  1. Well, you do you. At least most of Lego's t-shirts have actual details, be them logos, jackets, neckline, etc. Pants are a different story. Sure, pockets are nice, so is a belt, maybe shoes/boots, but by and large, it is a luxury. The fact that you have printed parts to swap shows how much this isn't an issue. Either way, Lego does what it does, we do what we like with the end result. It's all part of the fun.
  2. I'll try and bricklink some then. I just moc'ed another one with the training Luke legs (from Yoda's Hut), so I am finding options. But, I do like those legs, so maybe future troops will just mix it up a bit.
  3. Never gonna happen, but if we're getting the I-TS, a man can dream. Legends Wave: E-Wing Starfighter: Wedge Antilles, R7 Astromech, New Republic Trooper Clawcraft: Imperial Remnant Pilot, Stormtrooper. Twin Suns X-Wing: Jaina Solo, Astromech Droid, Luke Skywalker. Yuuzhan Vong Battle Pack: Nom Anor, 3x Yuuzhan Vong Soldiers (2 black uniforms, 1 red). Something organic as a build. New Jedi Order Battle Pack: Mara Jade Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Antarian Ranger, Twi'lek Jedi. The Chimaera: Grand Admiral Thrawn, Gilad Pellaeon, 2x Stormtroopers, Rukh Again, highly unlikely, but never say never.
  4. Some figures from the New Jedi Order series. The Skywalkers (Luke, Mara Jade, Ben), don't know why I gave Luke long hair, but I kinda like it. Jaina Solo. The blue pilots from Rogue One provide the darkest suits we've seen from Lego. So I compromised and used it for Jaina. Black is of course the accurate color, but what're ya gonna do? New Republic Special Forces. Also doubles as Aliiance Special Forces, the gold and black uniforms from Legends. They use BrickArms M41A (from Alien) New Republic Troopers. The Legends troopers retained the Alderaanian Guard uniforms, and I gave them a bit more of a tactical look. Probably should give them tan pants (or dark tan), so I may revisit them in the future. Imperial Remnant Stormtroopers. Fused the 2014 era figures with the 2008-2012 helmets and one 2012 torso. It makes them different from the standard Stormies without going overboard. Nom Anor. Might revisit him in the future. I don't have the spikes in tan, but other than that I like how he turned out. The Gundabad Orcs from the Hobbit make good Yuuzhan Vong, so I'm thinking about making Vong soldiers in the future. That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoy.
  5. Having print that's literally a few creases most wouldn't notice under normal light is what I call pointless. Sure, Imperial Crew/Gunners look good for having it, but it's unnecessary. Lego is a business, and if there's no need for printing, they should take the appropriate cost-cutting measures. Detail for the sake of detail is for action figures, not Lego. It's nice having all the bells and whistles, but no doubt it's also very expensive, hence why it's so rare (CMF's are "collectible", they're meant to have the best). What's really confusing is all the characters that need it, have it: Luke (every outfit sans Jedi, where as @wesker says isn't necessary), Han, Chewie, C-3PO (though he could use the silver leg), Leia (except ANH), Vader, Boba Fett, Palpatine, Stormtroopers, Biker Scouts, the list is virtually endless. Don't even get me started on characters from the Prequels. Let me be clear: I like detail, who doesn't, but I'm okay with "plain" figures as well. It is very well a luxury, as is Lego itself, lest we forget. Most still wouldn't buy it. I know I'd rather get the figures off of Bricklink than shell out $100 for a set I could care less about. I've heard this before, and I have to dissent here: while capes aren't ideal, neither is the skirt. Maybe the cape + skirt, but here's my solution: A poncho in red. The Royal Guards have stuff under the robes (actual armor), that would be nice to see finally acknowledged by Lego. An armored torso print, with a red poncho (maybe printed), and I think the cape and a skirt would give us all the flow of their robes (as they do have capes plus the robes we see)
  6. I get that, I do. But sometimes it comes off as "All figures need arm/leg printing/dual-molding" which isn't true.
  7. I don't get the fuss about leg printing. Do we really need crease lines on all black pants? Sometimes no leg print is good. Imo, if it looks simple enough (as some designs are), no leg print is necessary. If it looks too busy on the torso, some leg printing can spread it out. But by-and-large, leg prints are a luxury, not a necessity. Edit: A quick brickset search makes me stand corrected, as to the number of SW figs without a leg print in recent years. Last edit said there's been no plain legs since 2015, which is false.
  8. They might be LBG, but it's hard to tell at such quality.
  9. No, she's in her blue outfit from the Siege of Mandalore. The grey you're seeing is her silver boots. They aren't dual molded so the base part is silver.
  10. An idea I've been mulling over: Sets that feature everything you need (or close to it) from each film (OG 6 for this list). The Iconic Moments of Star Wars: Battle of Naboo: Features Theed Palace, an N-1 Starfighter, Vulture Droid, AAT, and the reactor room. Padme Amidala (battle dress), Captain Panaka, Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2, Nute Gunray, Qui-Gon Jin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Maul, Battle Droid x2, Battle Droid Commander. Battle on Geonosis: Features the hangar bay which stores Dooku's Solar Sailor, and a Petranaki Arena. Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, Yoda, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Poggle the Lesser, Nute Gunray, Boba Fett, 2 Super Battle Droids, 4 Battle Droids, 2 Geonosian Warriors, 2 Clone Troopers. Revenge of the Sith: A 2-for-1 type set, featuring Palpatine's arrest and the battle on Mustafar. Palpatine's Office, Coruscanti Airspeeder, Anakin's Interceptor (Green), Padme's Starship. Chancellor Palpatine (Red Robes), Anakin Skywalker (with cape), Padme Amidala (Mustafar dress), Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, R2-D2, C-3PO, Saesee Tiin, Kit Fisto (new head), Agen Kolar. Death Star Rescue: Detention Center, Control Room (the gang's first stop), the corridor where Obi-Wan duels Vader. Luke Skywalker (farmboy), Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia (with skirt), R2-D2, C-3PO, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, 2 Stormtroopers. Betrayal on Bespin is essentially a pre-existing ESB equivalent. Return of the Jedi: Another 2-for-1, with an Endor Bunker, and Palpatine's throne. TIE Interceptor, AT-ST, and a couple speeder bikes. Luke Skywalker (Jedi), Han Solo (trenchcoat), Princess Leia (Endor), Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Lando Calrissian (general), Wicket, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Moff Jerjerrod, Admiral Piett, TIE Fighter Pilot, AT-ST Driver, 2 Biker Scouts.
  11. I personally prefer contrast in figure designs, as long as they aren't too busy. Colored arms and black hips, while not accurate are way more visually appealing than plain arms and hips. Given how minifigs are designed, certain details can not be translated perfectly, and that's fine. That said, I do like the new designs, even if they're vastly different from previous clones.
  12. You're right, TCW was initially hated, but proved itself later on (hell, early on with episodes like "Rookies"), and while I don't think the ST has enough staying power (at least, post-TFA), that doesn't mean there won't be fans that come in because of those films. I also agree that a balance is needed, something like this wave, without the rehashes. However, I do believe that we'll get another $15 clone battle pack next year, as $30 is a bit steep for an army builder (filing Chapter 11 just thinking about it ). On another note: I have this love-hate relationship with sequel sets. I strongly dislike the films (sans TFA), but some of the figures are useful/cool. That being said, I'm leaning into the Night Buzzard, not because I like it, per se, but because I may try to go after the Knights at some point. If I end up getting Kylo's Shuttle in the next few days or so, that might help my decision.
  13. Well, I'm gonna respond to you! Regardless of my age, my point referenced the fact that at the very least, the Clone Walker Battle Pack remains a fan-favorite, all these years later. Kids are always being touted as the target audience, so I figured my being a kid at the time would help shed some light on how the core demographic viewed those sets. Besides, have you seen the clone armies floating around? All of them had to come from sets (even bricklink sellers need to buy sets). Jedi collections, Mandalorian camps, even staples of the droid army, all of these prove how many people loved those sets. Sure, some areas will have overstock, but that's with literally any toyline or Lego theme. Doesn't mean it sold poorly worldwide, just in a few areas. If TCW sold so poorly, we wouldn't be getting a 501st Legion set, no matter how much we cried. Nor a Clone Wars AAT, with fan-favorite Ahsoka and a 332nd Trooper no less. It's a well received part of the saga, moreso than later media (Rebels, the Sequels). I feel like it'll always be around. On that note, I remember reading (on here, I think) that a Lego designer said that Rebels sets didn't do so hot. It was an informal dialogue, but it was said. The Clone Wars sets have never been reported on in that way. Which sucks, because Rebels had potential Lego-wise.
  14. I got into Lego in 2009, when I was nine years old. My first set was the Stone Chopper from Power Miners. So I wasn't collecting "10-15 years ago". Like I and others have said, clone wars sets sold like their counterparts. If they didn't sell where you lived, well too bad. But that also doesn't disqualify the fact that the clone walker battle pack is arguably the best selling battle pack Lego ever made. Just look at how many of the clone wars troopers are floating around the web in various collections. The 2008 LAAT was another best seller, until the 2013 version took its place. Anime eyes be damned, many who grew up at the time (including myself) loved TCW show and if they could, bought the sets. I actually liked the eye style (blasphemy! ). End of the day, those sets were largely the best thing that happened to Lego Star Wars. If they were such a failure, they wouldn't have carried the theme for 4 years. Sure, other sets did their part too, but you're discrediting some of the best sets of the 2008-2011 era.
  15. I mean, Ap'lek uses it pretty well, but Obi-Wan and now Palpatine, it's just too prominent. I liked what they tried back in 2014-2018 for old Ben, the printed robes, while not perfect, worked. The cape + new hood just doesn't. Look at any image of Palpatine, even TROS, and the old hood is the more accurate piece. I get what they were going for, but it's better suited to other sci-fi/action themes, like DC for instance.
  16. Debatable. I know for a fact that the first clone wars battle pack (clone walker) sold like hotcakes. And most of the TCW sub-theme did just as well as their wavemates in any given year up to about 2012, when merch for the show as a whole plateaued. It was and is a popular series, merch for it should print money. It wasn't in anyone's top 50. Also, I hate that the new hood piece is replacing the old classic. Usually I love updated molds, but certainly both can be interchangeably utilized. Like was mentioned, the old piece was perfect for Palps. The new hood is just, eh. It's still a nice mold, but I prefer the old hood.
  17. I think you misunderstand. When I said "insulting" I meant the fact that only TROS got something really new: the Night Buzzard and the IT-S (though that's technically just Galaxy's Edge). And I suppose the Razorcrest counts as something new, but considering the whole wave is essentially rehashes (yes, even the 501st set), it could've used some fresh blood. Or long lost blood at least. @MGS6735 Completely agree. It's a difficult juggle, to be sure. I do believe Lego can find a balance, but who knows. Funny thing is, many sets we clamor for do get made, to be fair, but others seem like far off pipe dreams, with everything and the kitchen sink getting made before them.
  18. I think some sets will always welcome a rerelease, such as the AT-AT. The problem comes in the fact that many sets that should get a rehash, don't. 1 Venator to 3 Grievous fighters is criminal. And if the set was at least decently priced? Then fine. But, at the end of the day, live with excitement, some disappointment, and hope for the future. Also want to point out that it wouldn't even be that bad if certain older sets weren't (a) terribly built compared to today, or (b) horrendously overpriced on the secondary market.
  19. Hey, it's all personal opinion. I feel that Lego is given a lot of passes, sometimes unnecessarily. I don't always agree with Lego's decisions, and I don't have to. For years, Lego's shafted multiple parts of the community, be it the PT crowd, the CW crowd, even the OT crowd. Sure, they throw bones here and there, but overall, Lego does what it wants. Plain and simple. And that's their right, of course. Rereleases are also perfectly acceptable for the reasons you and others mention, but even still, Anakin's Interceptor is a bit of a lazy choice. At least give us the green! Frequent fliers with little improvements (sans recent OT Fighters), can get a tad tiring. And no one was exactly clamoring for a new Soulless One. TROS gets new sets, sure, but aside from the 501st Legion, the Razorcrest, AAT, and I'll be nice and add the AT-AT, where's the innovation? The flair, if you will. Personally, I like a good chunk of the wave, 6/9 sets are solid to me. But, I still see critical errors in Lego's business model. Kids may be the target audience, but what kid wouldn't take a clone wars fighter here and there? It's about spreading the love, something Lego does have trouble with. And no, simply making an era-related set doesn't count.
  20. It is ridiculously heavy on re-releases. It's a crying shame that only TROS got new sets, it's kind of insulting. As for the Night Buzzard, even the Slave I had more presence in Empire. I watched TROS and never noticed it. And I'm pretty attentive to movie details. Some people like it, and that's fine, but it's still kind of pointless. Exegol would've achieved the same goal of completing the Knights. Maybe next year will be a bit more appealing across the board. One can only hope.
  21. Siege Troopers Battle Pack: Death Watch Loyalist, Nite Owl, 2x 332nd Troopers. Imperial Remnant Troopers: 2x Stormtroopers (Dusty), 2x Biker Scouts (Dusty). Duel on Geonosis ($19.99): Count Dooku, Yoda. Mandalorian Combat Speeder ($29.99): Bo-Katan Kryze, 332nd Trooper, 2x Mandalorian Super Commandos. Endor Chase ($29.99): Biker Scout, Luke Skywalker (Endor Poncho), Stormtrooper. Utapau Assault ($49.99): Commander Cody, 2x 212th Troopers, 2x Battle Droids, Magna Guard. Crab Droid. B-Wing Starfighter ($69.99): Horton Salm, B-Wing Pilot, Rebel Commando ARC-170 Starfighter ($89.99): Captain Jag, Clone Pilot, Plo Koon, R4-P44.
  22. Yes, but, Anakin's Delta-7 was $20 in 2008 and given a substantial update in 2018 for $20. That's a decade gap, plus the 2018 version was a decent upgrade. A rehash for an extra five bucks, and essentially nothing new is unforgivable. Maybe if it was the green one, I could give it a pass, but a $30 set should have more than 2 figures. Period. It's wavemate is also $30 and has 6 figures (and yes, the droids do count). Not saying it needs 6 figures, but one clone couldn't hurt.
  23. I'm willing to bet that we'll get some next year. TCW is far from dead (popularity wise). Taking a page out of a few people's books: Anakin's Interceptor: The 2014 release left little to be desired, but I'm sure costs a fortune second-hand (like it's wavemates Vulture Droid and V-Wing). Needed a third figure. Probably won't get it. 501st Legion: I'll save up to get about 5 initially, then bricklink additional figures. I've wanted a 501st army for awhile. AAT: The build is a tad stubby, but I might get one or two. Need Ahsoka and the 332nd Trooper though (BP 2021, fingers crossed) Night Buzzard: Dislike the ST overall, and the Knights sadly get grouped into it. Good they're complete, but they just aren't that interesting to me. Soulless One: Skip. Might bricklink the Airborne, since it is technically new, but the price really kills the set. IT-S Transport: Initially, I thought it was a ground vehicle. Then I realized it was a spaceship. Still, it's neat, even if at the expense of better options. Probably won't get it, but it's not a total skip. Final Duel: Don't have the 2015 version. Probably will have to bite the bullet and get this one. Razorcrest: Debating on it, because it is nice, but the figures don't do too much for me. Still, Mando and The Child. Heavily leaning towards it. AT-AT: Don't have an AT-AT, this one might change that. Probably gonna get it. 5/9 is above 50% at least. Might swing to 6/9 if I decide to get Anakin's Interceptor. Unlikely, since, even though I don't have the 2014 one, I don't need this one. But I might get the ROTS urge and get it anyway.
  24. I think the I-TS was mentioned somewhere as being exclusive to Galaxy's Edge (the park). In which case it makes sense, but hopefully it'll be available on Lego.com as well.
  25. These are great! My favorites are the Trident and the Y-Wing. The Twilight doesn't get a lot of love from the fandom (neither does the Hyena), but you did a good job on both of them! I'd love to see more of these.
