Thanks. I was thinking about a series to complement the Winter Village sets too, and your ideas hit multiple nails on the head. Personally favorites are the Polar Bear suit and the Nutcracker. Also Krampus is a must. Not too well-versed in Sea-based history and fiction, but the Sea Voyage has a lot of potential for interesting designs, even a few fantasy ones. Came up with another series, I like going into details, so hopefully that's okay. Comic Hero Series: Essentially an original Lego Super Hero lineup. 1. Brickman. Classic Smiley face, no hair. Includes a cat. 2. Clutch Girl. 3. Coldfinger. Includes trans light blue crystal. 4. Anna-Conda. Includes the Snake Cultist helmet from Ninjago and two snakes. 5. Karat Criminal. Male jewel theif. 6. Cali Chronicle. Indiana Jones satchel, new pen mold and a notepad tile. 7. Karl Kamera. New camera piece. 8. Cosmic Crook. Galaxy swirl for a face, Anti-Matter portal disks. 9. Madame Infinite. Comes with an infinity loop piece. 10. Mister Twister. Mini tornado piece. 11. Thorn Mistress. Poison Ivy-esque villainess. New cape and hair/crown of thorns combo. 12. Funny Bone. New skeleton face, wears a tracksuit. Comes with a rubber ducky. 13. Slippery Suspect. New banana costume (peeled). Bag of money. 14. Fred Flatfoot. Comes with a new flashlight. 15. Goofy Goon. The Army Builder of the series. 16. Doctor Technic. Robotic face, otherwise normal. Has blueprints for a technic set.

While I don't doubt that, I have to contend that there are wild prices just because. Honestly, there's no real reason Rebels Ahsoka should be priced at $150+, she'd sell just as well (if not better) for $40. People price things where they think they'll sell. A low ball is great for the buyer, and sometimes will gain the seller patronage, but in the last 3 months or so, and I'm specifically referring to the "Covid Tax" if you will, prices have gone up, not just on Lego but other collectibles sold on secondary markets. I know there are those who strive to give the buyer a good deal, and I understand rarity (Rebels Ahsoka keeps coming up), hell, I just bought Velma from Scooby-Doo for way more than I'd like to admit, but greed is a factor for those astronomical prices. If it wasn't, most of the figures that have skyrocketed in price would be at least 10-40% cheaper than they are now. Of course, cheap listings go quick, which is why some of us are stuck looking at a clone trooper for $50. -
I like this concept. Fantasy Series: 1. King's Knight. Comes with sword and shield. Emblem is that of a horse. The knight is decked out in green and dark orange. Has some new helmet mold. 2. Squire. Comes with a bugle and scroll tile. New hat (maybe), blue and red outfit. 3. Prince. Comes with both hair and a crown (maybe the Burger King hair). Rather cocky fellow, dressed in red. 4. Wise King. Grey or white hair, long beard. Dark blue and gold attire. 5. Evil Queen. Comes with scepter. Long black dress, and perhaps a done-up hairdo. 6. Pale Elf. White Elven female, with black hair containing a purple streak. Has a sword and shield (with crescent moon emblem) 7. Peddler. Comes with a baguette (or three ) with the open satchel. 8. Secret Scout. Hooded female with a recolor of the rogue hood. Comes with shoulder cape, quiver, and bow. Includes new falcon mold. 9. Royal Guard. Includes a pike. Red and Yellow color scheme. 10. Pixie. Self-explanatory. Base is a lily pad. 11. Heroic Princess. Essentially a girl in armor. Has a tiara (either printed or part of the hairpiece) and a mace. 12. Bridge Dweller. A troll. Maybe tan or dark tan in coloration, has the werewolf/elf hair with appropriate ear color, and contrasting tan for the hair (i.e. if tan, hair is dark tan) 13. Orc Warrior. Heavily armored olive green warrior. Comes with scimitar and a new version of the fantasy era orc helmet. 14. Adventurer. Another female figure, with a bestiary tile. Some sort of mythical animal can be included (we got a dolphin once, so who knows) 15. Crypt Keeper. Skeletal figure in robes, with a book. 16. Knight To Be. A modern day kid with wooden sword and shield, and a silver helmet (with printing to convey alluminum) Cryptid Series 1. Meddling Kid. Teenager with a new hair piece, baggy pants and an open plaid shirt. Comes with flashlight and map. 2. Cryptozoologist. Comes with a book on the Loch Ness Monster. 3. Bigfoot. New head piece more like Chewbacca than the Series 11 Yeti. 4. Lizard Man. Self-explanatory, maybe a new head mold, plus the Hidden Side ghost claws in olive green. 5. Flatwoods Monster. Self-explanatory. New helmet to convey the unique head, plus a barn owl (the likely suspect) 6. Mothman. 7. Winged Creature. The Jersey Devil, obviously not called that. The Faun's legs, Gargoyle's wings, new head. 8. Woodland Alien. Dover Demon, again not called that. 9. Chupacabra. More bipedal than usual, with mid-legs and a new head (sort of innocent looking, like a young Chupacabra) 10. Wild Canine. Beast of Bray Road. Series 14 werewolf head, maybe a fur collar, and just a humanoid wolf design. Maybe has a road sign. 11. The Smiling Man. Eyes are kinda awkward, like he knows it's weird to permanently smile. Bio would say something like "he just cant help himself". 12. Tourist. Woman with a shirt referencing any one of the series' monsters, a fedora, a camera, and a Nessie balloon (molded mini Nessie) 13. Costumer. Includes alternate head and hair (for the guy inside), the costume is a Sheepsquatch. 14. Inspector. Detective with bowler hat and a new cane piece. Comes with a blurry photograph. 15. Man In Black. Secret Agent with shades and a black fedora. Has a briefcase. 16. Townsfolk. Comes with smiling and frightened head, plus a rifle. Wears coveralls. That's what I have for now.

I would guess it's both sellers being greedy (taking advantage of Covid-19), and people buying out figures on Bricklink. I mean, tons of sets and figures have skyrocketed in price since around March, and it's not really stopping. I mean look at Lego's website. So much stuff is constantly on backorder or "Temporarily out of stock" with no restock in sight. Covid's exacerbated the supply and demand, and some Bricklink sellers (not all though) amp up the prices to make more off said demand. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If CMFs were a collector-only theme, maybe. But it's just as popular among kids as AFOLs, if not more so. Presumably, Lego likes to pretend that themes like Castle and original Space don't sell well, so they don't make them. It's been 7 years since Galaxy Squad and the last regular Castle sets. Of course, we don't know this 100%, but it's easily inferred. Like I mentioned earlier, they'll probably sell more of those niche figures if kids just pick up a pack than if the same kid just pick and chose. Also, something I want to point out with the keychain comparison: Almost all of those are costumes. None of the interesting Fantasy, Space, etc figures have gotten keychains. Now, we all like the Hot Dog Guy, but those costumes are quite popular among kids, hence why they get keychains. Presumably those most popular among collectors (i.e. us) aren't. -
Taking a break from Clone War era sets for some Imperial greatness. An Army-Builder wave (Imperial-class): Imperial Stormtroopers Battle Pack: 3x Stormtroopers, Imperial Navy Trooper. Turret with some terrain. Blizzard Force Battle Pack: AT-AT Driver, 2x Snowtroopers, Hoth Biker Scout. Similar to the 2010 battle pack. Vader's Fist ($29.99): Scaled down AT-DP, 74-Z Speeder Bike. Imperial Combat Driver, 2x Stormtroopers, Biker Scout. Hovertank Assault ($29.99): TX-130 Saber Tank. Hovertank Pilot, Imperial Army Trooper, Imperial Officer. AT-ST ($49.99): 2x AT-ST Pilots, Biker Scout, Stormtrooper. TIE Interceptor ($69.99): TIE Pilot, Imperial Astromech, Imperial Navy Trooper, 2x Stormtroopers. TIE Bomber ($89.99): TIE Pilot, Stormtrooper, Admiral Ozzel. Lambda-class Shuttle ($109.99): Imperial Pilot, Imperial Officer, 2x Stormtroopers, 2x Death Troopers. Imperial Light Cruiser ($129.99): Arquitens-class light cruiser. Imperial Officer, 2x Imperial Navy Troopers, 2x Stormtroopers, Imperial Crewman. Imperial Star Destroyer ($169.99): Darth Vader, Admiral Piett, Imperial Crewman, 2x Imperial Navy Troopers, Stormtrooper. I guess I'll make a Republic-class version (in spoiler tags for space conservation)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oof... But in all seriousness, Lego knows there are breakout CMFs, after all Keychains are made from the most popular figures, generally speaking. Shark Guy, Hot Dog Guy, and Bumblebee Girl are the definition of CMF Hall of Fame, both in popularity and scarcity on the secondary market. I'll admit, you'll find tons of CMF keychains, but again, they're different. Most people don't buy the keychains, because, while great backpack bling, they're limited in use among normal figures. I have bought 2 keychains, Rey and a Snowtrooper. Rey got all her printing wiped simply from being on my keys, and Snowtrooper is...somewhere. Point is, I don't use him at all. But also, you have to consider that Lego didn't know how those figures would sell before the packs dropped. Most of these came after their figures proper made acclaim. Maybe Lego could flood stores with CMFs in clamshells, even out the distribution, and that would save us time in the feeling queue, but as @Clone OPatra said, who knows what sort of blowback costs that might have, both for Lego and the consumer. -

But...They're keychains! Saying they're minifigures is like saying a Christmas ornament is an action figure! It's just not true! EDIT: Yes, I'm aware some buy the keychains and de-chain them, but not everybody will do that. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, just wow. I fail to see the issue here. CMFs are sold as blind bags. So what? What's the real issue? "Evil marketing" is not a thing, but you (and Parents Anonymous) seem to think it is. I get it, some practices are a tad disturbing, but I fail to see the harm in a few blind packs. You deliberately ignore the attempts I make at contending your points with all this hand-waving. I honestly doubt you're attempting to debate in good faith. So, I'm going to have fun with this. Oh, I'm sorry. Blind Bags are an extreme danger to our society, you're absolutely right. Something must be done. The thing is, you're the one constantly complaining on "bias" and "I got mine so screw you" and a list of other straw-man perspectives. You probably aren't upset, but you are passionate. No one's baiting you, simply telling you that it's not as big of a deal as you claim. That's not hand-waving, it's not a "thought terminating cliche", it's a fact of life. Blind bags exist. I understand if you don't like/support the practice, that's fine, but if others choose to support it, that's also fine. When it's all said and done, Lego's not changing how CMFs are packaged or presented, and this is just an interesting thought experiment. It's rather obvious you don't want to actually contend the argument made, so this is appreciated. A) I was parroting a statement I agreed with, and B) Lego can obviously pull the "it doesn't sell" angle any time it wants by controlling the release pool. They can point at the stats, tip a few scales in their favor and say, "Well you see? Outside of those blind bags, nobody buys anything Castle/Space/Fantasy related". We're not the only ones with bias, and we certainly aren't the only ones capable of deliberately misreading data. I mean, are you saying that some people don't complain just to complain? I'm not saying you, of course, but some people search out issues where such problems don't exist. Okay, let's say for instance that it is a real problem, that blind bags promote gambling. There are good arguments for that, and it is an interesting discussion, should one choose to actively debate the topic. However, as a whole, how many little Jimmys and Susies turn to real gambling because of blind bags? An argument could be made against products made for kids in their entirety. Advertisements directed at kids have been the subject of many controversies over the years, for the same reasons as you're arguing against blind bags. It's an interesting topic, but by and large, how many people does it harm? I've been a kid who bought blind bags of random sorts, and I don't gamble. I'm not everyone, and I'm not even most people, but that has to count for something. Show me the kids who've been worse off for buying their Little Pet Shop figures, for buying the Imaginext and Playmobile and Lego blind bags, and we'll look at the data. But for now, a few people are not going to really change anything. For every parent that fusses over Timmy's 1001 Shopkins figurines, there'll be at least 5-10 with no qualms about it. No one's right, no one's wrong. It's their opinion and that's perfectly fine. What I meant was that if you get rid of the blind bag aspect, the "Who will I get?" if you will, Lego will lose faith in the niche figures. Lego will still offer collectible designs, but there would be few and far in-between of the ones most of here value highly. CMF already has loads of essentially plain figures (i.e. the City designs), kids who don't feel might buy, say, 5 CMF packs and get the Sentai Hero, Viking, Scuba Lady, whatever. Cool. That kid might not have cared as much about the Viking/Power Ranger if they were in a clear pack. Maybe they would've, but who can really say. There are collectible minifigures of all sorts (Star Wars, Marvel, etc.) and most of those aren't blind, but they are quite rare. There's clearly a reason why the collectible CMFs are so easy-to-find, and it's because they are randomized. I didn't exactly explain my point well earlier, but there you go. One of two things will happen: Lego would either offer the whole series in one set, or the high desireables (if made), would go before anyone could sneeze, and voila, there's a supply and demand issue. If there's an issue with blind bags, there's no clear solution, at least not with CMFs and the problems others have raised. This 100% -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't always get the figures I want, so I'm not a "I got mine so who cares". However, I'm not gonna lose my bricks over simple packaging. If you don't like blind bags, fine, there's plenty of ways to get the figures otherwise, and no, Lego selling them direct will not solve anything. They'll say, "No one wants Vikings really, we'll just give them (insert random modern citizen #307) instead", and boom. There's a reason why only CMFs have Castle, Fantasy, and Space figures now. I wonder why that is. The thing is, regardless of a few complaining parents on the internet, blind bags aren't going anywhere. Why get so worked up over something that really isn't a problem? Blind Bags can be fun. Sure, some people go overboard, but does that really make it "Evil"? I feel like you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. There are bigger problems in the world than blind bags. And for the record, I've bought actual blind bag products. CMFs are ridiculously easy to cheat compared to other blind products. And don't even get me started on blind boxes. I can see how you can say it's a gamble, but some will just buy a couple blind products and call it good, and others will lose hundreds of dollars chasing one figure. Thing is, nothing will change that. I like the randomization of "What will I get this time?", it's part of the fun. For Lego it's different, but it's still a thrill of the chase thing. And like I just said, most of us (myself included) just feel for what we want, and boom, we save money. Even kids feel the bags, so they're not just wasting their piggybank dollars on the same figure 20 times. And instead of actually contending my point, you straw-man me. If Lego did decide to change up the way CMFs are presented, I'm sure many of us will adapt to the change. But for now, this is how they're presented, so this is how we collect them. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Calm down. Blind bags are not "evil", thrill of the chase is a real thing, and can be quite enjoyable, rewarding, and satisfying. Some parents love complaining, that's not bias, it's a fact. Many of us don't see a problem with blind bags, either we feel them or we buy at random. And like someone mentioned earlier, get rid of the blind bags, lose what makes CMF interesting, as all the niche and out-there figures will be lost to the Ether. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
ARC2149Nova replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
August most likely. DC's CMF gave us variants of the Big 7 (with Cyborg instead of Martian Manhunter), so I imagine a Marvel CMF going the same route, just with the Movie lineup instead of a comic one. Though, they'd probably give us IM, Thor, Cap, Hulk (Bruce Banner really), Widow, Hawkeye, and then classic Ant-Man and Wasp. Covers all the bases. -
This. I literally came to this forum just to pitch an idea like this. The protagonists I could care less about, but figures of the Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, Yeti, and so forth would be awesome. Even the Jersey Devil or Dover Demon would be welcome, even if there's a hangup with the names.

The thing with DC is that it took figures from multiple aspects of it's history. Classic costumes, Golden Age heroes, New 52, Elseworlds (aka Joker), and so on. Marvel would likely do the same. Comics, Movies like the MCU and Spider-verse, and so on. Just to mix it up like DC did. -

I suppose. I mean, Lego couldn't even give us Kid Flash (literally the one character I really really wanted), but even if they do a split between comics and MCU, I could see: Classic Red and Gold Iron Man, Classic Cap, Classic Thor (finally a helmet), Classic Hawkeye, Classic Black Widow, 1st Appearance Spider-Man (maybe Red and Black), Classic Daredevil, a few random villains like Baron Zemo, Enchantress, Bullseye, Electro then maybe some MCU figures like Odin, IW Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, maybe Smart Hulk? That's of course way too good for Lego to do, but it's a base for what I could see. Oh, and maybe Spider-verse Spider-Gwen and Miles. That reminds me, with the new Classic Mysterio, we're literally only missing Electro to complete the Sinister Six. This CMF could be our chance to get him. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
ARC2149Nova replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unless you already have some, HELL NO! According to Brickset, there's about 1200 Star Wars figures to date, with a million more on the way! Now some of these are slight variants (CW Clone with grey or black rangefinder), but even still, that's a lot to collect. I'd say stick to a subtheme, or at least the core characters from each film. I for instance recently did a couple of wanted lists just to ID some key figures from the OT and PT. Example: A NEW HOPE Shortlist: Luke Skywalker - Farmboy, Pilot. 2016-current Farmboy is fairly easy to acquire (recent Landspeeder/Obi-Wan's Hut), while the 2019 Snowspeeder Luke has an X-Wing Uniform + standard pilot helmet. Obi-Wan Kenobi - I prefer the 2014 figure, it's the best version to date imo. R2-D2 - Kinda goes for the whole saga, so you just need one. Lavander dot is the most current. C-3PO - See above. Most recent version from around 2014-current is pretty boss. Han Solo - Death Star/Mos Eisley Cantina version. Until they release one with dual-molded boots, this figure'll do. Princess Leia - Tantive IV version (2019). She has the dress, so she's the best version so far. Chewbacca - 2014-current version is quite plentiful, and the current best version of Chewie. (can't get any better honestly) Grand Moff Tarkin - 2016 Death Star version. Might be a tad expensive, but it's the most current Tarkin we have. Darth Vader - Now, not many people notice this, but ANH Vader is slightly different from his ESB and ROTJ suits. Most notable are the "Suspenders", fabric that visibly overlaps his chest armor. Rebels Vader is the most ANH-accurate Vader, but if you really don't care (like most), then the Vader found in the Final Duel, Death Star, and Bespin sets will do. I hope that's helpful at least. Given time, you can introduce Bounty Hunters, 1001 Imperial Occupations, Random pilots and troopers, droids, and so on. But start with the most current/accurate/personally preferred versions of the main cast first. -
Thanks! The hair is the fairly common hair used on Black Canary, Ellie Sattler, and Black Widow in Dark Orange. The head is Chell's I think. Her torso is Magpie's from TLBM. Edit: Her legs are the Inferno Squad legs.

ARC2149Nova replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't disagree, like @Mandalorianknight said, and I said, Royal Guard updates I could see, but really, I doubt they'd do something truly different for those figures. Maybe some new torso prints, (like Luke's white flap, which has only been in the Ewok Village), but other than that, all the figures are really represented well (again, the Guards could be better, but I've always liked them) Even the "new hat" Palpatine is kind of a downgrade, with his classic hood looking much more accurate. I appreciate that some love detail, and I'm not against it, but in my opinion, if Lego gives it to us, fine, and if they don't, fine. Me either. His grey just looks better. Maybe a light stone grey head would convey that pale gaunt mug we all know and love. -

I think it's up to interpretation, but I'm guessing how you have it in your MOC is the way it is. With the Legends version, the design of the turret (a bubble) makes me think it's like a Y-Wing gunner seat, where the driver/gunner does sit "in the turret". That's actually pretty big, since I have the TX-225. Do you have instructions/parts list that'll be public? I'd love to build this baby. -

It's part of the fun. Don't like it, it's Lego, make it better. I think we're starting to forget what makes this hobby unique. Either way, it doesn't matter as to this topic, since the Final Duel figures are the same as in 2015 (sans new hood for Palps). It's all a matter of preference anyway. -

Lovely work once more. Seeing it "in the flesh" makes it even better. It does look a bit small, would be nice to see the gunner's seat though. -
My dream Lego theme, probably the only new theme I'd wish for at this point: Power Rangers Obviously centered on MMPR, there could be Angel Grove High, the Command Center, Rita's Moon Base, and the Zords. Not to mention buildable "Large-figs" of Goldar and such. A putty battle pack, the kids in their normal clothes and Ranger uniforms, Rita, Goldar, Zedd, Squatt, Baboo, Finster, and Scorpina. I think it'd be a worthy license. Since Hasbro co-opted it recently, it's highly unlikely, but you never know. As far as reboots go, Scooby-Doo would get my vote. The original gang cost way too much on the aftermarket now (I just completed the team after all these years), plus the Mystery Machine could be updated (just to get a cheaper one alone, though the original was almost perfect). My main draw would be the classic ghosts. No Vampires and stuff you can get from a CMF, but the Phantom Shadows, Space Kook, The Creeper, 10,000 Volt Ghost, Tar Monster, the Skeleton Men, etc. I also hope that the Spongebob Ideas set goes through, as I love that show, and @ExeSandbox's Krusty Krab would be perfect!

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

An MCU CMF could be Lego's way of acknowledging past films. Off the top of my head, we could finally see Odin, WWII Cap, The Destroyer, The Other, any number of figures that haven't been made. I for one would like to get a Malekith at some point (bland character aside, he looks cool).
