  1. To be fair, as a father, anything with minifigures is a playset to a child, be it a complex Lego set or a household object than can make-believe into something else ☺
  2. Your four year old has a much higher dexterity stat than I do, things keep falling off when I just move those sets, let alone play with them :)
  3. I've not yet had a missing piece in almost 35 years now.
  4. My bad, that's exactly what it was. This has never happened to me before, but I've been ill lately and the amount of silly things I've done/said in this state has now reached a number where I think it's best I just keep quiet :)
  5. Yes, those are the ones. Should I contact Lego about missing parts? haha I'm more bothered by that first floor wooden beam siting on top of the bottom floor 1x1 tile top beam and they never match up well, so the beam looks broken, but not in a good way. Or is that a post since it's vertical? No idea.
  6. I don't have it, looks rough. On one side only? After some googling I was supposed to get 2x utensil ingot/bar and I got two plain tiles in the same color instead.
  7. The two final bricks in the manual of my set were replaced by similar looking bricks in the bag. Anyone else had this?
  8. A ginormous castle would probably be too much, but maybe a series of modulars like what they did with the Harry Potter sets, only aimed more at afols.
  9. I agree with that, but I can't consider any "here's a copy of something well known in Lego" particularly creative, unless it had a serious twist to it.
  10. That's like saying that a cover band is one of the most creative bands.
  11. The Blacksmith is an amazing set and the designers really outdid themselves on this one. Pictures just don't do it justice. I'd kill to have Lego make something like the recently rejected castle in the forest idea, but on a 3x blacksmith brick count at a ninjago modular price... well, one can dream.
  12. That's a lovely looking ship! Now someone needs to do a more tasteful rendition of 31109 :)
  13. I like the Van Gogh, and a lot of if not most art is well suitable for Lego renditions. However, just like with the globe, Lego only picks the most boring *** predictable projects and back in the day I kinda hoped for the opposite... Lego is already known for being boring *** and predictable (a consequence of which is the whole Bionicle fandom) so having the public steer them in a different direction was just the thing they needed, or at least so I thought.
  14. I mean... for me it only makes sense to look at broad categories first and then vote on a subcategory. In that case Space-y and Castle-y themes win hands down. And only then the rest follow, among which Bionicle got arouund 8% more votes than Pirates+Imperials, despite PI votes being split first amongst each other and then more among other categories compared to Bionicle fans and newly made accounts voting Bionicle only.
  15. Yeah, I think LEGO would want to go for the popular opinion, even if it wasn't right, and in this case it probably is, as you said, Stuartn. Switching to eco-friendly paper bags was one example, since for that purpose the plastic bag is the most eco-friendly. But, of course, that's not how it seems to your average parent buying err... plastic... bricks.
  16. I'd love to see the results, sounds fun!
  17. I'm the opposite, I'd like 10193 remade in the style of 21325, since this very much looks like 3739 anyway. No hinge is disappointing. Price per piece seems allrite?
  18. Yes, that's why I'm asking. It'd be great if it was for everyone. It's been several days already since 71741 is available for purchase in my local store (with delivery moved to February), but no trace of 21325 and they are not responding to my inquiries. If it's coming soon, it would make sense for me to get both at once.
  19. When will this be in regular stores?
  20. True, true... Didn't stop me voting Imperials though.
  21. When I saw the title I thought "ok, who needs that?" But now that I see the build, the answer is me, I need that.
  22. I'm not a fan of the gappy builds but my experience is the opposite. I stopped building with Lego when the pieces became too small, requiring a lot more time and skill to achieve a pleasing result. Also in the 1990's as little as 400 pieces might have meant you can build an awesome monstrosity, while today 400 pieces will probably result in a smallish set that gains nothing important (well, not in the approach at least, it does in a lot of other unrelated things) and instead just fills the otherwise invisible interior up completely.
  23. How so? Classic Castle kinda feels like just another faction, albeit with less realistic colors. But since it's make believe a yellow castle feels normal for a fantasy world and even if they made a new one the colors and details would be more pleasing to AFOLs. Probably a lot of people who voted had a different idea of what Classic Castle is too...
  24. A classic brick built set or? I can't imagine what they would make since Central Perk is the only recognizable part of the show. It would have to be something like brickheadz or a collage or smth.
