[MOC] RC Buggy
Jimrask replied to Hogwartus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would love to see instructions too :-) This thing looks so cool! -
I made some changes: I changed the way the motor drives the wheels: I added a differential and changed the gears . I also made the wheelbase of the back wheel 2 studs wider, and placed the back axle 2studs backwards, enlarging the wheel base. The result is that it still drifts, but it is more controllable :-) Because of the changed gears, I can now also use the "ludicrous" mode of the BuWizz. I really should try it out on a parking lot or something, I want to see how fast it goes in a straight line :-) (my apartment is just too small to test it out)

Hi, I made a small MOC to try out the BuWizz I got recently. It powers a servo and a buggy motor. To be honest, this thing is too light for this power :-) it drifts non stop, even in the "slow" mode. "normal" is a lot of fun, "fast is almost impossible to control. "Ludicrous" doesn"t work: the motor jams immediately. I ordered some bigger wheels, and I'm looking around second hand sites for bulk lego technic parts. What is an ideal power/weight ratio to get MOC's as fast as possible, but still controlable?

Does anybody know if it's possible to put 2 of those bricks in series to double the voltage?

Hello everybody, I'm just new here. I used to do a lot of Lego Technic a long time ago, and now, due to Corona-unemployement, I'm planning on piccking things back up. I am quite interested in the whole RC, power functions,... thing, as I never used those earlier. I want to experiment a bit with motors, controls,... I would prefer a non-IR interface, so I found a lot of reviews about the BuWizz 2.0. However, due to the price, I'm a bit hesitant. Also, since there seems to be a bit of chatter about a possible 3.0 version, I would maybe wait for that to arrive? Anybody knows when that is planned to come out? My prefered type of vehicle is a buggy or similar off-roader. (that's why I don't like IR interface) Any tips you guys can give me?
