  1. Agreed! I will come home with loads of Technic wheels I will probably end up never using
  2. You are absolutely right about the name and definition etc, but we still like to keep the current name "Studded & Plated Model Team in Scale Representing a Real World Counterpart but it can't be Technic" just isn't catchy enough You can be funny in the Technic forum
  3. UPDATE ON THE GUIDELINES We (staff) have discussed it and we have come to the conclusion that pure Technic (not counting a few plates here and there) belongs in the Technic Forum. The SMF is for advanced Model Team like models, built in scale, representing a real world counterpart. I know this may sound a bit harsh, but if we allow pure Technic models in here, we will open up a big can of worms. Furthermore; we have the Technic Forum for Technic models. This forum is meant for models, which would end up in no man's land. Please don't think that your models are less cool and therefor don't belong here. We simply need to keep some of the awesome MOCs in Technic I will move the Technic models back to Technic.
  4. Thanks! There's an engine for a supercar I understand what you mean, but we had to start with something. I also understand that using existing models tends to look like some sort of favoritism. But the fact of the matter is that there are lots of thing missing in the banner. Can't please everyone. But if you can provide a decent picture of a scale model supercar, preferably Orange, I would be happy to look into it. One other important thing; We need to be careful with adding pure Technic MOCs to this forum. While some can be considered Scale Models, I don't want to flood this forum with pure Technic Models. This goes for brunojj1's supercars, but even more for Thirdwigg's Unimog (sorry mate). So, we will discussing things with staff members and tell you what the outcome is.
  5. Although I like the idea, I think we should keep all scale modeling topics in this forum. We will be strict, so it will not contain lots of useless topics.
  6. I think we have finally found a place for @Norton74's MOCs as well
  7. Please use the Index if you can't find it. It's in the list of notable topics.
  8. With great pride we announce the opening of a dedicated Scale Modelers forum. This forum will contain great scale models from the best builders in the world. And when I say best, I really mean THE best! Special thanks to @2LegoOrNot2Lego... and the other members of the Scale Modelers Association who are joining forces with Eurobricks to bring you the pinnacle of LEGO modeling. You can find the forum in the Technic Forum as a subforum. So, what exactly is a scale model? A scale model is an accurate replica of a real world vehicle, building or object. Still not sure what that means?! I will let this picture do the talking. Take a look at this 1:16 Scaled Union Pacific EMD SD70 Ace Locomotive. And yes...this is actually LEGO!
  9. Hi Igor, Can you try to avoid linking to Bricksafe and embedding some images instead? That would be great, thanks!
  10. WIP topics are fine. Video is not mandatory. Think of this forum as just a regular forum.
  11. Yes, yes, yes! This so belongs here. What an incredible MOC!
  12. Yes we are. But we can't find them by ourselves. So it would be great if you guys can post your MOCs in the MOCs to Move topic I've just created. We tried adding the scale tag to forum topics, but they are still hard to find and it's hard to tell which ones we already covered.
  13. Please don't bump old topics, just to say they are cool or look good.
  14. Please don't use links like this. Make sure to use a link to an image extension, so the image will be embedded. Thanks.
  15. Hi, Please don't make a new topic for every single question. There are general discussion topics where you can post questions like this. There's one suggested in the previous post. Please use that for suggestions on what to buy. I will lock this topic.
  16. Here's a topic for asking questions about building scale models.
  17. To make things easier, I have created a topic where you can post links to the topics which need to be moved: That great to hear Dennis. I would love to have you as an active member here! And I totally agree with your assessment of upgraded Beetles and Minis I have created a topic for questions like this:
  18. Absolutely incredible! And awesome pictures. Great model to kick off this forum
  19. There are no limits regarding the type of MOC or functionality. What do mean by "does it need to be modeled"?
  20. These are indeed two important criteria, if not the most important ones
  21. A scale model is a MOC built in a certain scale. Of course, it can never be 100% in scale, but the builder should be able to show which efforts have been made to build it in a certain scale. I am afraid that there are no hard rules and it's not black and white, so we will need to come up with guidelines for this forum. Can you post a link to your MOC?
  22. That is an interesting question. Since I am not a Scale Builder, I can't answer your question properly. So let's wait for someone with experience in building a suspension in scale. Maybe I will split these kind of questions into different help/guide topics.
