  1. Like I said before, I'm certain the UCS is the Shuttle, and we're either getting (a) another surprise set, or (b) possibly Brickheadz. That's understandable, but being dismissive of such reports simply because they may be false can be detrimental. I suppose a little salt should be taken with every leak or rumor, though. I read that interview, very interesting, but the Jet Trooper design is from Season 5 of the Clone Wars (which predates EA's Battlefront II). I liked the Bounty Hunters BP and the Jedi and Clones BP (actually bought 3 of the latter), so I don't mind the occasional non-army-builder battle pack, just hope they don't overdo it.
  2. Yes, but the bogus is fairly obvious. If it's "Baby's First Lego Leak", then odds are it's gonna be false. But if we're getting information (and a few hints) from tested sources, then the rumors can be held in a higher regard, and can (for the most part) be trusted. Sure, this can lead to the whole "its not confirmed", but come on. A lot of Lego "news" is essentially rumors that come to fruition. I doubt sources like the Brothers Brick, Landino, Falconfan, and whoever else, can be trolled easily. In summation: I'm going to believe a rumor if it comes from a credible source. Things internally within Lego may change, but that doesn't mean the leaks were wrong. Leaks are, by their very nature, reports that will not be verified by their original source (i.e. LEGO), until said source is ready to release them, or is forced to verify upon release of the leaked information (like in media leaks). If we get a credible rumor on a UCS Shuttle, I'll believe it. If September hits and it's something else, then sure, I'll be disappointed the rumors were wrong, but going forward take said source's info with a truckton of salt.
  3. So... are we not getting a UCS Shuttle? Are we getting a Ponda Baba minifig? Dr. Evazan? He can't seriously be on his own, unless there's a figure with the new Skywalker Saga game. So, what's the deal? I'm starting to get the feeling a lot of us are simply being toyed with. We get rumors and alleged leaks, only to be told a week later that it's not what we (were led to) think.
  4. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say we're gonna get a "mini-wave" as has been suggested, but the Fall UCS will be the Shuttle, we'll get the $40/Con-Exclusive set (either the same or different, which is beyond confusing), and another "surprise" set a la IT-S, AKA the Cantina.
  5. One Sith Trooper proper to TWO Jet Troopers? Get outta' here! With our first non-movie year since 2014, it's a sad look for the future. There's still hope, of course, but like you mentioned, all these "problems", perceived or otherwise, seem to be internal to the theme itself. Outliers like Brickheads and this (1) mosaic, fall into other themes' purview, and one mosaic changes nothing about the Star Wars line. All of the sets' problems are either budget constraints, or Lego being greedy, lazy, or a combination thereof. I still hold that 2021 will be a little better. But we'll see. I love that Green Mando! I even bought the Funko of her. Now to scour Wookiepedia to find out the story behind her. Every background character has a wiki entry, right? And the big thing is, this isn't even a "Star Wars" theme, it's just one mosaic! Nothing would've taken it's place in the SW line proper.
  6. A Lego-mosaic is a genius idea. I'd like a signed collectible as much as the next fan, but this not only gives us multiple options (Maul, Vader, and Vader the II), but is also, guess what? LEGO! You can use the studs/plates for whatever you want! Besides, these look undeniably excellent. Anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering! Suffering leads to the Dark Side.
  7. As to the GAR, it's actually 8 to a Sergeant (the Sarge makes 9 ) 3 Sergeants to a Lieutenant and so on. The only problem is, most people won't really care (I've always thought it would be cool to do an accurate Battalion), and I just love the color yellow. But you're right, the best thing is an all shiny pack with other ranks elsewhere (but the Commander's got to be cheap ) It surprises me we don't have a Rebel Friend, with all the original Star Wars stuff Lego seems to think we need. Rebel Friend is at least iconic. A polybag would be the best, or another fan's choice figure (when and if we finally get the Nebulon-B UCS).
  8. The possibilities are nigh endless, like you mentioned with an updated ROTS Clone Troopers (Finally a new 327th Trooper ), we've passed the point of long-overdo on a droid battle pack (seriously, B1s used to cost $1 or less, now they're like $3 a pop), even a new Death Watch Battle Pack, or Hoth/Endor Troopers, the list goes on! Though to be fair, the recent Mandalorians Battle Pack is sort of this build-wise, but not figure wise.
  9. I agree, Rebels was not the best work Filoni's done. Seriously, aside from TCW (where George was heavily involved) and The Mandalorian (which was mostly Jon Favreau) he's really not as good as people like to claim. Rebels had it's good moments though, with Ahsoka's continuation and Hera and Kanan's characters overall. Honestly, if we were to get another Rebels set or two, I really only want to see Imperial ships we never got (Interdictor and Arquitens), and another Ghost, just to get the gang again. Cherry-picking the one's I'd like to see most. Duel on Geonosis is very likely, but I will say remove the BARC and build a better command center for the Battle Pack. We don't need more BARC Speeders. I'm also a bit more partial to the Commander, so maybe swapping the (fairly easy to obtain) Sergeant for him could work as well. I miss the days when 3-4 standard troopers was the...erm...standard in battle packs. Ideally, I'd want a Phase I Troopers pack to include at least 3 Privates, and one Commander/Captain, but Lego would probably throw in a Jedi or something... Also, I was thinking it would be cool to get a remake of the Rebel Scout Speeder Battle Pack. New RSS, 4x 2019's Rebel Trooper. And no, no head variants, keep it true to the original!
  10. I wouldn't want to see a $300 Ghost, outside of maybe a UCS variant. A system-scale set needs to be halfway affordable to maintain marketability. If we can suffer $130+ ISDs, then a $150-$180 Ghost would work for me, personally, especially since the 2014 model was only $90. Pretty much just the OG 6, plus maybe Kallus (S1) or Ahsoka, with white lightsabers this time. The story itself notwithstanding, I prefer pre-(SPOILERS) Kanan and Sabine's later suits were okay, but I like the S1 look the best. But, even if they gave us S3 Ezra/Sabine, and maybe Phantom-2 Kanan, I still wouldn't complain. But for villain figures, I'd want either the Seventh Sister or a new Thrawn and Governor Pryce.
  11. Hasbro is going to give us a full rerelease of the Ghost Crew, plus Ahsoka, so Rebels merch may not be dead yet. While I don't expect a full wave, Hera and her Ghost is very popular in the current canon (even cameos), so I could see Lego giving us yet another shot at the crew. The sets I'd personally like to see are as follows: The Ghost ($169.99): Decent upgrade with more room for the figures to "play with". Hera, Kanan, Ezra (blue hair, dark tan hands), Sabine (black shoulders), Zeb, Chopper. Imperial Interdictor ($139.99): Konstantine, Thrawn, 2x Imperial Lieutenant (black suits), 2x Stormtroopers, Scout Trooper. AT-DP ($59.99): Agent Kallus (Dark tan Han hair), 2x AT-DP Pilots, Scout Trooper (with electro-staff) I'd say a new Ghost and an Interdictor would do nicely, maybe the Ghost could see a rerelease next year, given there's nothing big enough to replace it.
  12. I went on a bit of an "oldies" binge recently: 2015's AAT and Flash Speeder, 2016's Duel on Naboo, 2013's Z-95 and Duel on Geonosis, and 2018's Landing Craft, Mos Eisley, and 2 extra Jedi & Clones Battle Packs. Oh, and I got Anakin's Podracer from last year too.
  13. Again, TMNT is a Mega license last I checked, so it's not gonna happen.
  14. I think @Robert8 might mean aesthetically speaking, not sure how it would really work though. Maybe mutants as a villain type? Specifically animal mutants with figures a la Chima? Or maybe alien robots (the Kraang), or even - like others have mentioned - a rival Ninja clan, like the Foot. But as a straight crossover, it's never gonna happen, TMNT is at Mega anyways. Ninjago could use more original monsters as villains though, that is villains that are monstrous without adhering to any common fantasy/folklore archetype (like no Ghosts/Zombies/Goblins/etc.). Aliens are a bit of a stretch, but maybe they could find a way to work that into play, given the alternate realms, especially if they're more "grounded" like the Greys/Reptillian types unlike previous Lego E.T.s
  15. Only the big ones like the Death Star and Falcon. Some exceptions exist, like the Slave I, but generally speaking, they're around no longer than normal. I'm honestly surprised Cloud City went out when it did, but I guess it wasn't meant to last.
  16. So, I wanted to mention a simple update/change, but it's nothing major, so I didn't take pictures, but this head is absolutely perfect for clone troopers. I remember really liking the 2013 "Angry Clone" head, but it's burnt me out. So recently, I've purchased a few Naboo Guards, because I like the figures themselves, and have been swapping out the heads for extras in my collection. Then I realized, "these are the right color and expression for the boys in white" so I began swapping out the heads on a few of my clones (just my movie Phase Is for now). Going forward, I may just buy some to replace my other clone heads. This one should honestly be used more too.
  17. It's been retired in the US for about a year I think? Didn't it come out in 2018? I'm honestly surprised some countries still list it.
  18. The Rebels Stormtroopers and OG CW Clones were far more cartoonish, so it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that they changed the perfectly normal movie design, even for non-show figures, like the Airborne Trooper.
  19. Thanks! And no, it doesn't, but knowing Lego, they'll try to mess up the ones we already have (from 2013-2018), so I wouldn't put it past them...
  20. Impressive, most impressive! I'm most impressed by the shaping of the chassis, especially around the nose. How many pieces is it?
  21. If we get another X-Wing next year, I'm gathering my troops and storming Lego HQ... "Do what must be done. Do not hesitate, show no mercy!" Some ideas for next year, nothing exactly pressing: Gian Speeder ($29.99): Padme Amidala (Battle Dress), Boss Nass, Naboo Royal Guard, 2x Battle Droids. Hailfire Droid ($39.99): Something a little bigger than usual. Kit Fisto, Clone Trooper (new helmet?), 2x Super Battle Droids. Plo Koon's Starfighter ($29.99): Plo Koon (new head), R4-F5. Mos Eisley Denizens ($14.99): Brick-built Dewback + moisture vaporator. Sandtrooper (Enlisted), Momaw Nadon, Zutton (Snaggletooth), Bom Vimdin TIE Interceptor ($69.99): TIE Pilot, Admiral Piett, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper. The Phantom ($39.99): Ezra Bridger (S1), C1-10P, Sabine Wren (S1), Stormtrooper. And since we have both Ahsoka (AAT) and Maul (Book, technically), my preferred $20 Duel Set for next year is: Duel on Geonosis: Yoda and Dooku. An extremely downsized version of the 2013 set.
  22. No offense intended. Well true. My biggest gripe with the clones as is is the Jet Trooper's legs (they shouldn't have gotten that wrong), but still, I really don't get why the arms had to be white in all honesty. I'm probably not gonna replace them, but they will look quite odd next to the ones I already have. As far as Stormtroopers go, as long as they don't give them another update, I think most of us will be happy. The prints aside, it is a bit tiring to get a bunch of mix-n-match troopers. Especially since we never got the 501st in the 2014 style. I hope so. I'll probably be refreshing Lego's website until 12 am September 1st!
  23. Not to restart anything, of course, but there were ways to soften the "shock" like @jdubbs said. And like I said, they've done it before. One example failed miserably (AT-AP Shock Troopers), but the Stormtroopers were wonderful. I think they could learn from those old Stormies. I don't think the hips are the problem, at least not the color, but how it's very plain. An example would be T-Shirts. A white T-Shirt is very plain, but a black T-Shirt, while still plain, seems cooler by comparison. It's a lot less noticeable, if you will. I also think less people would have a problem with the hips if the arms had the appropriate coloring (even if it's just dual-molded arms). I didn't even notice the white hips at first, but I did notice the arms being white. Also, just for a fun observation, I recently purchased a 501st Jet Trooper from CAC, and it has white hips. Why it works? The printing of the belt is split between torso and hip piece. EDIT: Sorry for the double-post. I guess the merge timed out.
  24. So, I know with COVID-19 stock has been quite limited, but I'm wondering: Will the Death Star ever come back in stock? I was actually going to spring it this year, and it disappeared before I could. So could it come back soon? Or could it take til the end of the year to return? I know it's not "finished" since it's "temporarily out of stock". So was Obi-Wan's Hut and the AT-AP and they came back (however briefly). And on that note, will we see these sets in extremely limited quantities? I'm worried the 501st and AAT sets will end up missing within a day or two of release. Any guesses as to any of these? Like with the Imperial Dropship Battle Pack. I'm fine considering it a "Legends" vehicle since in any case, it's decidedly non-canon. Going further, the Shadow Trooper is only in Battlefront 2 (EA edition) as far as Disney Era canon goes, so it's not from any movie or tv show, and it's a remake of a non-canonical set. Things like the RO packs are different, since they're specifically marketed as being Rogue One related, same with the Clone Walker/Assassin Droids battle packs. Scout Speeder and Dropship came out and weren't marketed beyond being OT army builders. So, to that end, those sets fell outside of the realm of canon, even by battle pack standards.
  25. Yes, but Vader actually is an improvement. The new clones, less so. 2013 introduced a new Phase 2 helmet, people did complain, but the helmet was an improvement. This isn't about a new part being better than the old, it's about the color of existing pieces. One thing would've fixed the plainness issue: Blue/White arms. Simple. If we had just a splotch of blue on the arms, with maybe blue stripes around the cuffs for maximum "accuracy", I'm positive the white hips wouldn't matter. The color of the hips themselves do not matter, but the overall look of the figure suffers due to everything being white (save the obvious stripes). For 501st Troopers, they're a lot closer to Shinies than elite, decorated soldiers. I don't believe we should be blinded by "Accuracy" in favor of what actually works for the product. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. When you try to fix something no one took issue with, the result is a lot of unhappy people. Even the prints involved have sparked controversy. They may be closer to TCW show, but they end up in between the 2013 figures (which I love) and the movie-style 2014 figures (which I also love). They're too movie for the old cartoon figures, and too cartoon for the movie figures. Long story short: Lego tried to fix what wasn't broken, people complained, time for lunch. Improvements are a good thing, but this isn't an improvement, in any sense of the word. For accuracy, maybe they should've put more effort into making the Jet Trooper's legs right than giving them white cod pieces.
