My apologies. I was just excited to jump into the discussion as it coincided with my reading the book at that moment. I apologise if I spoilt anything. Although I was pretty sure that mentioning a characters name and that they have family (as all people do) does not particularly spoil anything. You are still more than welcome to judge the quality of the story for yourself. I'm not really sure how saying that I liked it would take away that option from you. But it actually was quite enjoyable as a book and i'm very glad it was released in this format as not everyone has the geographical ability or financial means to experience it as it should be. As I said, I am sorry if I negatively affected you in anyways, but I do feel that your response didn't warrant such negativity. We are all here to have fun. Unfortunately responses like this completely ruin the fun and can cause serious harm to people who struggle with anxiety and depression problems, so could you please try to be a bit a little more relaxed in some of your responses to keep this a safe place? Thanks. Apologies to everyone, I know this is off topic. Just don't really understand why it so often it seems people have such a hard time being able to talk to each other nicely. Promise I wont say anything further on this.

You referring to Delphi's family? I knew all about that. Like i said, i have read a lot about it and why people hate it. So I was pretty well prepared. All in all i would be quite happy to see it as a film... ... but i 100% agree that different actors would make it a tough pill to swallow and given the trios feelings towards the franchise, i dont really see that happening. Sorry for getting a bit off topic LEGO wise, but I do think it would be fun to have Cursed Child sets even if it just meant having Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermiones families in minifig form. Ohh... just thought... the fight between Harry and Draco could be a cool set. Something like the burrow (but obviously their house) with little exploding features a furniture to flick around and hang from the roof! Lol. There is potential in everything.

It's funny that this is the discussion happening right now as I just finished the Harry Potter books for the first time yesterday and 3/4 of the way through Cursed Child now. But I've got to admit, i'm really enjoying it. I could see it being a great movie if some of the alternate reality scenes were fleshed out a bit more and it could definitely use a bit more action in the first 3/4. But I really don't see why everybody hates it so much? Maybe it's because i've read everyone's hate before I read it that I was just prepared in advance. But personally i'm thoroughly enjoying it. I do agree there hasn't been anything particularly outstanding in the way of potential LEGO sets ,but to be honest a lot of the sets we are hoping to be based on deathly hallows are all locations that have been seen in previous movies just with the relevant characters there at the time to reflect that movie. But one example I could imagine as a set is when they are trying to get the time turner in Hermione's office. Maybe a little desk build with an easter egg or two and then a build with a bookcase with different little trap play features and a slot to hide the kids as they are taken into the bookcase. Wouldn't be bad. And yes, I know my opinion is very unpopular, so you don't need to remind me of that. Just sharing a slightly different perspective.

2 Buildings. Honeydukes and The Three Broomsticks I believe. You will either have a very repetitive Hogsmeade buying multiples of this set. May be good for parts for MOCs of other buildings, but yeah, multiple of the set isn't going to do much out of the box. I'll DM you the pic if you like.

PLEASE NO!!! Can someone please let me know when this is over again?

Just went and took a quick photo of the pages. Not the best, but you get the idea! https://ibb.co/yyWCPP9 https://ibb.co/zHLNMbh First is visual dictionary, second is character encyclopedia.

You could post absolutely anything at this rate and everyone will be analysing it as a cryptic clue! Don't post online if you are going to the beach. Everyone will think that means we are getting the lake task set!

Hope i'm allowed to share this. It's not genuine LEGO, but gives a good idea of what a potential Gringotts could look like! https://downtheblocks.blogspot.com/2021/03/mork-032101-harry-potterwizarding-world.html

Sorry, my comment was more of a combination of what I'm hoping based on their statements. I'm kind of hoping that if they aren't good sets that they are downright terrible (in my eyes), so i'm not tempted to buy mediocre sets. :-) Which I have a habit of doing. Still regretting getting the Hogwarts Moments sets. Only thing I like about the whole lot is McGonagal. But I 100% agree with you. I will make my own opinion when I see them, which I think we all will. But I would also be happy if I got to save money too!

Sorry, didn't mean to pry. Just get excited about places i've visited before! There's over 400km of Water between me and my nearest LEGO store!

Sorry, might have misunderstood what I was saying. I was just saying that it makes me think it has to be something rather "different" like Art, microscale or busts, because I can't imagine them making sets that are really bad. So for it to be unexpected expectations, i'm imagining sort of "different" sets they could be rather than bad sets. Not sure I made that much clearer! That's another factor when buying from LEGO. My shop needs to be over $150 or I have to add shipping to it. Where abouts are you in the UK? Small country town or something? I lived near Birmingham for a year and I still remember the most amazing Toy store in the city. Pretty sure there was a LEGO store too, but I wasn't into LEGO at that stage.

Quite often Kmart here has their basic price set 15-20% below LEGO's cost. I got the Burrow for I think it was $120AUD, but on LEGO it was $150. So $30 difference. I think even on double points you'd be lucky to accrue enough for about a $15 voucher.
-
I only buy from LEGO Online if the set is exclusive or if there's a GWP I really want. Can't justify the increased price otherwise. I'm just honestly baffled... I mean it's not like the LEGO designers would be specifically designing sets to be rubbish or based on things nobody wants surely? So it makes you think what it could possibly be that could be so unwanted. You'd think it would have to be something like Art, Busts or Microscale or something within that vein. But yeah, don't know. Sorry, not adding much to the conversation here. Just feeling completely baffled.
-
How many points have you accrued? I've got enough for a $150 voucher. That's the most i've ever had before. Hardest thing lately has been trying to juggle Double Points offers, GWP and sets actually being in stock!

I'm really hoping that Guyon and Falonfan are right about August being terrible. Just added up the costs of the June and August waves and it's pretty scary! I hope most of all for Microscale or Busts, as I saw someone else say anything more than that and i'll probably be sucked into buying. Having a new baby in between these two waves too! How easy do you think it would be to convince people to buy the "baby" LEGO for a present? Really glad superhero sets have sucked lately as I used to buy a fair few of them. Also trying to wean myself of Ninjago. So I think just Harry Potter and Jurassic World for me this year. Just out of curiosity, how much space do most people have on this forum for displaying their collections? Full rooms or just scattered spaces?
-
Thanks. That's cool if that's the case. Just had a vague memory and wanted to clarify.
-
I can't remember where I saw it in the last 120 pages. But was it stated that there are going to be 2 D2C's this year? I'm assuming the $250 set is one, but which was the other one? Or please correct me if this was wrong/old information.

I've got to say... I really want the minifigure in your profile picture! It looks great!

Jurassic World 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
chris6507 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I managed to finally find it streaming in the UK back in January. Managed to watch it wit a VPN. But yeah, its been the most difficult LEGO video for me to find ever! Its on DVD in the states, but still no sign of a release date elsewhere! -
I know it's not everything, but JJPotter has done extended editions of the movies 3-7 with all the released deleted scenes reintegrated masterfully back into the movies. Not sure if you've heard of it or not, but if anyone is interested in them, i'm happy to share the Mega links with you by DM. Of course you are supposed to own the movies first if you intend to download them though.

Lets say that they did hypothetically do another quidditch set with 2 Ravenclaw and 2 Hufflepuff team members (and another figure or two) like the first one (75956)... given that the first one had towers for all 4 houses and the rings etc. What do you think they could actually put in a build to make it interesting, but not the same? Sorry @sebastian666 I know you don't want more quidditch pitches, you just got me wondering!

I am definitely someone who gets very nostalgic about things. But to be honest I don't think they know what they are doing with this wave. To me if you are bringing something back. You either need to bring it back the same as it was (maybe with some modern refinements) or it needs to be a modernised version of something from the past. 5-10 years ago they brought out anniversary versions of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures that were out when I was a child. I loved this, it gave me an opportunity to purchase something long gone in my past exactly how I remembered it. I also liked when they did the LEGO Star Wars Anniversary sets I was able to get Anakins Podracer, Tatooine Padme etc all built to 2019 standards. It was a modern version of an old set. But basically this whole make something in a similiary vain, but not the same, just seems a bit pointless. You aren't holding these sets having a flood of memories coming back and your also not getting a piece of something old that fits with your current line up. So basically yes, I would be nostalgic for the old castle. But this isn't the old castle, so i'm not nostalgic for it. I do like the sets. But to me its just something different. Not something that fits or brings back memories. So yeah, don't know what they thought they were going for?

Cool. Was just curious! It kind of looks more like a bird to me. So was a little surprised you like it so much.

You REALLY like it? Or just happy with it?

Don't know about other countries... But Newt's Case is very hard to come by here, seems to have had a very short shelf life. They got snapped up and barely come on sale used or new. I got lucky and got one really cheap on a local buy swap and sell group. But they seem to have really gone up in price. Also I think the Crimes of Grindelwald set was just very, very boring (although the whole movie was, but that's another topic). So general I just don't think those movies got much of a chance. I can't believe they didn't do the whole circus scene as a set from Crimes of Grindelwald if they were going to do only one set. That would have been awesome! Got to admit though... between both movies I can't really think of many scenes/locations that would have made exciting sets. Suppose that's the problem with the stories being based 99% in muggle land.
