  1. If you look at that catalog, it shows Santa holding a snow globe. It looks awesome. I really hope that is the figure for series 8! If they have to update/release that particular santa for the Advent Calendar, then I guess I'll have to find a way to get him there.
  2. Okay, finally sifted through all the new posts..took for-ev-er. Anyway, the new exclusive figures look great. I guess I am not as much of a comic fan as I didn't realize the three sides to the Phoenix force (had to look it up) so the green Jean Gray was news to me. I'm hoping for the white or red personally! Venom does look more like Spidey, so I'm not as upset about missing out on him (unless I can find a reasonable one). I was expecting the mouth/teeth look. I had no idea who Shazam was so I'm not as disappointed about missing that character, but at the same time I do like minifigures. And I already forgot who the other one was..oh yeah, Bizarro. I actually like how he looks and I'm not a Superman fan at all, but he is the one I seem to want the most. Very peculiar. I will keep my eyes peeled for reasonable prices, but I doubt I'll make the purchase since I still need Bane and Poison Ivy from wave 1 of DC. As far as them not being in any set, I understand that as these particular versions won't be in any set. That's not to say they won't release every single one of these figures in the future, it just won't be this exact figure. I'm sure they could "technically" change the printing every so slightly and release all of these. Yes, the fans with these exclusives would be upset, but TLG could still make money on them. We will have to wait and see what they release in the future. A part of me is upset that I won't own these and a part of me doesn't seem to care as much. I need to spend the money on sets/themes instead of just a few figures.
  3. Great interview. It is always neat to read about the people behind the name. I only got into SW Lego this year, but it has been fun looking/reading about yours (and everyone else's) creations/comments. It's funny that you chose your name based off of an optometrist since that is why I chose mine (although I'm the optometrist, not my father). Keep up the good work.
  4. I wouldn't mind having that police jeep. I do hope it becomes a real set (even though I'm not into city sets normally). Any of the awesome MOCers out there able to retro-build this set and figure out a brick list?
  5. Neat build. I like the snot work and the idea behind the build. I'm not too sure how easy they could rent out living quarters right underneath a night club. But I could see this as a night club, or living quarters. But good color scheme and brick usage. Good luck in the contest!
  6. The retro tv is brilliant. The idea and coloring works well. Times they are a'changing. I miss board game night.
  7. Neat little build. I really like the interior details. I considered doing something similar with my interior, but I don't know yet how it will play out. Good luck in the contest!
  8. These look fantastic. I am not too familiar with building cars in 7 wide format, but it is very impressive. I may need to start in the future. I would also like to see instructions or tips on how to build them. But if you've built some for selling purposes, I doubt you will be sharing any instructions with us. Keep up the great builds!
  9. I don't know any of their names, but I actually like Bombur's belly. I think TLG did a great job portraying that in minifig form. There wouldn't be another way to go about it really. I am excited to see more of the figures! I know absolutely nothing about The Hobbit books/movies, so this is all new and exciting to me.
  10. Great MOC/MOD! I thought the official version was neat, but I wasn't going to get it. If it was designed like this, I would very much put it on my list of sets to get. I agree, do you have instructions/part list? Keep up the great work.
  11. That's too bad they are having more exclusive figures. I, along with others, would like to get these figures, but it is near impossible to do so since they are so limited in quantity. No sense in trying because Lego ends up with zero of the aftermarket sales anyway. Seems silly to me.
  12. Simply brilliant. I love the look so far. Great attention to detail and the aesthetic is very pleasing. I can't wait to see more. This makes me want to do something similar, but I lack time.
  13. Thanks for making this. It might be helpful for some people, but probably not the candid CMF seeker. I am also a proponent of the feel method. I have only been wrong one time and the figure I got I wanted an extra one anyway, so it worked out. You definitely can't rush feeling them to guarantee each and every figure you touch.
  14. With all the sets I currently own and with all the great themes coming out, there is no way I could afford multiples of any but a few select sets. I will buy multiples of some army building sets like Uruk Hai Army. If I only collected a few themes I would buy multiples of some larger sets when they are discounted, but at the moment I can't afford that. I already can't get all the themes I want now, so I need to be more selective. I wouldn't mind the idea of keeping one set sealed for resale value, but since so many people are doing that now I can't imagine it will get too much money back compared to typical "inflation" pricing. Unless I had my original sets from the early 90s still sealed.
  15. The cars look amazing. As does the dealership signage. It does not look Lego at all. Any instructions on how to make our own versions of those cars?
  16. Brilliant work. I love building things in mini form now. I just started building a mini theater for the contest within the last few days and this is the first I've seen this post. It is amazing how similar, yet different our two versions are/will be. I'm glad you're not entering it because I have enough competition as it is. Keep up the good work.
  17. Thanks for the review. I only read part of it because it is quite extensive/detailed. Exactly what people need to see. The printing with LOTR is brilliant and the newly designed castles are quite clever and give a nice unique shape to them. You could easily incorporate them into your own unlicensed land and be just fine. Even though it is a sticker, the banner with the emblem is beautiful. That is probably one of the few stickers I will definitely put on my set. I am saving mine for Christmas. We got a great deal on it from B&N so I ordered all of the main sets on sale and put them back for Christmas. Now my wife is almost done shopping! The figures look great. The armor/helmet of the king is brilliant. I can't wait to see it in my hands.
  18. Simply brilliant. Instantly recognizable. It is too bad the heads have to float like that, but I doubt it would be the proper shape to include the full minifigure. Either way, it looks great. I may have to look at those instructions sometime.
  19. Neat builds. I love vintage cars so those take the cake in my book. But that Mustang is brilliant. I may have to borrow some ideas (I haven't really built any vehicles before). Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see more.
  20. For a mostly white building, this looks quite good. As realistic as a monochromatic color scheme is, the modulars are really colorful. But this is a great build to complement them. I like the interior with the different rooms. Very clever use of space to make a functional museum. The stairs are really simple, but look great with that tile. The clock and the year on the top work well too (and blend with the series). Good luck in the contest! There is some really good competition. Hopefully I can finish mine in time.
  21. I go on streaks. Sometimes all I can think about is lego and then others I got days/weeks without even looking at any bricks. I was excited for the Modular Madness contest when it was first listed. We have only a few weeks left and I'm still hardly even started. I guess that shows the amount of time I have. But there have been times when I felt I needed a "fix" and eurobricks typically fends it off enough, but sometimes you just need to buy/build something. And it is finally nice to see someone spell that word correctly. I don't know how many times I've seen it misspelled.
  22. I would say it is designed to be an army builder. I love army building and when I first saw pictures of that knight I immediately planned on building up a nice boar horde. When I first bought any packages I picked up a few of him. The next day I ended up returning the extras. I just didn't get a building vibe from him after holding him in the flesh. I haven't even looked at any of those figures in quite some time, so maybe my perception would change again. But I think army building would be the way to go for him. I'm saving up for the next series. Hopefully there will be a nice army builder in there.
  23. Looks exactly as I would picture it. Simply brilliant and clever build. The fireplace looks great with/without the light brick. The canopy is a bit high if the extra mattresses weren't there, but in this situation it works quite nicely. The floor looks good and the head usage was perfect. Any more children's tales on the horizon? Keep up the great work.
  24. vittorio I would say get the Post Office. I found mine on a nice 20% discount, so it made the overall cost worthwhile. At full price I was a bit disappointed. I built the Bakery after the Toy Shop and felt it had too few pieces. It does look really nice when completed, but it seemed to be a really simple build. The Post Office looks beautiful, but the price tag isn't appealing. The mail truck looks like a nice vintage model and I like the rounded front window. It isn't how I would have built it, but it gets the shape just right. When it comes down to timing, the Bakery should be first if you are a completist. If you aren't, I say get the Post Office. And after reading everyone's remarks about this Earth Defense HQ, I almost want to get one, even though I have no interest in that theme or even know what that set looks like!
  25. The ship looks nice. I really have no recollection of this set, but I haven't seen the OT in close to 6 years. It really is whatever TLG gives us to give my perception of what the SW universe is like. I'm not a big enough SW fan to buy anything UCS though. The price to piece isn't the best, but there are other factors that go into that. Minifigures are more appealing to me, like some others, but I don't think I could/would justify buying a $200 set just for some minifigures. Although the Haunted House is appealing, but I probably won't afford that one either. Hope everyone that wants this ship, gets it and enjoys it. And everyone that doesn't want it, constructs their own to enjoy. Happy building.
