That's odd. I get Fortnite and such, but HZD has but a tiny fraction of its popularity.
-
I dig how the arches have just the right amount of studs to give them some texture.
-
As a musician: what? Most of us are flat broke and those that aren't switched career paths :)
-
I like they went overboard with the interior. But, eh.. that doesn't look too good. Just another set that fell short of the idea, I guess.
-
Not at all, I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm not here to gaslight people :) The tone of the message had to be such as it it, but obviously I don't really have a way of knowing the demographics of set buyers nor would I presume to know.
-
Why do you think that comment applies to everyone? Obviously, a lot of people will buy the set for the usual reason of feeling some kind of connection to it. I quite dig it myself. But there's some truth in every bad joke. I used to play a bit of jazz and even though my town is not small it doesn't take long to discover all the clubs and start seeing familiar faces of both musicians and audience regulars. You'll find the same if you look at the figures of music streaming services. Jazz is hardly popular compared to whatever's rocking the charts these days. So there's (comparably) few jazz musicians, and listeners have even less of an incentive to buy sets of musicians/instruments. Yet LEGO can be pretty sure that a beautiful, expensive set of jazz musicians will sell well because of all I've said :)

What do you mean? The target market is the same as all the other sets such as: map, globe, typewriter, art sets, instruments, jazz... Rich snobs who like to appear worldly and sophisticated
-
Very predictable. These are the exact same sets I wanted to put down at their guessing game but ultimately chickened out and only put Jazz Quartet.
-
Which ones have they picked so far that were surprising?

Lifeguard shack - looks great, but they actually had at least one variant of those in creator sets and I can't see kids pulling their moms sleeves to buy a lifeguard set Imperial fort - in my dreams only Spaceballs - too crude? Costume store - yawn Dynamite - I have absolutely no idea what that is Movie set - they had those and small scope is indeed the right one for this A-frame cabin - holy shmoly, that is gorgeous. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Boston dynamics - has been in for quite some while and technic had way worse sets Medieval tavern & all others like it - I'm not sure these big builds have the audience Lego needs Women of computing - honestly lame for anyone but women currently in computing Mini golf - Lego is fully into gadgety nonsense so this could work Floating island - same as above. Although, can Lego pull off a lasting floating set that won't just fall apart in a few years? Gamestop - you're kidding, right? Aircraft engine - too niche Scooby doo - would work if they were still into that Firetruck - guarantee some would buy this German cottage - I wish Outer solar system explorer - huh. Not too bad. Knight rider - doesn't have the same appeal it used to back in the day Jaws - going as strong as ever. I feel this would be a no-brainer. There are so many Jaws fans you have to wonder if they're indoctrinating them somewhere... Sewage - kinda lost on me Carl's house - not that iconic Nyhavn - yes, please Minas tirith - hard to believe a good looking MT wouldn't get at least a fraction of the audience good looking SW sets get Nanny - the fran drescher show? That's weird. Looks like a cool modular tho. Medieval castle - not holding my breath House of time - wall mounting A-team - same as Knight Rider. I'd buy it, tho Log cabin - cute, but no broad appeal

[MOD] or MOC Made of Two 31120 Sets, No Extra Pieces

I dig the asymmetrical layout and the two arches next to each other. Creator castle really showed that a castle line in that style would be something to behold. -
I love the angry guy's face on that simple body. I think I find overly detailed figures to look more cartoony, and therefore more difficult to imagine they're "real" if that makes sense. The green guy feels like I could think that's how people look in a dream :)

Wha... arms and legs were the most fun part about the old monkey.
-
I'm jealous of the folks who aren't aware of wallstreetbets calling them selves Apes and exclaiming To The Moon every 5 seconds.
-
I'd buy half the stuff on Guilds of Historica if Lego was into that. Agree with y'all. I don't even care for Roman history and I think the set you described would be amazing.
-
I mean, I'd join the complaints, but those sets are not even available in my country and most of the world so... I guess all the voting and hoping was for nothing.

Lighthouse will be amazing for all the lighthouse fans out there. Other than that, another sad and predictable review stage which caters only to the wishes of rich snobs whose inner child is long dead and buried.
-
What are those? A ginormous Colosseum and a much smaller one would not be competing against each other. Because it belongs in architecture? Why doesn't an existing relationship make something more likely, instead of less?
-
Venice and Auto Union look like a million bucks, Colloseum and Art Musem are perfectly alligned with other Lego adult sets. Motorized Lighthouse is a half decent idea. Why not have all the Castles in the same round and pick one or most likely none? Nothing special about the GMC, but I dig it. Viking Village would be fun.

My toddler always struggled with Duplo for this reason. She could connect Lego easily, but would often lose her nerves as Duplo bricks often (the grip strength varies by quite a lot) required more force to bring together.
-
Wait, what? :) As an AFOL in my 40's I have a mini collection of Creator 3 in 1's as the main model often looks fairly decent as a display piece. I also have a big box of unused minifigures and animals because, well... it's been around 30 years since I had fun playing make-believe with minifigures and animals.

That's odd if true. Castle and Pirates are themes that are great for play as you can recombine elements of different sets, especially of many small sets into one bigger set. Compare that to, say, Star Wars... A huge Millennium Falcon? Yes please. Half a dozen other ships from the universe? Sure, why not. Yet there are so many small sets of stuff I can't even remember was in the movies, that's how little importance it had. It's kinda difficult to play with a dozen unknown crafts that aren't even color coded like Lego Space factions were. And good luck merging a dozen of those small sets into a Millennium Falcon :)

Cool idea. Wolfpack Tower is such an amazing set.
