures with it. I have not succeeded and since time is running out, I will most likely fail in my endeavour. Looking forward to your comparison. By the looks of your avatar, you seem to have something with sportscars -
I've added the designer video:

New video from AutoBild. -
Hey, Glad you sorted it out. We don't delete or archive topics. Next time when you ask for help, please try to supply an image. That will be helpful for other members to assist you with your problem. And please try to watch your punctuation, begin senctence with a capital and end the sentence with a period (.). Thanks!

For this forum you indeed need 100 posts to make a new topic. So technically you bypassed the rules I don't think there's a magical place with cheap shock absorbers, so you will need to fork out some cash.

I think such a timetable can be very useful. If you could make a time table, great!

This is a pretty interesting concept. I will make sure to check it out at Legoworld!

[MOC] ICARUS Supercar
Jim replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Going through this topic, it seems that I haven't frontpaged this fantastic creation. I have corrected my mistake- 220 replies

Who needs a 911 when you can design and build your own Supercar?! This fantastic Supercar by Madoca combines a great design with great performance (powered by SBrick). It has already been posted in March, but for those of you who haven't seen it, please take a look in the Technic Forum.

Hi, There are shocks available for $10 each (ex shipping), but you have probably found those. I don't think this forum is the right place to ask for bargains (buying/selling). You have gone through all the sources (BrickOwl, eBay, BrickLink, etc) so you probably need to accept the fact that this is the price you've got to pay. Or get yourself a decent second hand Crawler or Unimog, which will cost more, but gives you more in return. I will move this topic to the buying and selling forum.

Feel free to ask, no promises. Interesting question. Why is this set 16+ and the Merc isn't? More people are interested in this Unless there's a big surprise, I wonder why there isn't any rear wheel steering. That does seem like a very characteristic/significant property for this car. -

Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, most of the time I'm not overly critical, since at the end of the day, LEGO is still a toy. Creating a MOC is different than releasing a set. But being a bit more critical with this set wouldn't hurt, since it's considered "the Ultimate". I seriously don't have the set yet by the way. Hopefully before next weekend, otherwise time will be very short. Or maybe something went wrong and I don't get the set at all. That would make my frontpage ad even more questionable -

Hi Dino, Thanks for the compliment. As for the announcement; I understand your sentiment, but let's agree to disagree (we can discuss this elsewhere if you like) Normally I let other staffers post stuff like this (to avoid looking overly narcissistic), but I figured I could get away with this -
