  1. I was thinking the exact same thing. The way it is designed is identical to the other 2021 sets. Don't honestly know how there is any confusion.
  2. While I agree that combination of the two great hall sets into one looks amazing!!! There is one problem. Without significant MOCing and the associated parts. It wont connect too well with the previous 2018-2020 sets. Not sure if anyone has had any genius revelations, but don't think it would go together too well. Otherwise I would have bought the instructions in a heartbeat.
  3. I know some people like this set But everytime i see it it feel like its just a real bad dream i need to wake up from. It just doesnt feel real for some reason! If it wasnt for the damn gold figures i started collecting, i would have just pretended it didnt exist.
  4. I'm just surprised how easily people seemed to be swayed by this set. Everyone hated the idea and now everyone loves it. Personally It's exactly the sort of thing I was easily going to pass on and find it even easier still. Only thing that really annoys me about it, is that I was expecting one golden figure (which i've been collecting so far), not 3! Now I just have to try and figure out how to either convince myself that my golden figure collection is complete without these 3 or whether i'm actually comfortable paying the extortionate prices these will likely go for. Absolutely hate LEGO for doing this. It's made anyone's golden figure collection 66% complete in one foul swoop! Happy some people like this thing, but I personally rank this thing well below the chess set which is pretty sad (and yes, my personal opinion).
  5. That's a good question... I have wracked my brains and honestly for myself, I can't think of any object that could possibly be exciting enough to make me buy the set. I'm open to being surprised, but personally I don't think i've bought anything that isn't minifigure scale.
  6. Thanks! Feels like forever away with this Daily Bugle sitting on my bedroom floor staring at me. Have a newborn, so the place is a mess and finding a place for that set is the last thing on our mind. :-D May have been a discussion in the past. Sorry if it was, but what's everyone planning on buying from the September wave? I'm thinking Fossil Exhibition and Carno Chase. They're all pretty mediocre, but I do like the ute (truck) from Camp Cretaceous in the Carno set and it at least has two of the campers and the fossil set is cheap, nice and has another camper. Would mean I only need to bricklink another 3 figures for hopefully less than $30, rather than spending another $140 on sets that do nothing for me. Those boat pieces are pretty big to store too. So that's my thoughts. What are the rest of you thinking? Getting any at all?
  7. Awesome, thanks! :-D Got my Daily Bugle for Fathers Day in September, and my wife wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday at the end of the month. So works out perfect! :-D
  8. Hey all, Just being lazy, and hoping someone might know off the top of their head what the release date of the camp cretaceous sets were?
  9. My in-laws are in Queensland at the moment and went to the LEGO Store in Robina and they knew nothing about it other than it said coming soon and they have no idea when. Don't understand why there is always so much difficulty with these small sets unlike all the others.
  10. Is it just Australia that hasn't released the 40500 Accessory Pack yet or is this problem plaguing other areas of the globe? Nearly 2 months after the release date and they still have no clue when it's going to show up. Hope this isn't like the LEGO Sparkle Babies set from LEGO movie 2 that my wife really wanted. It said coming soon for a year and then never ever showed up!
  11. Would be interesting if that happened. Because if im not mistaken there hasnt been any licenced CMF make it to the 3rd round. Id love it if they were the two though! How cool would a Darking Duck be? Random question... This is the first LEGO release that ive got basically every set (excluding Hogwarts Castle). I absolutely love the minifigs, and keep wanting more, but have moments where i feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of figures now. Especially of the trio. Does anyone else feel like this at times? And what do you do with your figures? Mine are all in a box. I wanted to display them all around Hogwarts, but now there are so many it feels like too much work and i keep procrastinating! Lol.
  12. Another quick question for any Aussies. For anyone who lives near a LEGO store, have the Harry Potter Accessory Packs been released at all here? I know it says coming soon online, but wondering if physical stores got them or not. Kept waiting for online store to get Sparkle Babies from LEGO Movie 2 and it never happened. Hope the same thing doesn't happen with these.
  13. Thanks for your thoughts. I've removed the masonry bricks so far, and will look into some of the other suggestions. I agree the rock side doesn't look great. That's the hardest part for me trying to figure out how to make it all look natural and irregular. The dark green was meant to be like there was some kind of leak with a more major moss growth, but I guess it doesn't work. The vines at the top are supposed to be devils snare and fluffy's trap door will be sitting right above it. I know it's slightly out of order, but it was the best way for it to work. I also realise the Chess Chamber isn't perfect, but I'm kinda being lazy on that one and was just making it something like the original set from 2002 or whenever it was. I know what you mean about the winged keys, and i've looked at some other MOC's, but haven't seen a method I particularly like anywhere. The biggest problem is that there are no clips in Trans-clear which makes it difficult. The plan is to try and match the bars and clips with the backgrounds, but I thought that might be easier to figure out in real life. I'll definitely keep playing with it. Like I said, Moc's aren't really my strong suit, but hopefully I come up with something that looks decent in the end. And I really appreciate all your thoughts. So Thank you! Forgot to say, I agree with you. I'm not a huge fan of the new sets either. But i'm even less of a fan of it feeling incomplete! Hoping I can rectify it, even though they'll probably release more of these next year i'm sure.
  14. This is the hair piece I reckon LEGO should have used for Brooklyn. Glad I still have it from an old Bootleg figure I own. Gonna have to do until LEGO does it themselves. Hair by Chris McKinley, on Flickr
  15. Hey everyone. I've spent last night and a good portion of today designing a MOC of the Chamber of Winged keys and Mirror of Erised to complete my 2021 Hogwarts castle. I've posted pictures in the "Harry Potter custom builds and moc's" forum and would greatly appreciate any feedback, tips or advice that might help improve it. I know many of you have great attention to detail and probably more building skills than I, so would love any help you can provide. Constructive criticism would be great. But please be nice. My first attempt at a MOC from scratch ever. I'm more of an Emmet. I follow the instructions!
  16. I have attempted to complete the challenges from the end of the 1st Movie in the scale of the new Hogwarts. Fulffy's coridor would sit over the left hand side with the Harp to the right of it. The Mirror of Erised section would stick out the side from the rest and I would need to design some roof for the top of it. This is the first time i've ever tried to design something LEGO from scratch, so please be nice. But I would also love it if anyone has any tips for improvements. I'm looking to buy the parts to put this together mid July when double points is on. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also to note, the left hand section with the chess queen is the lower part from the Fluffy set slight modified. 17. How do you guys find all these awesome parts? Do you just look through the parts of all the new sets one at a time or is there an easier way?
  18. Does anyone in Australia buy the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes magazine? I really want to get the next issue which has the War Machine figure for my Avengers Tower, but my local news agents only seem to have the DC one from about January. I believe they are kind of alternating between DC and Marvel, but is being 5-6 months behind the same everywhere in Australia? The Ninjago Magazines only seem to be 2 months behind the UK.
  19. Thanks for your replies. I shall try just waiting. Just going to have to time it right. Been a few things I sat on a bit too long and then the skyrocketed behind my back. Not a LEGO things, but still dying inside from when I didn't want to pay $40 for a Star Wars Graphic Novella that is now at minimum $300 as I was waiting for it to go down. Also been wondering, is there anyone who actually likes the Chess set as a whole I cannot get over how basic and boring the board is. The builds are pretty average looking and from some reviews i've read the board is a bit small and cumbersome for playing chess. Genuinely curious if there's actually anyone who really likes it?
  20. So has anyone managed a full collection of Wizard Cards yet? Pretty expensive on Bricklink so far! Wish there was a more effective way of finding people to trade with. Also... Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this... But I really want to get the minifigures from the Chess set, but absolutely hate the set itself. So far the minifigures alone look to be round half the cost of the set on Bricklink. Do you think getting the whole set is worth it for investment purposes or anything? Or would you advise just sucking it up and getting the figures?
  21. Just built all our sets tonight. Got all the castle sets, plus a second bathroom. Managed to get 12 out of 16 tiles from 18 total. So that wasn't too bad. I don't mind the final result of the castle, but I honestly found the build an absolute bore building in segments. Really ruined the excitement of building something large that you get from building a whole set in one. Just throwing it out there, if anyone in Australia has Olympe Maxime, Nicholas Flamel or Bertie Bott spare, i'd be happy to trade by post. I have 1 spare silver Dumbledore, 1 spare gold Dumbledore, McGonagall, Lockhart and Ollivander.
  22. Just had to look it up to find out where they all were. I only had memory of them being in the films/series like 3 times!
  23. I don't know all the Eurobricks rules, but maybe it would be less confusing if a trading forum could be started?
  24. For anyone in Australia, shopforme.com.au has most of the sets (did not have the flying lesson one) for 20% off with free shipping (for over $200) to some states and $10 shipping to others that aren't eligible. Prices still work out cheaper than Kmart. Just thought i'd share if its useful to anyone.
  25. I'm in TAS. We don't normally get them for another 5-7 days after they are listed. Guessing you are in Victoria given the whole 5km thing! No fun! I was actually surprised how low some of the discounts are. Generally see about 15% discount on price at Kmart compared to LEGO. Better than nothing though I guess. Will hopefully be able to get the minifigure pack when I buy the Daily Bugle. So no other incentive to buy from LEGO at this stage. GWPs at the minute are rubbish.
