Ittwo new sets in 2025? I would guess it’s a skyline set and one expnsive regular set, who knows…
-
Wicked, Fornite and Wednesday are the new licensed themes. I don’t think plants and animals are counte as lincsned? I feel that they are leaned toward unlicensed since they have creativity freedom to me. Like - who owns plants and aniamls? Not like a specific tiger from Aladin or a human-eating plant from Little Horror Shop production. So I am with jcm. Oh and a few year ago, Pickup Truck was only unlicensed Icon vehicle set.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Lion King replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You know, police will not come in CMF with gun at all. But it would be cool to see something different about police like Accio Lego said. I think crime scene tech sounds cool. It might be unlikely but i think it would be cute to see a kid dressed up in police clothe for Halloween. Of course, it’s easy to build a minifigure from existing pieces. This. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Lion King replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I kinda like your idea on city-themed series. i would love to add some minifigures to my Modular Building Collection or City sets. And face prints are very unique in CMF than City sets - i thik some face prints hav been reused a few times. Of course there are some new fact prints in some City sets. But…i think City has covered so many workers? Like lifeguard, police, firefighter, baker, tow truck drier, etc. -
As a fan of Persona video game, it would be awesome if Lego do that. However, Persona is not freindly for kids…. Just teenagers or adults. So it’s no no for Lego to do Persona theme. I always want to see theme or CMF. Based off Studio Gihbil!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Like a Pirate fan is not into a space-themed series. -
You are right about CS stuff not needing modern faces. I feel classic smiley face is more iconic for space themes. Agreed with you two it looks like someone wore that cap several times before donating it to Lego, where they stitched Space logo on it!

I have a question for you folks - IF anyone has a Retro Space Logo Cap from Insiders’ Reward section…. Is that cap supposed to be for kids or adults? The picture is little hard for me to tell its size.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Lion King replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I never played Legend of Zelda games before but this set looks amazing. I’m a fan of Japanese stuff, including Nintendo, so I might buy that one. I agree that it looks like it’s $200 to me. I don’t know if the price has to do with a high licensing tax or amount of pieces. -
Music during building, yay or nay?
Lion King replied to Space Coyote's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So…I’m a deaf AFOL and I only listen to music I don’t understand lyrics (in other words, I rally don’t unerstand the human’s complicated speech…I just enjoy the sound). I have beeen listening to jazz and Japanese music during building lego (don’t ask a dumb quesiton like “can you understaand Jpanese if you are deaf?”) -
Yup i totally agree with you, jcm.

Same for Art? Like Mona Lisa and the Great Wave?

I don’t hae info, honestly. As you said, this is my wild guess. I mean Lego is competely unpredcitable but I just feel that a 50:50 ratio is not really permanent. Lego often changes their plans over time. I’m just saying the numbers of unlicensed and licensed sets vary annually. But yes, I agree with you on cancelling a theme, licensed or unlicensed.
-
I am pretty sure a 50:50 ratio is not permanent for Lego after 2024.

Oops, thank you for correcting!

I agree with first leaf of this. I respcefuly disagree with classic smiley face. I understand that Classic Space theme must have classic face for old time’s sake. But…Since 2018, Modular Buidling Collection no longer feature that classic face, in the result, it brings more personalities to modular citizens. I was a kid in 2000s and there were no classic faces at that time. I love modern faces - so many facial expersision, so many colorful lipsticks, so many facial hair, so many personalities. I love it. Plus, I don’t know if classic face will appeal to the young kids in 2020s when we have Space City subtheme? I guess it’s only for Space AFOLs.

While people wanting to buy licensed IP merch becuase of their favorite movie/music artist/video game, just like crazy fans in Disney’s Hercules? Cool I’m not one of them, really. I just like both non-licensed and licensed themes. I only like Juraisssc World and Harry Potter. I used to like Marvel theme but I only like Captian America character. I like non-licensed themes. But i limit myself from buying sets from both sides. and don’t forget that Jurasic World theme “borrowed” dinosaur molds from the discount used in-house theme, Dino Attack. I’m sad that Dino Attack was discontinued but I’m happ that Lego still produces more dinosaur molds in Jurassic World.

Do we know when this set will be retired? I haven’t bought this yet. -
That’s fair about BDP.
