  1. Do we know what the global purchase requirements are for the GWP? Wondering what I might have to save to buy online here in Australia.
  2. They need the Young Hermione hair in Dark Orange. That'd probably be perfect.
  3. That's half of what I find so weird is how inconsistent they have been released. There were quite a few sets last year, then the advent calendar, then one set in January and not half the sets have it. Feels like it should be all or none this year. But the other thing that would have been nice for both kids and adults is some sort of knowledge as to how long these are going to keep coming for? Some people might not have spent more on Bricklink getting them if they new they were going to be inundated with more and for those that didn't manage to get them all probably would have felt a little more solace knowing that more were coming. I don't know... they whole way they've been released has just felt a bit off to me.
  4. Hope this works... thumbnail_Resized_20220613_135405 by Chris McKinley, on Flickr It's a little bit cramped because we still haven't moved in properly and my wife's city sets are all jammed in the shelf. Lol.
  5. I hadn't actually notice this until you said that. Thank you very much. You've save me $80 from an already expensive wave. It really doesn't have anything to get you excited about it does it? Worse than even fluffy encounter. Also, not sure if this has been discussed before, but what's the deal with the SAME chocolate frog cards coming back? Did LEGO expect people were going to sit around for the next couple of years waiting to complete their sets? Feels so random being drip fed these same chocolate frog cards. Would assume most people who were looking to complete a set would have chased after it immediately, not sat back with a wish and a prayer that LEGO would release them again a year later. What's your thoughts, was the same cards a welcome return to anyone? Or does it just feel useless? I suppose it could be worse, they could release a Harry/Voldemort duel standing on some grey bricks like the new Kenobi set!
  6. I still maintain for myself that the Hogwarts icons was a completely garbage idea and equally rubbish set. And the stupid has has locked me out of completing my golden figures collection. Well, unless I want to spend $120-$140 on 3 minifigures, but some of us have mouths to feed. Lol. Can't believe they're apparently doing it to Marvel now too. I mean kudos to those who liked it, but not everyone falls for it the minute they see a pretty picture. Lol. There were still a lot of people that thought it was a bad idea and after seeing it weren't going to buy it. Hogwarts express "sounds" better than Hogwarts icons. But most of us already have one that's already minifigure scale. Doubt many people are desperate for a bigger one just yet. Ohhh.... forgot.... Boooo LEGO, I don't like this idea! Also, random other thought.... I've just moved house and during that time purchased the parts to make the Griffindor Dormitory and then got the hospital wing set. Finally had the time to pull out all last years sets and excitedly put them all together so I could combine the new sets with all last years ones. There's definitely some cool details in some of the "scenes", but overall it just feels so ugly both front and back. I could only stand it for about a week and then I shoved it in a wardrobe and two weeks later I finally brought myself to take it apart again. I really hope they stop this whole modular idea soon, it's not doing the theme any favours in my opinion.
  7. I honestly hadn't actually realised that the baby blue was actually a new mould. I kept seeing it in photos and thought it was the normal baby dino mould.
  8. 2010 City Advent Calendar: You need to buy the instructions on Rebrickable and then purchase all the parts yourself I believe.
  9. They're both cheaper and free shipping from Big W. I ordered mine this morning.
  10. This was the exact same thought i had, half a second before i read your comment.
  11. Lol. All these people that can get to a LEGO store without going on a place or a 12 hour ferry ride!
  12. Not sure if you've googled to see if there's any stores that sell build a minifigure online, but here in Australia I was trying to track down the brick girl minifigure from BAM and found a LEGO franchisee type store (not official LEGO store), and found they had all the BAM exclusive minifigures from the last 3 years (minus two or three) all at the retail price. So I got the BAM Mrs Claus two months ago.
  13. 100% agree. Spent most of the show browsing the web, which really sucked as i was looking forward to it so much. We definitely know what will be the new bumpy in future sets. Also, there is a particular cat i now want from the LEGO city theme to go with my dinos now. Still need to track down a Yaz minifigure, but there are none on Bricklink in Australia and still really dont want the set she is in.
  14. Thank you, that's a very good point! Had not thought of it in a monetary sense. Was only really thinking about what I would like better. Very helpful comment! :-)
  15. Question is... Do I buy the Home Alone set this weekend with the Retro Tin LEGO Sign, Santa's Front Lawn and Double VIP points, or do I gamble all that on the Mrs Clause and Santa Clause Loungeroom being a better GWP? Geez I wish we knew what that next GWP looked like.
  16. Are capes ever available on bricks and pieces? Never seen any myself and been wondering why?
  17. I wish LEGO didn't have to leave revealing things so last minute. I'm waiting to know what these GWPs are before I buy my wife's Santa's Visit and Home Alone sets for Christmas, but it's so stressful not knowing whether they are even going to still be in stock when the GWP is available. At least if I knew what the GWPs were like then I could make a decision on whether they are worth the risk waiting or not and if I should just buy the sets now.
  18. Could always use the second to make the custom base for the original great hall if you wanted to: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-80761/Crimson Coronet/76389-as-basementcliffs-for-75954-great-hall-footprint-mod/#details
  19. Personally I think it is really stupid marketing on LEGOs part. I loved Ninjago City when it came out, but on its own felt it was too expensive and passed on it. When Docks came out I didnt get it as it wasnt great on its own. I tried to get City and would have got both if the originals prices hadnt inflated so much. Now that Gardens is out its just getting ignored as I know it will just feel incomplete now. If these sets or even the first two had been out at the same time or overlapped, i would have bought both and had all 3 now. But because it didnt, i bought none. Thats like $1300 they lost from me and any other person in my position just because they did not overlap. The same thing will probably happen with Diagon Alley if its off the shelves before Gringotts.
  20. I was dissapointed when I saw it considering I already had all the sets I was going to get, but then realised it should be super easy to buy all the parts of bricks and pieces. So i'm just going to do that. Hopefully the instructions are uploaded online in the near future and I can order the parts with my wife's Christmas sets. Definitely like the idea of displaying all the cards in Ron's room. :-D
  21. I got the impression when i read it, that prices are only going up in Europe. Is that correct? Not that it is any consellation for people in Europe. But just wanting to clarify if thats what other people got from it? Something specifically to do with tax i thought!
  22. Not sure if this is the right place to ask... but, ive just ordered the razor crest and considering ordering the Slave 1 (boba fett starship). For anyone that has both, do they look good together? Or is the scale just too off? Dont want to get it if they arent going to look nice together. Any opinions would be great. Thanks.
  23. Trying my best not to spoil anything for those who havent seen the movie. But from what i recall, he isnt angry all the time. So that head matches quite well.
  24. Can't remeber which of the two it was (or maybe both), but the LEGO Batman Movie CMF seemed to have a particular agenda to include the most obscure characters possible. Maybe Batman had more of a shot as they are more distinguishable, colourful and bright. But it does show they are open to very obscure characters in a CMF.
