  1. I know I'm in the minority. The more I look at it, the less I like it. Something about it just is off to me. I mean, I'll buy it eventually so LEGO wins anyway, but I won't build it. I'll have to come up with a different MOC out of some of the pieces sometime.
  2. I haven't seen it. I've heard of it. I didn't realize it was a comedy. The building looks really neat. Did you create your own stickers for the wall? And what did you use for the windows to get that shape?
  3. I ended up just going for 7 copies of the book. Thankfully Target here had a buy 2, get 1 free on books, so I was able to stock up that way to save a little money. But either way, Amazon prices were decent for the most part on multiples (as in cheaper from Amazon for the whole book compared to the figure plus shipping on Bricklink). Now I have 7 copies of a book I don't care about. Oh well.
  4. I've never been that lucky. But I ordered bulk plates (like 6x8) in medium nougat and some in dark bley. Both were similarly priced when adding them to the basket, but when I received my order the nougat were marked down almost $1.50, but dark bley were the same. So I found it strange, but like you said, you try to order them again (because I would have ordered more if I had known it was going to be discounted), but on the next order full price.
  5. Coming from someone who has been invested in the Modular line from almost the beginning, I can say meh. I like the color scheme for the most part (I don't love the sand green roof here with the flesh color, but like the idea of a sand green roof otherwise). I don't love the flat iron design just for how it fits in on a square street. The whole point of the flat iron shape is because of the angled roads next to it. I will likely buy it eventually, but I have zero interest in actually building it or displaying it. I'm sure there are lots of great techniques (and I'm obviously not a LEGO designer, so they could show me a lot of tricks), but this isn't screaming out to me, for some reason. I can see I'm in the minority, so there's that.
  6. So it wasn't only me that got Gringotts vibes from the new modular? The dome for sure. The flat iron angled shape adds to it. Color scheme not as much outside of being lighter. So yeah, I'd think Gringotts won't be coming for a bit. I stalled a project I was working on because I assumed we would have an official one sooner than later and didn't want to create my own, only to toss it aside because an official version came out. Now I need to decide if I want to restart that project and build my own afterall or wait another year...or two...
  7. I always mean to make a list, then I forget, and then the sets are released and I check this forum and realize I made a huge mistake in waiting, and then I scramble to grab what I can...maybe 2022 resolution, be more organized?
  8. Well overall it looks good. I don’t love the color change and because of that I won’t need to pick up multiples. But the relief is since they are scarved I wouldn’t need multiples for my indoor Hogwarts scenes anyway. but overall should have some useful pieces so that always helps!
  9. It was unfortunate that Hobbit movies weren't popular. They were obviously geared at kids with the comedic bits of the Dwarves, but I don't think that translated well to official sets. I didn't like the movies (I didn't really care for the book either), but I wasn't the target audience. LOTR sets were well enough, but I definitely only cared about the figures and army building Uruks or Rohirrim. But I guess it is time to just accept that chapter is behind us and move forward to whatever LEGO decides to give us.
  10. That is clever to the max. Even the box opening on the bottom is clever part usage. Well done!
  11. I love Stranger Things. It took a while to get into it, but I thought 2 and 3 were both strong seasons. I loved the addition of Robin in season 3. But with all that said, I don't care about keychains or brickheadz, so hopefully they have something else worthwhile. I think the popularity has waned some since they have such long gaps between seasons (the kids are growing up!!!). You need to do a lot all at once for child actors unless you want them in college soon. Either way, I guess time will tell.
  12. I think this looks amazing. But for the price, I will have to skip it. I think this blows the other Western themed Bricklink set out of the water.
  13. I guess I don't follow well enough, but could it be LEGO doesn't release as much DC as Marvel since DC doesn't put out as much as Marvel. It seems Marvel content is every which way and what are people with DC talking about, one Batman movie. Which is just another in a long line of samesies...*shrug* (I know Flash and Aquaman are coming out sometime in the future also)
  14. That's still a good price considering how much Cedric goes for on bricklink. Target had a sale a month or two ago where you buy 2 books, get one free, so I did my purchase on that. It ended up being about $5 each at that point. I should have bought more.
  15. Being a collector of minifigure Iron Man variants, I can only hope the minifigure in this set isn't one I'd want .. I guess is it based on Ultron again only larger (and therefore a Tony figure), or is it based on Endgame where Bruce has to pilot it...
  16. I'd for sure buy more Quidditch if it has easier access to other houses. I have 3 of the 2018 set and I bought 4 of the Cedric book (plus DA), so while I'm short, I don't want to have to buy multiples to fill out the Ravenclaw team...but it'd be nice if they could find a way to make them easier obtained. But hey, just release anything with some decent (new) prints and fun scenes and I'll keep buying them.
  17. The real question, would they get the rights to use Cornell for Andy's sweater vest or something (or maybe Dwight when he pretended to go there)... It begs the question, do they go with the typical look of the characters or one off caricatures of some of the stuff they do like in Friends. The Central Perk set wasn't all inclusive of their wardrobe at that particular moment, but took different scenes and pushed them together, just like the apartments. So they could do that with Office. The unfortunate bit is they work in an Office, so people tend to wear pretty generic outfits there. But could be neat to see some new suit prints at least. Also, I wouldn't expect it, but would love to see a Robert California figure haha. He might be an acquired tasted and as much as I liked Michael, RC is a presence for sure.
  18. What set is the blank oval shield in? I’ll have to add that to my list sometime.
  19. I was about to say I just saw it at Target yesterday when I went. They had everything in stock which was a first in a long time since the pandemic rush over the last 1.5 years. But I’m sure leading up to the holiday it will be empty again.
  20. Some clever details here. Yes, the cacti look neat using the gear. I hadn't thought of that (granted I didn't know they came in green). I like the fountains and use of the energy element as water spouting out. I like the dome on top. I like the white arched awning pieces on the middle floor. A lot of neat ideas here. Well done.
  21. You should be aware that you will never be done sorting/organizing UNLESS you stop buying LEGO. That's a simple fact you will need to learn. You will need a system that can adapt a growing collection. I have a system of wall mounted drawers for the small bits, then bigger drawers for plates sorted by size, and then sterilite containers for the rest of the pieces first sorted by color, then by subtype. This is easier for me. I know exactly where to look for which piece type I am looking for. We all have our own preferences. You'll need to figure out what works best for you and you won't figure that out immediately. It will change a lot and often until you get into the groove.
  22. Considering LEGO owns Bricklink, I'd assume LEGO is producing parts. That's why they also don't have new prints for figures/pieces and are using stickers or existing figures. They likely have the inventory for the pieces and with a limited supply they can allocate the proper factory work to produce the sets and be done with it. Unlike other sets that may require a longer production time since they are higher volume than 5k (or 10k for some sets). Also, why a lot of the sets aren't being released until January and June of next year even though they were sold this past summer.
  23. I had Barbie dolls as a kid. I needed to if I wanted to be able to play with my sister. I grew up with the minifigure, but I actually quite like the minidoll. I don't think I'd rebuy everything figure in minidoll form or anything, but I could see the appeal. It is different enough. Mixing them doesn't work for me, but I know TLM2 did and seemed to be successful enough.
  24. The prices are crazy high. Yes, the piece counts are consistently higher also. I think that will be a problem for most people. Too bad they didn't have more of a range of high/low priced sets vs a whole bunch of higher priced sets in one round. I was interested in the Brickwest Studios, but at $280 I'm out. And it looks like round 3 I have no interest, so looks like this year was a bust for me. Missed out on the castle because the website wouldn't let me in, and now high prices across the board. Meh, what are you going to do?
  25. The submission was for the US version, so the set will be the US version. as for figures, you’d hope for the whole squad. So many side characters it will be difficult to include them all. And would they be going off an earlier season with Easter eggs, or a later season because that would change availability of some characters if they went full office.
