Your models have always been really impressive, both size and design wise, great job! -
[MOC] 42108 Set Alternates
jshuiting replied to TGBDZ's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Dang, wouldn't be the first nor the last time i missed something! But those are some mighty fine designs anyway! One thing i meant to ask before, was the utility truck based on a real vehicle btw? it looks really familiar, reminds me a bit of the IFA multicar. -

And just like that you turned the 42108 into a Creator 5 in 1 set. And really nice models too! Would love to see the roll-off truck in some more angles if it's still in one piece. -
Technic 9398 has no torque
jshuiting replied to Desno_HD's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm guessing the extra height of the claas tires is decreasing torque,or at least makes it allot more difficult for the car to lift itself. Even the 42070 can be made much more agile by fitting some smaller tires. -
I know it's more of a joke, but if you look at both companies net worth then VAG is aprox 4x bigger. And it's not surprising looking at what they own : Volkswagen, Seat, Audi, Skoda, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ducati, Porsche, Scania, and MAN.

Not bad at all! But i feel like the seating area is way to bare. Looks kind of unfinished Could be the angle though.

Really nice! Do you have any plans to make instructions? Would love to make a Devil Z replica based on it! -
I assume you also didn't use any white clutch gears? Would you be willing to post some close-ups of the crane itself? I would love to make something similiar for my Arocs, it looks so much better!

That is sweet! Really surpised to see how smooth the pneumatics work, but also that the crane is able to turn arround so easily with so much overhanging weight!

[TC18] Trabant 601
jshuiting replied to Go-Kart's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you have to drive a Trabant i see how people think negatively of it, but when you just drive one for fun it's truely a experience, and not a negative one! They're really no less then a 2CV, Mini or a 500 when it comes down to it. -

Nice! I was daily driving one a few years ago! Can't wait to see what you come up with, but it looks promising already! -
I thought that the bricks themselves could always be copied, but that the actual lego sets were copyrighted? I may be wrong but i've seen some CaDA sets being posted here before unlike L*pin. Like for instance CaDA's PUBG buggy, which is also a great model! Really wish i could convince myself into buying this one though, there's just something about buying a "fake" brand that puts me off, perhaps you just need to be able to see these as their own "thing" Now if it was the Devil Z from Wangan Midnight however.. it would be a no brainer for me, off-brand or not.

Hello everyone! Just to not be a complete stranger here, my name's Jan, started collecting Technic truck models a few years back just to pass time, but it has become quite a hobby! Don't expect any MOC's from me as i'm only here admiring the MOC's from others, but who knows what time will bring!
-
I'm not a huge fan of the chinese knock-offs, but this one caught my attention. To my knowledge it's a original design of the AE86 used in Initial D, but someone may correct me on that one, CaDA isn't really known for stealing designs as far as i know. But they even added small details like the glass of water in the cup holder, and a box of tofu in the trunk, and apperantly can be made RC very easily! I normally wouldn't buy any off-brand lego as it doesn't hold any value whatsoever, but i'm really tempted with this one. Any thoughts?

42111 - Fast & Furious car
jshuiting replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's what i was thinking aswell, seems like the mayor issue with the Charger's current rims is that they're too wide. The Mustang's rims would look better but i think those are a too small, the rear suspension is already very close to the ground judging by the promotional shots. -

With the suspension parts i obviously didn't mean just the 6 shocks, but all the other parts necesary to modify the chassis aswell, the 42070 would need allot of work as most people here would know. That they dont cost 20 i can agree with. I see what you mean though, thing however is TLG has to draw the line somewhere, if they have to design a simple buggy or a crane for kids to play with and it has to fulffill some set criteria like costs and size, they just can't go all out on it, compromises have to be made with every single set, that means even dropping suspension parts on a off-roader when they reach their limit. Even the metal hook and buggy motors fall in this conundrum, because how fast do these motors really need to go if they're just played with by kids? And do we really need more expensive metal hooks if our toys are just that, toys? Like where should they draw the line anyway? Do they really need to create motors that bend axles and eat liftarms for breakfast? Or have hooks that could potentially damage parts? And at the end of the day we can act like there are millions of AFOL's and MOC'ers that Lego needs to cater to aswell, but judging by how many repeating members i see on rebrickable, eurobricks, youtube and many other places this is just a really densely packed, small niche group. The biggest market and primary focus of TLG is and probably will always be making toys for kids, like the age recomendations say right on the box, we should be glad that companies like BuWizz fill this niche market. Also i'm not buying the "lego used to be cheaper" part; 8207 - 86 parts - retails at 7,99 - adjusted for inflation 13,99 42101 - 117 parts - retails at 12,99 If anything sets are becoming quite allot cheaper. And my apologies for going so off-topic, but this re-occuring blame on TLG for doing literally anything just irks me to no end. -
42111 - Fast & Furious car
jshuiting replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You do have to take in consideration that when TLG is designing a set they have to take way more things into consideration than the average MOC designer. Especially price comes to mind, for example if you want to make the 42070 full RC it'll cost you +-50 more, a decent suspension +-20? And add a buwizz and you're spending another 129 euros. I can see why they have to simplify sets sometimes, eventhough i do believe they could've included some of these features for the price they were selling it at initially.. But just to put things into perspective, a MOC like this one will cost you close to a 1000, and that's by ordering a mix of new and used parts from multiple shops to cut costs. Eventhough the MOC is great, i can think of multiple reasons why Lego won't come up with a set like that, it's why we make MOC's in the first place. Edit : Mechbuild hit the nail right on the head. -

The wheels are just way to big, and much too wide, feel like some arocs wheels with custom hubcaps would've been much better. Or perhaps the mustang wheels?
